It clear that 28mm is not really meant for portrait photo. I find it absurd some people try to find the reason out of buying leica q and adopt to 28mm, not because they naturally want 28mm focal length.
Seems all you have to do is always stand back and shoot full body and then crop in post. Not as enjoyable experience as seeing the shot you want in the camera and being able to pinpoint focus exactly where you want. But the results are very good.
I know Greg Williams shoots with the Q3, however, these shots look too wide with the 28 mm fixed lens and might be better done with a M11 and either 35 mm or 50 mm? You have an amazing studio, nice model, and looks! The Q3 is a beautiful camera - the lens appears to be too wide for these types of shots...
It really depends on the situation really. I am still testing different setting for different situations atm. Most AFs for still subjects and AFc for moving subjects. So far… lol
What is your favorite portrait lens?
GF110 f2 but the Sigma 85 f1.4 DG DN is nice too if you are on a budget.
Awesome! It is so great you show and compare both non-cropped and cropped photos. It is very helpful to understand how to use the 28mm.
I, myself, am still trying to learn how to use 28mm and experimenting 🙂
28mm is very tricky with portraits because feet and hands look grotesquely long if you are not careful with many postings. Great job !!!!
Yep! Thank you for watching!!
Great 28mm portraits with the Q3! I'm having trouble editing my q3 files in lightroom and would love to see a video with your workflow. Thanks.
Thank you for watching! I came from Sony and Fuji and it feels like Leica DNGs are much easier because colors are already good out of the camera.

Yep 28mm not for portrait. Lol

A beautiful lady ! No tattoo I love! ... girl power ❤
Is the picture quality of Leica really far from Nikon or Canon? Thanks!
Awesome examples!!

Not my studio hehe and I agree that 28mm is too wide. I wish I can afford and M and a lens.
Michael - thank you for this! question... did you shoot cropped for framing or did you crop in post?
Hi! I cropped in post.
Would you mind sharing your profiles for portrait and street? Awesome work btw!
I was just using the highcontrast mono if thats what you are asking.
@@MichaelYoungKim what was it for color? So filmic!
It was just my editing from raw 🙂
What are your go to settings for a street photography or do you use these settings universally?

@@MichaelYoungKim Any preference in exposure metering?
