My only regret, I can’t experience it for the first time again. Loved every minute of this game.
Honestly. This game was so good
So true!
I love happy endings, so glad we got one, beautiful game!
yeah me too, the kiss was MUAH
same
This game felt like a whole anime series
exactly!!!
Mfers even had a season 2 complete with new opening lol
@@Neolabfg YES! Caught me off guard at first LMAO
@@Neolabfg LMAO
@@Neolabfg i remember beating part 1 and was like thats it? Sike 2nd season came in lol
wow how long has it been since we got some romance in a tales of, i am so happy
You know what's awesome about this game? That the ending they used the cherry blossoms to represent hope and life. Throughout the game all of the seasons we experienced were autumn, summer, and winter. The one thing we never experienced until the end of it all was SPRING. Think about that.
OMG you're right. i kinda thought elde menancia was spring, but it's totally also summer. when i think of the epilogue, THAT was definitely springtime. great catch!!
One of the few jrpgs to make me feel genuine catharsis.
Many of the Tales games like Berseria and Zestiria make me feel emotional but never leave me feeling clean and satisfied. A bit of sorrow lingers.
This one makes me happy for the characters, and hopeful for their future.
You just explained out my exact feeling perfectly
I feel the same. I'm so glad for the charaters.
I was damn happy when they finally kissed. I was like FINALLY!!!
ahaha ngl the game wasn't perfect and the 2nd act pacing was off but........ i didn't even care cuz it was so fking satisfying when they got their happy ending. literally a kiss they waited THE ENTIRE FKING GAME FOR, dannnng
first kis in al tales series actualy
Wish our boy zephyr got to see this 😭
Spoiler:
He does if you %100 the game
He sees it through the will of Dahna.
@@Jxjon117 how come?
I just finished the game (campaign) a while ago, planning on 100%-ing it on steam after this, just need like 10 more quests left
@@jsf2898The optional quest where you refight the lords and Zephyr.
While I had some issues with the overall story, I thought the romance between Alphen and Shionne was just so well done in this game. From their little moments of bonding throughout the story, Shionne's personality becoming more 'warm' in Act 2, all culminating in this final kiss...it's just so beautiful in my eyes. Ayaka's Blue Moon is such a perfect song for this moment as well.
I was glad to see such a happy ending to the game, but also a bit sad to see the story end right there. So glad they fully committed to the romance between the 2 at the end, as the wedding scene at the end was quite lovely as well.
dude i was so happy they just let us have an unapologetically sentimental ending -- the wedding and the little house they'd talked about. I'm tired of grit, irony, and subverted expectations. let's have some happy endings!
Arise may not have the best story in the series, but it does have the best ending.
I want to say at halfway thru act 2, I was thinking if they dont kiss by the end, I will be very upset. I was so, so happy with the ending.
I finally ended the game, the ending of the story was so much great, the two worlds became as one world whole, her curse is broken and finally they all live happily ever after, the end.
This was my first Tales game, and I loved every minute of it!
Yea is 1 of the best i ever played
Mines as well I loved it I can't lie
It’s the best one although abyss is really good too
Just finished this game and it was the first tales game i have completed. And as for what I have to say about this game.... words cannot describe what this game made me feel. The characters were well writen and likable, story wasn't crazy by all means but was interesting and kept me looking forward to what was next, music was... beautiful, and combat was amazing. This is one of the best games I have played because of the fact of how complete it was
I wonder what would you feel if you play Tales of Destiny remake or Tales of the Abyss. [Best in the series in my opinion along with Vesperia and Symphonia]
@@daniloalejandrocabrerasala6226 I'm playing Symphonia right now. Vesperia was so good.
@@daniloalejandrocabrerasala6226 Vesperia a good game? Are you kidding? The story is shit.
@@AntoinePelissier I mentioned Tales of Destiny and Tales of the abyss first. But you focused on Vesperia that I mentioned last. 🤷♂️
best of the series, best characters of any Tales game and it was so much fun seeing the characters develop
Nice, but mediocre
Awesome game but not even in top 3 of best Tales Games. It is in top 5 but because of the beautiful graphics and top notch animations. But Tales of The Abyss or Tales of Destiny have way better stories and incredible characters.
@Coco dohalim and MC was awesome. Law too. ;)
@@Enclosure_2kI appreciate your praise
@@daniloalejandrocabrerasala6226Oh no, Arise is the best Tales. The artstyle, character dynamic, world, gameplay, music.
Berseria's ending was beautiful but bittersweet.
This one just pure sweetness and im so happy for it. Its rare nowdays to get a pure good ending where everyone is happy and the world is saved.
I wanted more romance scenes of Alphen and Shionne though, ending was kinda quick IMO.
Alphen to volhran: You have no friends
Power of friendship hurray !!! XD
Best $50 spent, 62 hours to complete it, I wish they would have made scenes and a different world after the ending, not just throw you back before the final fight
agree with everything you said. think i might buy some DLCs just to give them more support, because my god they earned it. i do wish they'd given you an epilogue world though -- but i guess it makes sense that they don't, cuz then you can't do any of your sidequests.
@@seraphik i agree with you! If they unify the two planets, the side quest would be messed up, but they could have make something up to let the side quests as they should or made Rena just disappear, but the games it's a masterpiece
Well there are technically different worlds you can explore that each have a unique boss to fight, but it doesn’t add to the progress of the game. Just an interesting side quest with nostalgia values for fans of the series.
Well they could have made a portal on the new joint world, where we could be transported to dahna from the pre joining of the 2 worlds.
Seriously, this is just the best ending credits i had ever seen in a game, truly a perfect ending, im gonna miss playing this game
dude i don't understand how people could not like this game. i loved it so much, and the ending was so satisfying. after i found out the worlds were meant to be one, and Rena was just trying to reunite with Dahna -- and that the two worlds were out of balance, just as their people metaphorically were -- I was really hoping they'd find a way to not kill Rena and instead unite the worlds. For a long time it seemed that wasn't going to happen, but at the last minute ... Alphen made it happen! gah, so good. now time to restart NG+!!!
I can think of a few reasons. Spoilers below, don't click "Read More" unless you want to spoil yourself. You've been warned!
I did indeed enjoy the game, but it took a bit of a nosedive after defeating the 5th lord. A few points:
- The INFO-DUMP on Lenegis. MY F****** GOODNESS! SO. MUCH. DIALOGUE. TOO. MANY. CUTSCENES. Then cue the 3 redundant skits that basically regurgitates everything that was just said, but in a different way. It's very insulting to us gamers, and it's almost as if the devs think we're all stupid. Yes yes I know you could just skip the skits if you don't like them, but think about the gamers with OCD! It was literally walk 4 steps, a cutscene, walk ANOTHER 4 steps, ANOTHER cutscene, the 4 repetitive skits follow up, then rinse and repeat ad infinitum. And we only get like half an hour of gameplay for 3 hours of cutscenes and dialogue. It gets even worse on Rena. The pacing near the end is GOD AWFUL...
- The final dungeon is a f****** slog. It pits us against never-ending mini-boss enemies, like, REALLY? *rolls eyes*
Some of my friends started complaining about this section, and that those enemies took too long to kill. I just happened to be a bit overleveled at that point, and could delete them in under a minute (even on Hard difficulty), but even I have to admit that fighting the same mini-bosses again and again and again gets tiring real quick. Later on in the post-game enemies get so DAMN BULKY, every battle almost feels like a battle of attrition. The bosses make this even worse...
- Vholran just kinda feels out of place, and is so one-dimensional. The guy's literally evil for the lulz, and his backstory isn't really compelling enough. I feel like Alphen should've just killed the dude in their final fight and got the Renas Alma back, but NO, he has to enact his "power of friendship" speech *rolls eyes again* to try to save Vholran. Unfortunately some people just can't be spared, and if you try to spare them, well, you're an idiot. Also, how can you be sure Vholran actually did die? Who's to say he didn't just blow up the Renas Alma, but got transported somewhere else and is still miraculously alive?
The story does wrap up most plot points, but leaves a few hanging. Like what happened to Lenegis, or what happened to the Helganquil?
Don't get me wrong, I really did enjoy the game, but I feel like if the devs spaced out the last act, and incorporated more dungeons, while spreading out the plot a bit more, it would make the game even better.
Edit: Oh and one more point. I don't like the egregious DLC practices Bamco was using. Purposefully cutting the EXP and SP earned in half, while making gald scarce, just to encourage people to buy the boost packs? What's more, they DELIBERATELY advertise their DLC EVERY. F******. TIME. Especially true at the campfire scenes. It breaks the immersion of the game.
@@Mernusify ok, since my last comment i played through a 100% completion ng+ run and... yeah, i understand the criticism. honestly even the first time around i remember feeling a little worn out by the nonstop cutscenes and the really grindy last dungeon. at the time i kinda just powered through asap though, and then i was so blown away by the ending that i kinda forgot all that.
after replaying though... yeah, i do wish the second half was stronger than it was. i totally agree with all your points. i still love the game, but it isn't flawless for sure. i think the utter satisfaction of the ending makes up for a lot of it, but man, the expo dump on lenegis really was awful (i know exactly what you mean about taking two steps and then hitting another cutscenes). and the last dungeon is such a terrible boring grind. and yeah, even though i loved being able to unleash nothing but special attacks, I'm not sure why they had to bring vholran back.
all that said though, dude, the ending was sooooo good. and the epilogue in the drawings just made my entire year!
@@MernusifyVholran is Alphens shadow. He is what he is supposed to be. Showing what Alphen could have been.
First time playing this game finished it great MF game
I trusted my guts that alphen and shionne will kiss and FINALLY😭😭😭
When I finished this game, I was actually immensely pleased. The twin worlds thing had been done before, same with social castes but I feel like this gave a new life to the series. It was beautiful and I loved almost everything about....my only issue was the final boss. Not the kind of final villain I was used to being Tales. He was like a Zagi but worse. But I was like if Alphen and Shionne don't kiss by the end I will be very upset. They get married and they kiss. All in all, well done and I will be here for the next one.
R.i.p. to Zephyr! A true hero!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this game.. But for the first time in what feels like 20 years, I was enthralled in this game like I used to with the old Final Fantasy titles on the PSX/PS2. Amazing story. Was hooked the whole week I was playing it.
i cried as fuck dude
haha it's ok bro you picked a good one to cry on
@@seraphik thank you, my friend
I cried throughout the whole game. Such a beautiful masterpiece.😊😂
kisara tall af woman, alphen is like 5'8 or 5'9 ,so shes probably at 5'7 or 8 while dohalim is 6'0 to 6'2 and law 5'6 at most.
I had to watch this video of yours just so I could check for sure because I thought I saw Dohalim put his arms on Kisara's waist at the end. Oh well only shows my eyes are really blurry, or maybe it's me getting my hopes up haha
beautiful ending!!
Is the story similar to Symphonia that two worlds become one?
Okay but I have one question I only watched 3 minutes of this video but I wanna know did alphen dead or he's alive in the end
SPOILERS...
Alpine is alive at the end of the game
@@Canibar13 wooooow I got the answer after a month thanks but the saddest part is that I did watch the video cuz no one did tell me in that day
This is still one of my favorite games. I hope the next Tales is at least half as good.
It's so sad that Nazamil from the DLC was not at the wedding, the game has to abide to continuity and she wasn't even conceived yet at the time of this ending
I wish the game had an epilogue or showed the world where Dahna is free. But then again, the dialogue does tell what they would do so there is that.
The only regret I have is I won't be able to re-experience the transition from Part 1 to 2 for the first time again, That Blew my mind. I was like WTF?! Is it over what the fuck is this FMV Opening?!, Wait... Yoooooo.. this song is on fire.. When will they release Part 2?! Then you Realize it's the Start of Part 2. I'm like SHIT! 2 Series in 1 Game!? Bandai Banzai!
I'm only here because I can't remember if I Finished the game or not HAHAHA. Now I remember why I dropped the game without doing 100% Completion, because that ending filled me up with some Abyss Vibe.
I find this games story very close to A game of Thrones, Excalibur, Dark Souls story. It is so familiar.
Nissa Nissa Prophecy
"According to prophecy, our champion will be reborn to wake dragons from stone and reforge the great sword Lightbringer that defeated the darkness those thousands of years ago. If the old tales are true, a terrible weapon forged with a loving wife's heart. Part of me thinks man was well rid of it, but great power requires great sacrifice. That much at least the Lord of Light is clear on."
Thoros of Myr
Nissa Nissa was the wife of the legendary hero Azor Ahai. In order to unleash the powers of the sword Lightbringer so that he could defeat the darkness of the Great Other, he had to sacrifice her by plunging it into her heart.
and to think it only took 20 years since Destiny for us to FINALLY get another tales game with a happy ending and when I say happy ending I mean the MC and his girl actually ended up together married and what's more is THEY ACTUALLY KISSED FINALLY FOR GODS SAKES....ever since Abyss I've hated how they never had them do that especially my fav pair of Luke and tear....when he came back after 3 some years you don't say "Why are you here?" you run up and kiss your man lol .....Abyss is still probably my fav Tales game story wise but Arise is now my fav tales game with the best ending
I don't care if this ending was a deus x machina. We deserved to get this ending. Especially after sad and bittersweet ending in past 4 games(i think).
We needed an happy ending, and i think thats why this felt mush better than it should have
Without a doubt best tales game in all 8
Loved this ending so much but the worst part about it is that A. I can’t experience it for the first time again and B. It made me cry so much
Azor Ahai and Nissa Nissa, the real ones.
Holy shit your right.
Good game overall, and definitely loved the effort taken into giving each character personality. My only bit of constructive criticism to the makers? Find a better way to develop the story then with dialogue every five steps. I felt the last area (no spoilers) literally had the party stop because someone had to yammer.
That said, I loved Alphen and Shionne finally getting together at the end. Yes, I'm a softie.
After Suikoden 1,2, and Radiata Stories, this Tales of Arise are the one that make me feels satisfied as gamer
It was an ok game i had fun with It. But, took me like 2 years on and off to finish it.
breaking the shionne curse turned out to be very similar to the scene in the movie trunks killing the fusion zamasu
I have a lot of issues with this game, but I admit the romance between Alphen and Shionne was genuinely cute. It's very rare to see a japanese anime (game or otherwise) that nails the romantic writing... so even if it had a lot of bloat here and there, Alphen and Shionne repeating the same dialogue bits over and over, in the end, their affection felt genuine, I like it. Basically I can count in one hand, the romance in FF10, Hunter x Hunter and now Tales of Arise, the only time the japanese actually performed a decent job, their ideals about romance and affection are really weird (the obsession with stalking for example, geez... and let's not talk about the pedophilia)
wait do you all people note this is the first good ending of Tales game look the history of Tales ending never got this good.
For once they got a proper good ending. Its nice after all the bitter sweet ones in the past.
first tales game i've played... i almost wish i've played the bittersweet ones just to make this more satisfying. it's kinda like black mirror yeah? so many depressing endings and then you get one like San Junipero... first happy ending in the whole show after like 3 seasons or something. you don't see it coming at all cuz you're just flinching for the inevitable depression, but then it's actually happy and it's so much better for it.
Not the first good ending, it's just been a while since Tales has one. The last time Tales had a good ending was Graces.
Currently playing Beseria, I'll be playing the new game+ after I do Arise!
does anyone knows the name of the song at 34:00 ?
Blue Moon by Ayaka
The moment we all wanted a happy ending 😊
The only thing I hated here is that stupid forgiveness speech when the renas alma is right in front of him tbh.
And so a new planet is born into redahna
one of the few videos that has no audio issues, all the others have the last scene muted
Licensed song that's why.
Wish there was a cutscene of the ending
Oh well great end
Love this game so much I spent a lot of time playing this game
Since I played Code Vein before this game,I am afraid Bandai will kill heroine in the end. Glad they let her live,Through.
I wonder what happened with volhron....
Good question
He blew up and died
Those last suprise boss fights messed me up ha ha i had no items really
Horribly optimized game. I was playing on very easy and even there I couldn't defeat the first boss. Game doesn't let you access to buy/upgrade and by the time you REALLY have to do it, it's late and you have to backtrack/pull up saves from HOURS ago. I liked the story, though. Glad to see I can watch the ending here 'cause there's no way I'm bracktracking to hours ago only to be able to upgrade and buy stuff.
If you couldn't beat Balseph on Very Easy then you are just bad at the game- Hes easy AF on Normal Difficulty at 5 Levels under him
Verdad q se casan al final eso dan a entender pero en el DLC no están casados no se por q le dan vuelta a la historia principal
Wait is Volhran dead?
What did Volran want lol wtf why simply a madman

I literally screamed "I'M IN THAT" when they kissed 😂

I love the tales of franchise
soo they created the no game no life world
Nice ending but the overall lead up was forced and was a vomit of exposition. 7/10 for me
I love the story right up till this point. Why do JRPGs always gotta have shitty endings. Good game overall tho, I did put many hours into it
Had to find this on RUclips because I got bored and skipped the ending cutscene. At least I here i can skip ahead past all the boring parts
thx....cause im not finishing the stupid game its impossible for me to do it my level was to low and i had no healing items
It’s really not that hard…
You realize you can grind your levels but whatever
Do as many sidequests as possible and fight as much as possible when you travel between cities. This way you would easily get to level 59-60.
tf? i was level 50 without even trying by the end. if you ran through doing zero sidequests you've only got yourself to blame.
Well the thing is....i went in the boss fight at level 42 but i could have won if i had healing items
if the DLC doesn't solve the mess of the ending I will be dissapointed
I don't get the hype around this game still. The characters generic af, the story generic af and then sprinkling on top reduced battle rewards to try snd sell dlc content.....tf thanks for making a video to show the generic 'Power of..love/frirndship' result.
Overall this game feels like juniors first anime the game.
Fr, that whole forgiveness speech was cringe af...
ugh i can barely play to the end...the story so boring and not worth the time
Screw dubs ... How can people play foreign games with dubs? Every single line in the English translation is completely off and loses soe 90% of context. Well, even better question, why game translators don't stop "adapting" the translations to what they think would be better (as if they know what is best) and follow the freaking script?
So what do you suggest? Learn japanese to fully appreciate deep dialogue of this game?
@@DartNoobo I propose complaining with the companies that translate them so they stop doing this kind of crap
The dub for this game was amazing wtf are you on about
@@thejonkler224 The dub (voice acting) is excelent, it doesnt change the fac the translation for it is bad, wastes the VO effort into saying low quality translation
