- Hey guys! Today we are going through my eyeshadow palette collection to see what I can part with. My shelves are overflowing so it's time to say goodbye to some of these palettes that I never use, even if I still love them:) And I feel pretty good about my progress! I hope you enjoy it! Next time you do a declutter will you open the palettes you are keeping? I would love to see swatches of your favorite colors from each too.
I love my eyeshadows and decluttering some after one of your videos and a HLP decluttering. The idea behind hers is to intentional in their use, yours the amount. So I got rid of the old and the ones I didn’t use or didn’t like anymore. I have a specific space for them and if the space is full I have to get rid of them. What I do know is pick every week a handful of them and wear them. It’s a me moment to enjoy looking at them and helps me with be intentional without getting rid of a whole bunch of them
I know it’s more time consuming but it’s what we all want for sure. Maybe content creators can break it down into different videos and I will be there for each and every one. I tend to tap out of the huge makeup declutters when they just say not keeping this, not keeping this, not keeping this and not much more. It means nothing to me.
Getting rid of eyeshadow palettes is so hard. 😢 they are so beautiful,
U should make a bin for the "maybe next time" ones and then start using them. Then u will quickly know if u want to keep them. I used to have this many palettes and I just kept decluttering. I know it's not the same since it's not my job, but it felt great. I buy smaller palettes now too. Thanks for showing this. I think u did a great job and made some tough decisions. ❤❤
That chocolate palette is the shades that I’m seeing everywhere for clothes this fall!
I just traveled to Europe and only took the Tartelette in Bloom palette. It was perfect!!
Man, this is in my pile for Poshmark but now I want to pull it back into my collection… hmmm lol
I took a break from makeup from 2015 - 2022. During that time, formula improvements were so fast that by 2022, all my dream eye products, minus magic curling mascara for double lashes, were invented/made avail at reasonable prices. This is fantastic but now i still see all these beautiful palettes as "rare" and am having trouble resisting more, more, more. And thanks to robert welsh and others, i can even apply them "correctly" to get the look i want. So ive gotten attached to them all, and ive accumulated too many in a year, but having trouble stopping...
Same. Personally I think it’s a huge undertaking but I was considering depotting as many as I can and putting like colors next to each other. I know there are many repeats. I think I’m too lazy at the moment. 😂 I have been buying singles and very small pallets as of late, like the visart ones.
Only wish you would have given those of us who haven’t seen ALL you videos a better look at each pallet.
Chuck the Hogwarts! I love Harry Potter too, but those shadows on the eyes? Yech!

Use a magnet and pull out that one shade from the Tropicolor palette that you like and keep it with your Sydney grace singles!

Honestly I got bored with hoarding makeup and I got rid of a lot of my makeup I just kept the stuff I really like and I feel better like I have more free time and I feel lighter
I finally decluttered my original Naked palette after 13 yrs and I survived!

I decluttered most of my Warm-toned eyeshadows when I finally confirmed I’m not warm toned and I just look tired and blah in the wrong shades/tones. Ex - warm browns. Just because I have brown eyes doesn’t mean I should wear browns. Blah. 😂
You look great in your cool toned shades btw - silvers grays pinks. Beautiful! So pretty!
Yes agreed - the older I get the less experimental and less makeup I want to wear. I just wear the right colors near my face and don’t even need much makeup.
Maybe this is my problem and why I feel like I just look blah with my browns. I'm not really warm toned like I was told all these years.
It’s so hard to let your Precious go. I hoard mine like Dragon’s Gold. I have at least 30 years worth and when I tire of them I store them downstairs. Every once and a while I sort through that stash and look through them and reminisce.
I only have three palettes and like ten singles. I would be overwhelmed with so many 😊 I love your eye makeup looks btw ❤
Your declutter of the Going Coconuts palette from Colourpop made me pull mine out and use it again today. There is a reason I will keep that and That's Taupe in my collection forever. Just both too good to get rid of ever!

I will highlight my shoulders to do any mundane task lol! Walking the dog, mopping the floor, etc ... I have a beautiful collection of potent highlighters via ipsy but also mature skin, so i enjoy any excuse to "highlight without caution," in fact i just dusted myself with golden shimmer in crlebration of removing my bra...

To get the most out of Lust for Dusk, you need to start playing with mixing warm and cool tones. It's my favorite owned palette, but I personally adore mixing warm and cool tones.
Good job! I did the same on Saturday. Felt wonderful. I decided that if I did not use at minimum 50 % of the colors in a palette, out they went.

Do you have the Meraki palette? It’s so basic but you can come up with sooo many different neutral looks! I really love it

It’s time for me to go through mine as well. I’m setting a goal for myself that I’m not sure I can hit. I want to keep it to between 40-50. I have been going for more single shadow looks, even looks I create with just eyeliner and bronzer, so just where I am right now in my makeup journey, feels like a lot needs to go. Also, my singles collection has recaptured my heart! ❤ My MAC, Sydney Grace, Makeup Geek, ABH singles are back front and center in my vanity. I can’t wait to see what makes the cut and gets to stay in your collection!

Great job with the decluttering of your eyeshadow palettes, Mandy! I imagine some were hard to pass along, I know I have a hard time decluttering some of mine. You mentioned you haven't been too impressed with the Milani eyeshadows. I recently got the Whiskey Business palette and find I pick it up and use it more and more. A good neutral matte palette that creates a pretty eye look.
Ahhh, you got rid of going coconuts right as the ND I need a nude pallette came out. Just saw a video where the going coconuts is almost a dupe.
I FINALLY got my Sydney Grace order today after almost canceling it bc of some issues. It was a big one😅
So. I'm not even sure why you're keeping anything else. Kidding, of course, but HOLY EYESHADOW FROM HEAVEN. I'm stunned. I can't wait to put on my eye makeup tomorrow morning.
I ordered one brush (blush) because I truly do not need another makeup brush but wanted to try them. It's the blush brush I've been searching for my whole life (I had a feeling). That's a little dramatic, I know, but now I want them all. And I have good (BK Beauty, Rephr, Anisa) brushes. I'm betting they'll dethrone a few.
This is going to cost me. I'll blame you 😊
I know how you feel about ND palettes! The Zendo was a purchase regret for me, but I just can’t get rid of it.

We watch declutters to vicariously see the many palettes. And it would be nice if you can open each of them and do a close up. Some even do swatches, those are the best. These type of declutter i just skip on watching

The petals en pointe palette is pretty. Might have to get a sixth one of CP. The quartz and stone cold fox palettes look fairly much like their gone metal one. I have their gone metal. That is one i keep reaching for.
I decluttered my going coconuts, but used some of the shadows in it (magnetic palette) to replace glitters in other palettes, like Off Melrose which is a favorite.
The Tahiti palette works well as an eye palette too if you want something softer... Just fyi. 😊

As far as sydney grace, I just purchased both coffee talk palates which are being discontinued. I purchased both the light and the dark on their sale.
I understand your love of the BH palettes and wanting the Christmas palette in other packaging. I wish all of their palettes were still available. I really want the Love In London palette!

I totally agree about the Colourpop Harry Potter palette!!! I thought the same when it came last year. I bought one for me and each of my three daughters. I love love love the sweet talk palette.
Sadly, I agree with you on the Colourpop Harry Potter palette. I'm keeping it because the packaging is so good and I love Harry Potter. You can actually get a nice neutral look with the brown tones, both cooler and warmer, and I love the Gillyweed shade!

Do you clean up or sanitize decluttered makeup before you give it away? if so, how do you go about it?
I wish I could have what you're getting rid of. I miss buying and wearing make-up. I became disabled at 45. I now live in a nursing home and we only get 60.00 a month to purchase what we need or want. Please consider a nursing home, the women would love it.

I just bought a couple of the flower shadows, and everyone seems to be decluttering them... I like them!! Bought my first wetNwild pallet and loved it, also my first ND pallet (I went to get the new release, but it will still be weeks before Australia gets it, so I got Biba) also I'd like to get a new face powder (Laura Mercier..but apparently Saphora Australia doesn't sell it, so I got a Huda translucent, she said its perfumed, but I love the fragrance in it.) At 63, I'm splurging as I finally have time to wear make-up, but sadly, my lids are loosing their elasticity and I've bought some palettes I can't use, as they just need to be rubbed and rubbed to show up, and by then, they are pulled and saggy!!😢 anyone have tips for best brands that go on with one swipe (the wetNwild I just got was about the best ive tried in cheaper and top end so far!!)

I find my hogwarts palette is best if i look at it in quads. I think I use greens and I have brown eyes plus I've moved some of mine around to work better for me. I think they could of done better so on that I agree.

The naughty I have 2 backups of I had 3 but gifted one!!it is my favorite palette of all time I have no idea why they dont redo it the formulas and the color story!! Funny thing is I still dont reach for it!!like as if its a pat mcgrath that i think is for special occasions!!what is wrong with our brains doing that!! Lol

Save your Money on Stone Cold Colorpop. Pigment is awful. Very hard to layer.
I felt the same way. I tossed it in favor of the shadow kiss palette from alter ego. I was really disappointed in the formula.
