Great video! Always find your approach to composition inspiring. I bought a Leica Q (original) partly after seeing your videos and I love it. As a Sony user in my professional work, it's a nice change but I sometimes wish the autofocus was better. Still, I think it makes me a better photographer because I have to plan my shots, more than shooting purely reactively and it gives me that feeling of creative play, which I think helps me to make better photos overall - and I see the difference when using my Sonys now as well. Love the sound of the Q3, and hopefully I can pick one up eventually, but in the meantime I love my Q.
That’s great to hear that you’re still rocking the Q. There is really nothing wrong with that camera at all, I’ve considered picking up another one tbh. You definitely have to rely more on composing a shot than you would with a Sony, completely agree. Thanks for sticking around and watching this video
As a Fuji medium format 100s and 50r shooter I love my Q2. Loooove it. I spent 40 days out in the northwest and came home with 12,000 images give or take. 7000 or so w the Q2
@@Kalama_Llama_King_Kong thank you so much. I made a video with mostly sample images a couple of years ago, looks terrible but the photos are good if you’d like to watch the original Leica Q in action! ruclips.net/video/SXbRIBqblK0/видео.htmlsi=HW6HRX0-LGQwytvW
Great video! Stunning sample shots. I definitely see the image quality but there’s so much talent in your vision and touch that you probably could get those shots out of most any camera!
Fantastic shots and video as always Hunter. I’m convinced this camera will make you a better photographer as it obviously gives you one of the nicest images out there but also exposes any weakness in your game. It doesn’t let you hide behind a super blurry fast aperture or tight focal range but in the right hands as shown in your video you can realize the combination of composition, story telling, and subjectivity. The challenge and times I can make it all work is really what brings me so much joy every time I use it. Thanks for the continued inspiration!
I purchased a Q just over a year ago, and your video with that camera was super helpful in making the decision. I love that lens, it is simply perfect. The Q had a huge impact on how much I enjoy photography. I recently picked up an x100v to experience it for myself, and it is also a great experience, great EDC camera, and I really like it for the jpegs obviously when I just want to take snapshots and not do anything in post, but the IQ doesn’t come close to the Q. Both great cameras though. Thanks for all of your videos, they have been amazing.
Enjoyed the video as usual. Just picked up a 77” OLED and the quality of this video is nuts! The photos of you guys were amazing. Anddddd Now I gotta buy a pizza oven. Thanks.
Great video. There are rumors that a GFX with a fixed lens will come out in 2025 to compete with the Leica Q series. Which would you choose with regards to color and easier edit process?
GFX, so much flexibility. It’s hard to beat the physical size of a sensor, the physics come into play in that regard. Now as far as how the image looks, I think the Q will be winning.
Great video..thank you. I don't know why but I always see every single photo taked with the Q's are -at my eyes- totally underexposed. I don know if is the sensor or what but is my humble impression.
Each of us have our point of light and dependending the situation, weather, location, etc.. and the look-mood we want to show. Im talking in general with the Q's. Every single photo I see from that sensor has the same results. Keep up the good work.
After reading your original blog post about Leica Q and sooc BW I bought it, that camera is absolute legend. Do you feel Q3 retained same sooc BW abilieties?
man if i was that business i'd be really happy with the photos you made, hats off! :) you really sold me on the q3 (although switching from the a7r5 with 4 top lenses would be a tough call)
don't really care for the camera. somehow i stumbled upon your vid started watching because the vibe was so chill and defo did not regret it. nice, calm and informative video! subbed and now watching why i dont need the x100v :)
And is this truth, actually its a zoom lens. Because you have this crop functions (windows) and with the 60MP pixels you can crop to like 50mm or 70mm and thats the same like using a 50mm or 70mm lens. Am I right?
It’s digitally cropping just like in the X100V series. I wouldn’t call it a zoom because the optics don’t change, there for the compression doesn’t change or focal length. Essentially it’s the same thing as cropping in post but it does it for you in camera. Thanks so much for watching, great question.
No it’s $6,000. It’s a fixed lens camera so the lens can’t be detached. If you look for a 28mm 1.7 summilux lens, they’re usually around $7,000 so I’m saying basically you’re paying for a lens that comes with a free body, since the lens itself would cost around the same price if you were to buy it for an M mount camera
@@hunterhart1 oh great , that's completely fine I'll take everything all together as a fixed lens. Q3 ... I'm using I'm using Sony A7 R5 with sigma 29 to 70 i think , everything was 6,000 something... But it's so bulky
simple answer. No. Having had a multitude of digital cameras including a 45k phaseone I can honestly say fuji holds the mantle when it comes to quality price for your money. If you want that classic leica experience then an M6 or M3 single stroke. IMO
Not if you have zero interest in aps c sensor, think 28mm is the real deal and appreciate nothing can replicate the lux on the q. Otherwise agree one can settle for fuji and have no problem taking good pics
