      @ST 068 Agreed. I just thought Mercury never sang "live" like he sang on the studio albums. Whereas Covernote did. Also I felt that Queen's albums were a bit weak. My two fave queen albums are the Greatest Hits. But Queen and Whitesnake were both excellent bands. And would both get in my Top 5 faves.

      @@wanderer1955 It's so subjective, so it comes down more to favourites really. His voice hasn't been truly great for quite some years, and live it's quite embarrassing at times. Such a shame as he had such a lovely tone. He damaged it by pushing it too hard above his natural baritone range. Purple originally wanted Paul Rodgers but he had just got Bad Company going. Paul's voice hasn't changed much at all in over 50 years, still the best rock singer, in my opinion obviously.

    That’s obnoxious to call Tawny a video vamp when she was a legit actress who was in the movie Bachelor Party with Tom Hanks before she even met him. She continued to work and join him on tours when they were together for over 4 years. Even after the divorce, she was in the TV show Hercules, The New WKRP in Cincinnati, and America’s Funniest People. Tawny always said he was the best rock singer despite the breakup.

    • @mrsmokeydog7830
      @mrsmokeydog7830 3 года назад +3

      Tawny Kitaen R.I.P . Their is a whole lot more too that relationship and break up then meets the eye. Tawny was originally dating Robbin Crosby R.I.P Guitarist for Ratt. She also had a tempestuous affair with OJ Simpson while dating Crosby. When she was with David Coverdale she tried to make business decisions and creative control over the music. She was insanely jealous of other band members girlfriends and wifes and basically was a busy body poking her nose into things that were none of her business. And David has a legitimate reason for harboring some resentment towards her and the eventual divorce . referring to her as The Video Vamp is mild compared to what he could have called her.

    • @fireice2999
      @fireice2999 3 года назад

      @@mrsmokeydog7830 David Coverdale has burnt a lot of bridges, so I don’t agree with your comment. Why even bring up Robin Crosby or OJ which were her past relationships?! If he didn’t want her involved in band business, he could have clearly told her, she toured with him for 18 months before they got engaged. So, the main reason is that he resents her for having to give her the LA house as part of the divorce settlement. Tawny was still friends with Rudy Szarzo and Marty Callner unlike Coverdale, they don’t even like him very much.

      He’s sounds really bitter, he’s just mad that Tawny moved on. He stalled the divorce twice for a toaster and deck chairs. He only married the third wife a year after she got pregnant and had their son.

    Class act DC 'coming to the boil' class that. I don't think I have and will ever see/hear a legend like DC and his back catalogue with Purple and Whitesnake being mentioned with Pork Pie tasting Ha Ha!

    I didn't even know he was British. Got one of those really cool sultry British accents.

      Of course he's British. All the great hard rock singers are British. Ian Gillian, Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Hughes, Coverdale, and of course, Robert Plant. There's good ones from here I guess, but the great ones came from England in the 70s

      ronnieguitar99 hello,Ronnie James Dio is an american from New York.he was singer in he British bands 'RAINBOW' and 'BLACK SABBATH',but he was born in America.

      @ronnieguitar99 10 лет назад

      I never knew that. I guess I just assumed he was British because he was in bands with Blackmore and Iommi and he's got that singing style like Gillian and Coverdale. He looks British.

    • @ejlarson249
      @ejlarson249 10 лет назад

      It's really hard to know someone is british when they sound EXACTLY like an American when they sing. Why no accent when singing?

    • @ronnieguitar99
      @ronnieguitar99 10 лет назад

      There was Peter Noone doing "Henry the 8th". Other than that, ever since the Beatles came over all Brits sound American because they basically got their music from black American blues and R&B artists.

    They're trying to not act nervous, but that woulde be hard to do sitting next to him. Sometimes he reminds me more of professor with that gorgeous, deep speaking voice. He's so intelligent and is still one gorgeous man. I got to see him in concert once in the 80's...thanks to my teen son who was not driving yet. He was so fine and put on a great show.❤

    Fucking class - Morphine suppositories. Mr Coverdale - James Bond meets rock n' roll - made a living for 35 years singing about his cock. Saw him in 2017 and thought it was ghastly but you can't help liking the guy.
