  • Join us as we take you along to search for a forgotten abandoned copper mine dating to the early 1900s hidden in the Carbon River Mining District of Pierce County WA. Not the Clipper Mine. Wait until you see this discovery as we take you into the underground mine workings to explore this more than 100 year old abandoned mine. Did we mention this mine is a fully flooded dark water mine?

    Pierce County Washington is known for its rich coal mining history. However, very few know about the turn of the century copper mining industry that flourished for a short period in and around the Carbon River Mining District

    Oh and the quartz creek mine is pretty cool, and the ones up Dutch miller gap, they left a lot of gold ore up there the couldn’t get out, wasn’t cost effective, I left a post on that hidden cabin you posted a month ago, love to go with you guys before I get to old lol

      There is a spot up Mcullens butte trail just before you cross either the road or railroad

      @ghosttownsandminesofwashington awesome !, I was going crazy with cordinates, lol. I knew there was a couple around there just couldn't find em. When I was a kid, I accidentally found the clipper, and it was the beginning of my addiction. Just saddens me all the garbage and graffiti that made its way up to the clipper :(. My goal is to find something untouched and leave it that way, truly enjoy the history. Sorry for the autobiography, but thank you for the info !

    oooooo if you look in wood crevasses. miners would put there valuables in those kind of areas in case of cave ins11.13
