One of rock's finest voices saluting one of rock's greatest keyboard players. Both legends in their own right and David's eloquent tribute shows what a true gent he is.
David one of the greatest rock frontmen in history. Who cares if he's old today and his voice isn't what it used to be, he has nothing left to prove.
*AND FOREVER A CLASS ACT* ...
Glad to see a humble man, a true practitioner of his craft, give a very classy and obviously heartfelt send off to a towering talent. The guy has manners.
David Coverdale's kind words about a truly gifted keyboard player, the wonderful Jon Lord. RIP Jon.
Jon Lord is the ultimate keyboard player of Rock History

The best

Who knew David Coverdale could be so eloquent? A genuinely classy tribute from one former band member to another. Much respect to both of them.
He's eloquent, effortlessly loquacious, intelligent, and expansive because, like me, he was born in God's county. It's great to be so impressively modest.
Ain't it, though?

who knew?
the guy has always been a class act,
though a bit ruthless as a businessman
Thank you David Coverdale. Jon Lord, you will be missed, but your lasting impact is eternal.
You are a class act Mr Coverdale and has always been.
That's the video where I'm really starting to respect Coverdale... Thank you David!!
Mr. Lord was quite an excellent musician.
Well done Mr Coverdale; You sir are a gentleman and a class act.
A lovely tribute to the great Jon Lord by David Coverdale.
⚘⚘⚘⚘
A thank you from Legend to another legend.
Dave thank you for kind words about the greatest key board player ever. You are my one of the most favored of rock singers. God bless your heart
R.I.P. JON
A wonderful Eulogy from David Coverdale about Jon Lord. Jon Lord was a wonderful musician who also had a keen interest in classical music. My father was a Sound Recordist and had great respect for this gentleman.
I would not have expected any more or any less from one gentleman toward another gentleman. And yet, still i am deeply moved. Thank you, both, for what you have given to the world. Much love and respect! RIP Jon Douglas Lord... \m/
Coverdale is a Gentleman !!
Wow David, I had never heard you speak off stage. What a gentleman, and John was proud of you as well! God Bless you.....and R.I.P. Jon....What a musical legacy you guys left! Cheers.....
Very nice eulogia Mr. Coverdal. The only time I saw Deep Purple was during the Burn tour and David Coverdale was singing. The only Purple beside Burn that I had listened to was Made In Japan with Ian Gillan singing. I was so young and stupid, I didn't even realize that Ian Gillan was not the lead singer that night in the Boston Garden's. It was an awesome show and wouldn't have been any better with Gillan. David Coverdale did a fantastic job hitting every note perfectly. My 1st concert.
David Coverdale: You are a great guy
Class. Just oozing respect. We will never see the likes of these dudes again unfortunately.
Jon Lord was a great musician and all-around humble soul.
Very moving and I can feel the love!!!!!!!!! Very classy and I Salute you!!!!
I always admire a person who can read...also write, express with syntax and style, and resonate beautifully from his repository of sound and his heart like a fine lord of the land! From one lord to another "Lord". ♥️♥️♥️ Mahvelous✨✨✨
Very nice, David Coverdale!!! Very classy indeed.
This is amazing to Jon Lord you are awesome Dave I wish DEEP PURPLE was still together
It should not be forgotten that Jon Lord (and Ian Paice) played on several early Whitesnake albums. Some good stuff to be found on those records, for sure (as Glenn Hughes would have said).
Jon Lord was playing with Whitesnake when I saw them live back in late '83 or early '84 ( cannot remember the exact date). Cozy Powell was on drums and John Sykes had recently joined; it was a fantastic gig !
Nothing else needs saying . Beautiful Eulogy Mr Coverdale .
Along with Jon, David Coverdale is a class act.
Coverdale got it right. Too many people talk shit about the departed, or act like they were best friends when in reality, they were anything but. Sharing a few memories and being complimentary of Jon Lord is a great tribute. I only know it's what I would want...
Very well said Mr Coverdale
I never saw this.... an excellent & heartfelt eulogy.... David is a class act eulogizing a great man Jon Lord....

Superb David ... Great performance at the California Jam ,,, GG
Jon Lord was, in my opinion the true genius behind Deep Purple.
the core always was Lord-Blackmore-Paice
That was wonderful David. Jon would have been chuffed to hear that, Brilliant!
Are you kidding? This is a EULOGY, not an off-the-cuff comment. These words are from the heart! As a musician (I have lost a number of fellow musicians), I understand where Mr. Coverdale is coming from...Coverdale did it with class, and with feeling and true conviction.
What else more needs to be said?
This is great ! thank you David ! And please put together with other members of Deep Purple a memorial concert in his Honour he truly deserves it !!
Thank you for sharing with us these treasured memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes you're a class act!!!!!!!
A truly wonderful tribute to John.
Beautiful David
Well said.
that was beautiful!!! Amazing musicians!!!
all class Dave
Nice eulogy by David here, "God Bless His Cotton Socks", I've always loved that "Burn" record, really love Glen Hughes as well. Yeah Deep Purple back then was just bursting with talent, miss you Jon, your organ TONE was always just the best most rocking fabric on which everyone else in the band could paint on. Gonna go find that "Burn" vinyl now, , ,
Can't imagine what would spur a negative comment here, but I'm not going to go looking for them. This was great, thanks so much for posting it. David is a classy guy, and Jon Lord was a spectacular musician. It's hard watching some of my heroes get older and pass on.
What is Sad is that the Music Isn't the dividing factor in These Great Bands..The Ego is. Many Great Bands have been ripped apart by an Ego Whisper in ones ear. Purple, Rainbow and Whitesnake Are Markers in Time and Music History. What a Kind Soul David is. His Honesty is wonderful.
Thankyou David, great guy Jon
Well said. Very articulate.
Ova loved him💞💞😏😢😢ova
Saw the Whitesnake line-up containing David Coverdale, Cozy Powell and Jon Lord also John Sykes, Mel Galley and Neil Murray ; it was a brilliant show !
Classy...
👍👍
John Lord now you are in Heaven playing music for God...!! R.I.P
Amazing how many mentions of whisky, cognac and brandy were made. Still, a good eulogy.
It's been said the English can hold their liquor. Candice Night was amazed at the number of rum & Cokes Ritchie Blackmore could put away.
Mr Coverdale, your class mate. John Lord sadly missed. Great video
С удовольствием прослушал текст обращения и благодарности великого вокалиста к великому клавишнику, хоть и пришлось слушать в машинном переводе из-за незнания английского языка...👋👋👋
R.I.P John Lord such a great nice Guy.What a loss
Awesome!
