Was literally just thinking this while listening. Love when Aussie bands don't try to hide the accent or use that neutral American sounding singing accent.

My dog passed away recently, the 'chasing our tails' part has me in tears.. Sly withers got a fan for life today
Oh my gosh! Our dog died when I was younger and this came on in the car with my mum and sister not long after during a long drive and we all sang the awoooooo bit together and cried.
The start of the song "come up to meet you" took me straight to the day when i first met him.. He walked up to me and sat at my feet as a puppy and i said well i guess youre the one.. Then so many memories flooded in "you dont know how lovely you are, running in circles, chasing our tails, awoooo" how much life can you fit into one little dog.. Was a privilege and learned so much. Listening to this was very healing for me
I normally can’t get through more than 30 seconds of a cover of the scientist but you guys had me from beginning to end. Fantastic!!

My son has a condition called apraxia , it’s a speech condition meaning he doesn’t have a voice and won’t be able to talk without intense speech therapy. This song has just became out fighting song for our little man . Thank you

This! This is great. It's what Like A Version should be. Great current bands putting their own spin on huge songs from huge artists. There was a long period there where Like A Version seemed to be tending towards a massive circle jerk among artists that featured recently on the station. Illy, Hermitude, Gordi, Alex Lahey, DMA'S, The Beligerants; those were fantastic Like a Versions. Triple J, please trend that way and not just recycling songs on recent rotations.
I should also mention Art vs. Science's cover of 'Enter Sandman'. That was glorious. I mean, I would have loved them to cover 'And Justice For All...' or 'Master of Puppets', but I can appreciate the need to appease the audience.
My fave like a version ever was tegan and sara covering dancing in the dark. Not available on spotify but it was epic. Dma's cher cover better than the orginal too
