A good conversation. The great thing about Parvathy is that she doesn't reiterate the same thing she has said in her other interviews. You can see her thinking has progressed from her last interview. I feel she is one of the better thinkers we have around in terms of women and workspaces- thinking not just in terms of analyzing problems which almost every intellectual does, but thinking in terms of what can be done to move the conversation forward. She knows the practical and financial aspects of the film business and therefore whatever she has to say about the film industry seems grounded and insightful. Her ideas are more concrete than many people I have listened to. Arundhati Roy has given better interviews. But I feel that with artists and writers of a previous generation, there is a sense of despair at where things are headed and they don't know what to do to break it. They will keep fighting come what may be, but in terms of concrete ideas on how to bring about a thought revolution, they seem more at a loss. How can the "lovers" their use art to equip themselves when "art" and that too art that is funded by totalitarian organization and looks stylized and appealing are also at the service of the "haters"?
Absolutely. Art has to be consumed first for it to bring change. The kind of art "lovers" make will confine to set of audience leaving very little room for change. So, no doubt there has to be assertive legislative regulations.
How beautiful is this! 2 wonderful people having this wonderful conversation, it made my day. I wish i could be as open as Arundathi roy, she isn't for cancel culture or judging people and totally cutting them off, "its only for privileged." (It opened my privileged eyes too😅) "Even the most evil person can make the most beautiful art" , "nobody is PURE". I wish i was so forgiving as her and nonjudgmental and allow space for the once i disagree with but i think i have very low tolerance for bs than her. Even after all that she has gone through (and still is) she has no bitterness with society/people she disagree with. Why is she so misunderstood, seems like people have put her in a box called "leftist" or whatever and completely shut down their ears and minds to what she has to say. What a gem! She inspires me everytime. They both inspire me.
I absolutely love when women address problems instead of simply normalizing them. Talking about issues is undeniably the first step toward change. No matter how small the issue may seem, speak up, express your discomfort, and let others know rather than always trying to blend in. And these two women are definitely making a change or atleast trying to make a change which many will thank or talk about, if not today then atleast years later.
It's indeed amazing to see two bold women discussing problems about serious issues beyond imagination towards the first step towards change. No doubt it requires guts to speak up, agitate against discomfort, no matter how small the issue may seem 💕🙏🙏
Wonderful conversation! While I compare with similar conversations happened in other Literary Fests in Kerala, I think WLF has done a commendable job in organizing very relevant topics for the debate, conversations and discussions. So, we could see, watch, and listen rich contents in WLF than in similar events in other Fests.
Ms Roy rightly said “ art is not a bloody bible”. It’s an excellent observation. Because it’s so complicated. There are many shades of gray when we evaluate an artist and his work. But criminality should be dealt with the law of the land. Because nothing is more important than life not even art.
Two highly self aware persons interacting , which gets us into that zone but trust me it's attractive but but but very dangerous to hold to thrive there, high sensitivity attracts everything, including all the mess chaos mishaps and worst cases !
Love these two women and the work they've been doing. But this seems like a wasted opportunity. With someone as bright as Parvathy on the other side I expected a more stimulating conversation with Roy. Other than stating the obvious there wasnt much else. Or maybe it was intentionally laid back . Hopefully some other time.
Dear Mam, Writing from the Heart; though not in the veins; tough on skin yet akin to the Art so dear that helps to manifest itself Should these be sold Or held in the treasure Chest To share stales To keep stalls ?!
Listening to the artificiality of Parvathy is itself a torture and add to that Arundhati and it becomes unbearable, yet Arundhati can be still heard because she makes some sense but not the other one
Two of the strongest women shared their wisdom beautifully! What a wonderful conversation with graceful voice modulation 🥰 Love you girls 🫶🏽❤️
Lovely conversation between two intelligent and articulate women. We need more!!!
Just two powerhouses crushing over each other!
Two great Malayalee women!
❤❤❤❤

More power to you Parvathy , you have started a revolution and like how you subtly talk about it without taking names . Loved the conversation ❤

Most awaited conversation!
"കാടിറങ്ങി ഓടി വരുമൊരു മൂഢനായ കാട്ടൂ കടുവയെ
വേട്ടയാടി ആടി ഇതു വഴി വാ..." Thank you Arundhati Roy. I can finally enjoy this song without any guilt.
Great to see you both together.. ladies whom i admire so much ❤
Excellent conversation ❤
This was a fabulous conversation!❤
So nice to see both of you ❤❤
I don't agree with views of Arundathi Roy these days. Still I don't like her voice to be silenced. She is a writer and an author!!
I was waiting for this since the insta post.look how graciously Parvathy old.
Old ?

Dear Mam,

Two of my favorites. But unfortunately nothing made sense. Wondering whether they also understood what they said and heard😊
That seems contradicting and a backhanded compliment.haha
Yup totally agree
Feeling the generation gap. Arundhathi is half asleep.
Wow, nice to see both the worriers together.
Ivalano Arundhati Roy ne interview cheyunne😂😂😂😂

2 of the biggest hypocrites alive .
Why can't they speak malayalam?
Things when told in malayalam may lose gravity...
Who said this talk is just for malayalees🫠..
Wayanad is experiencing a lot of tragedies of late. This is the latest.
Don't shit!
