What a race, an amazing 106th Indy 500😁😁😁😁😁 Congratulations Marcus Ericsson for the great win in Indianapolis Motor Speedway by a Formula 1 and Ferrari fan from Greece 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
Scott Dixon absolutely got robbed by Race Control with the penalty. I was really hoping that Scott Dixon was going to win that race, but Race Control ruined it for him in the end.
I though that red flag was the end. Threw my hat on the ground. But Marcus picked it up, CGR gave him an amazing car, and he held it out. The two older guys behind me who saw my hat and saw me cheering my lungs out gave me high fives after. Indy is so beautiful
the man who is almost as happy as the Svedish guy is Jimmy Johnson. He almost fucked up the victory of Ganassi team... I think it was a great relief for him that Ericsson finally won the race...
20:58 The moment that sealed Dixon's fate from winning ,he was so dominating throughout the race but that mistake destroyed his chances ,the curse continues
This was Dixon's month of May.. he won the pole the Sunday before the race. He led 95 laps of the race, then the pit speed penalty relegated him to a 21st place finish.
Scott Dixon absolutely got robbed by the Race Control with that penalty. The Race Control Members basically hated Scott Dixon and they decided to ruin his perfect race.
Finally a classic Indy Car race with foreign drivers of incredible talent. This may invigorate the series which is sorely needed and only a " hint " of Andretti nonsense. Now we just have to work on the snob appeal that is Formula 1 and we can finally enjoy some of that action also. How sweet is the victory for Ericsson ? !
@@nicksterl.2133 sobre qual corrida Ericsson comentará em uma entrevista qualquer em Estocolmo no ano de 2050? Indy imortaliza seu vencedor sempre. Isso é estar noutra dimensão da história do automobilismo.
At 13:32 it looks like something comes off Grosjean's car before he even hits the wall. I wonder if something broke, or if it was just debris up in the marbles?
Indy is special. Whenever you think "I got this figured out now", the racing gods just throw a spanner in the works and turn everything on its head. At least that's what I felt like when the red flag got thrown. So happy for Marcus Ericsson. His European career turned out to be rather mediocre, but he's definitely shown his real talent over in the States.
It is the Greatest Spectacle in Motor Racing as at least 2x the people show up for Indy compared to LeMans. There's no other sporting event that gets close to that attendance every year like clockwork.
I know I have the unpopular opinion on this one, but I don't like red flagging races to try and get a green flag finish. It just feels fake, plus you run the risk of cars not restarting (ie Ed Carpetner, Will Power in Detroit) but either way, great win for Marcus! Easily the most underrated driver at Ganassi flexed his muscle.
Once again Conor Daly displaying his talents at his home race. Won’t be long before he’s drinking the milk and it can’t come fast enough for me. Every time I watch clips of his humorous exploits outside of the car, I like him more and more. Edit : Ballsed up the lap 113 restart though ... going from 1st to 4th into turn 1.
Am I the only one who wasn't attracted to the color schemes of the entire field.just as us racing fans love the cart days we loved the colors.you know red green yellow blue black white.
Once again 'The Greatest Spectacle in Racing' lived up to its reputation. Who wins is just a throw of the dice, Dixon moaned he over sped into pits by 1mph but ended up from leading to back of field. Tiny mistake, huge price!
So few cautions for an Indy 500 -- until the end. Feel so bad for Dixon. Put most of these professionals like Dixon, Helio, Juan Pablo, etc. in a good car and they'll be Top 3. Dixon had the car, the talent, the right race/fuel strategy... it's 2022 can't we just push a button to get everyone to downshift, let off throttle, and brake down to pit lane speed limit (still 80 mph?).
The red flag was a disgrace to sport! If Indycar wants to create another NASCAR fake show I'm out after 32 years of following. I'm glad that Ericsson still won since he had earned it but the try by race control to turn the result upside down just for (a potentially very dangerous) show was pathetic. I immediately switched channels to watch the Icehockey World Championship final.
People complained to no end after Sato won it under yellow in 2020, so they were likely trying to avoid the same backlash. Plus, it's not like its unprecedented, they did the exact same thing in 2014 too.
@@Buynot Did that many complain? I did not have the impression. And in the Indycar fan survey the clear picture was that fans wanted no gimmicks like green-white-chequered. In 2014 it was already on the edge though at least the distance to go was several more laps than yesterday which was shorter than even a qualy run. What I want is clear rules which 100% set in stone until when a red flag with following restart can happen and ideally the restart is done with the same gaps the cars had when the red flag came. That can be done as shown with the virtual safety cars in F1 and WEC. With the gaps in place I'd have no problem even with one green flag lap to the finish. It must stay a sport, not a lottery for show, that's my summary.
@@Buynot In 2014 the “safer barrier” was damaged and needed repair for the race to continue. Throwing a red flag just to try to get a green flag finish isn’t just wrong it’s dangerous. Leave intentional bunching of the the field to ASSCAR!
