    Its hard to explain the anxiety calming feeling I get when I start one of your videos, because I know that after these 12-15 mins, I will understand this topic so much more than I do now. Most productive minutes of my life tbh. They need to advertise your channel in future chemistry textbooks!

    You're a Godsend! You've pretty much just explained the concept I found most difficult in f215 with such simplicity. Feel like I'm leaving this video with a lot of clarity. Thank you so much :-)

    is the redox equation between sodium thiosulphate and iodine something we have to remember by heart? As I was confused to how to do the equation.

    For the last question I got 83.6% as well. Is it ok if I divide the mole of the Cu by the mole of the impure Cu to reach the same final answer ((0.01185/0.01417)x100)? (instead of the dividing the masses)

    how would we know all the half equations? i see in the comments you said we will be given them but you are not including them in the question and then ask us to have a go, does this mean we have to be able to work them out ourselves? or is there a mistake

    hi on your previous video for redox titrations you had mentioned that if dissolved in water then the moles don't change regardless of change in volumes. why are you timsing cu2+ in 25cm3 mol by 10 to find mols of cu in 250cm3?

    • @MaChemGuy
      @MaChemGuy  Год назад +1

      The moles dissolved are the same as the moles in the 250cm3
      The moles used in the 25cm3 for the titration however are 1/10 of this
      Hope that makes sense

    Why wouldn't you use half equations to construct the overall equation the produces the iodine?

  • @rekhasharma3344
    @rekhasharma3344 6 лет назад +1

    hi, in the last example on this video, at the end before working out the mass, why do you not divide the moles of Cu2+ by 2. Because in 2Cu2+ + 4I- --> 2CuI + I2 you have 2 moles of Cu2+ (which is 0.01185mol) but if you take into consideration the HNO3, the equation is: Cu + 2HNO3 --> Cu(NO3)2 + H2. so surely you would need to divide by 2? I'm just a bit confused.

    • @MaChemGuy
      @MaChemGuy  8 лет назад +1

      Hi, the ratio of Cu2+ ions to Cu in the equation involving the nitric acid is 1:1 so no need to do anything to the moles at the end. Hope that made sense :)

    Is it likely that they will ask us these questions without providing the equations, a lot of the redox titrations question I’ve done already have the equations so I’m wondering if it’s worth memorising. Nonetheless, Amazing videos thank you so much

    • @MaChemGuy
      @MaChemGuy  5 лет назад +1

      No, they will give the equation. I have seen one where you need to establish the mole ratio via two mole calculations
