- Quel est votre niveau de français ? - In this lesson I am explaining the different levels of French.
It is very important for you to know your level in French so that you can use the right French resources to learn French. A big mistake that I see very often is seeing students learning French with resources that don't suit their level. One of the keys to learning French efficiently is to learn with resources that perfectly match your level.
In this video, I am explaining the 6 different levels in French with the requirements for each level. I am also sharing with you one tool that will help you evaluate your own level in French.
I have created a quiz that will tell you your exact level. It will take you 10-15 minutes to complete.

Just took the quiz. I scored 21 and as expected B1 level. I am going to follow your suggestions and practice more. I am scared to talk. Scared where I will make mistakes in grammar. But I will continue learning and improving.
Language is a tool, and it needs to be used. So, you must practice speaking with real people. Don''t be afraid of making mistakes! If you don’t try, you don’t make mistakes. We learn from failure, not from success. 💪
the quiz played to my strengths because i did a few courses in reading french specifically a few years ago although some of the details of prepositions and which/that terms (i forget the grammar term) have escaped me, so I was a B1. pretty sure my vocab and speaking would be lower though 😅
30/40 and B1. this is pretty much the level that I thought I was at. I'm hoping to obtain B2 within a year, hopefully this isn't too optimistic of a goal. thank you for the test :)
Just took the quiz and had 22. Perfect prediction of my level B1. Merci beaucoup. Je vous apprécie
Ouii! So now that you know your level, what do you think you have to put in place to get to B2? I am excited for you! Keep up the good work 🥰🇫🇷
Same as me!
Merci 🙌🏽
Avec plaisir 😊💫
Merci beaucoup 💫
Avec plaisir! ☺️
I would say listening is the hardest for me. People have different accents and speak at different speeds. Just like English, we use slang or other words that may not be common to that person trying to learn English. I got an A2 but I would start with A1 just to refresh myself.
I agree! Listening is very hard but the more you practice, the better you become 💪
@@MyFrenchStory I try to listen to French music or watch tv shows in French. I just started listening to Singuila this morning.
Same, I can understand written French, spoken French is a whole other story
A2. Just what I thought. Not bad though for having learned French 20 years ago!!!
Very good 💪
After on and off studying French for 12 years I got what I expected.. A2... Yup.. In school all i knew was grammar, and couldn't speak. Now all I focus on in vocabulary and speaking, so my grammar is really bad🥲 At least I know i can do it, and I know I'm not far from B1, I just have to keep going!💪
Also this really gave my English a nice ego boost, because it sounds like I'm C2 in English🥰
It states B1 level. I started teaching myself since last June. The result is encouraging. Thanks
Wohooo! I am impressed! Bien joué! You should definitely join my French French training next week. I will teach all about the vocabulary you need to sound more French. If you are interested, let me know and I will send you the link 😉
B1 woohoo! Not bad since I've been out of uni since 2009 lol. 🤓
I got b1. Fairly consistent with other tests I've taken
What level are you when you start to think in French?
Just finished the quiz. The quiz focuses on reading comprehension. I’m not that good at reading & writing because I focus my effort on listening and speaking. I scored 20 which is at A2 level for my reading comprehension but I’ll continue my focus on listening and speaking which is more fun to me.
It's great to focus on listening and speaking, as most of the people focus on reading and writing! For me, I learn languages to speak, not to write books ;)
A2. I would love to make it to B1!
And you can do it! When there is a will, there is a way 💪
I struggle with speaking and listening
I got A2 but that's from not practicing since college 2019. Hoping to work my way back to B2 again
When there's a will, there's a way 💪
I have a C1 ear and eyes, but a B1 mouth and hands :)
32/40 b2
Wow !!! Bien joué 👏🏾👏🏾
C1
22/40 i got b1
Ms. Pearl, your English & French are very good.
Does DELF certification provide from France. Can I get A- 1 level book in India ?
Merci beaucoup! Yes of course you can m. Look up “ alliance française in India”, they are running sessions ☺️
@@MyFrenchStory
Bonjour Mademoiselle/Madame. I have no any specific time. How can I learn French from you. There are many in our country, but mostly I notice their R pronounciation. Which I didn't find satisfactory.
Chouette
☺️☺️
24/42 so I got b1! It tracks- I moved to France for 3 months and starting learning there. My trip got interrupted by the pandemic but I still retained some stuff i guess :D. I don't understand french grammar very well but I can get the gist of what's happening and people understand what I'm trying to say.
She left out "Level C3" which is the level where one understands the 4,583 different relative pronouns and their 234 different uses. This issue has me very discouraged in going forward with learning French. I guess I have reached my "Peter Principal".
Seriously though I wish there were a 5th choice for the answers - " I don't know". In order to complete the test one has to guess at the hard ones and you automatically have a 25 % chance of being right. If one was to be real lucky in guessing these hard questions one could easily be rated higher. I think I was one of those. I got a B1 but in reality I am A1 or a very low A2.
I struggle with writing, it’s so hard for me, it’s quite curious because I feel confident to speak fluently but when I have to write the ideas disappear
I'm the exact opposite, writing is easier than speaking for me...
A2 . I struggle with listening and speaking
The reason is because most language courses focus on writing and reading, and not on listening and speaking! But you will get there ;)
Thought I was gonna be B2 but I’m acc A2 lmao 😩😭😭 I’m really good reading and writing but I have a bit of difficulty listening and speaking
This is very common as most language courses focus on reading and writing, but they don't give you the right tools to improve your listening and speaking ;)
Link is not opening🤷♀️ I tried many times.
Oh no! That is strange. Try going directly on my website: my-frenchstory.com You will find the quiz on the homepage 😊
@@MyFrenchStory oky. Merci 💕
Ah non! The quiz got stuck when I selected “D” on question 16. :(
Hi, I've just taken the quizz and got 39/40 and C2 level. However, I don't feel like having C2, probably due to the lack of practice. I have no one to talk to. Nice channel, by the way :)
Can you react to Kalki speaking french she's an indian actress.
Noted ☺️
Speaking
Hi
The most problem I face in french is that I can't speak fast or hear properly when you speak fast
I can't speak spontaneously
It will come with practice! When I was learning English I was just like you. I could not speak on the spot and I could not understand spoken English… but I kept practicing (by listening to English audios and by forcing myself to speak with English speaker) Don’t give up. I promise you. You will get there! 💪❤️
@@MyFrenchStory thank you so much it my privilege that you replied to me and I'm a fan from Egypt 🇪🇬🇪🇬
I'm A1 lmao
i feel like my listening & reading is B2 but my speaking is A2 😳
I've got B1 in the quiz, fair enough Lol
