The way GM has handled the 6th gen Camaro is appalling. Camaro has meant so much to America for over half a century, and to let it die like this is just sickening. The brand and it's fans deserve much better than this. It just seems GM has no love for this car anymore. Oh well. As long as I can afford one, I will eventually own a 6th gen - although I fully expect used prices to skyrocket. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the hell out of my 2010 SS and will never get rid of her.

I was going to get a collectors ZL1, but I thought the price was way too much for stickers and decals. So I ended up ordering a 2023 Corvette 2LT Z51. Better buy in my opinion.
Def not a better buy, I’ve owned both. Camaro is a sledge hammer C8 is a cream puff.
GM is a prime example of an affirmative action CEO who has no business in that position. Stock prices have been flat for 15 years except for a small spike during Covid.
I really miss the days when you could walk on to a Chevy lot with a ton of these cars to pick from or they when they could simply dealer trade your configuration from the next state away. My original excitement wanting to order a '23- '24 LT1 has quickly changed to 'anything but GM' after the ridiculous supply issues and horrible dealer experiences that feel straight out of the 1980's.
The GM experience was actually better in the 80's!!! I had an order reasy to go for a 23/24 zl1...i canceled it, dont need the stress and b.s....gm either wants to, or not sell camaros...they should tell is wtf is going on... They marketed this great car, dont give 2 f**ks about it, just kill it already, couldn't care less at this point. I will build a pro touring for the 90k CDN i would have paid for a new ZL1.. their loss, i dont need the profit from the sale
Those were the days! I remember when the 2010' s arrived, our local dealer had 5 come in various LT and SS's and the wait was like 8 weeks max

Truth. I went to one dealer a couple months ago. They tried to sell me on a car that a different dealership had and "was probably on special order for a customer and not even available" but "HEY! I think I can work some magic for you. If you pay MSRP + $7k, I can probably get it for you." (This was for an LT1.) I said no. Quickly the $7k markup became just $3k, "maybe". No. "What if I was able to do MSRP for you, today, right now?"
Dude, you already lost me when you said MSRP+$7k (for a $42k car).
I went to the other dealership that actually had the car, talked with a salesguy, he said, "No, there's no special order for this. It's MSRP, no markup. Let's take a ride." Unfortunately, I'm too tall for a sunroof, which it had, so working/praying for an allocation for special order (working with the second dealership, not the first).
These prices are insane! My local dealer is trying to sell a 23 2ss 1le for $70k and I’m sure someone will buy it. I got mine at msrp for $55k and I thought that was alot. Couldn’t imagine paying over $100k for a zl1.

I got my 2023 2SS1LE, rapid blue, 6spd for 53 and change. Delivered this past March 10th

I have had zero luck getting an allocation from local dealers (NH, Boston Mass area) for an SS. I have had 2 of these so far and the cars are fantastic. It is a shame how poorly GM is sending it off. Sales would probably be decent if it was easier to get your hands on one.
Even worse here in Europe. I have a 2014 SS and there are no more new Camaros available. I think the last model sold here was the 2022. Meanwhile Mustangs are selling very well because Ford are way more clever. Damn you, GM.

@@tomquigley2123 They're the #2 Corvette volume sales dealership (nationwide). Even though I wanted a 2023 2SS1LE allocation (6spd, Rapid Blue), I chose them because of their dealer sales status at GM. I had no luck locally.
They do things differently than I've been used to, but in the end it worked out. Adam and Jacob took good care of me. I took possession on March 10th. Side note : IMO the 2SS1LE is equal to (and in some regards better) than the base Corvette. This coming from a Corvette fan. Good luck! Hope you get an allocation soon!
How can their be a back order on parts if sales are down? It doesn't make sense .it's not like they can't keep up with production. They just don't care about the Camaro
Got my new 2023 LT1 last year without markup (convertable). Considered the ZL1 at the time, but this is perfect for the need. Crazy fast and fun!! That is what is important.....Camaro V8 naturally aspirated power is fun....
GM have no car guys in front of any division. The very last was Bob Lutz. This is not the apropiate way to end the production of a great car. 🤬
GM doesn't even have a car person leading GM!
The sad bit is that I really think the Camaro could outsell the competition if GM just made an effort. It's better than so much else on the market including what the Germans and Japanese produce. But if you don't build them, you don't sell them. Even before the supply chain problems, GM never marketed the car. I sold my 2019 2SS and I regret it more every day that goes by.
Why did you sell it?
The 6th gen don't offer enough in size , space , options , colors , or performance to compete with other cars . They don't have chance to outsell the competition .
You think that's bad. I sold my 4k mile 2015 Z/28 a couple of years ago. I'm banging my head on my desk right now thinking about it.

Put my order in Aug 2022 Zl1 1LE, it arrived May 2023 very lucky to get one at MSRP. Funny the dealership had an actual waiting list for my car if I didn’t want it. It’s a complete shame GM is letting this icon die on the vine.
I feel your frustration Mat! Holding onto my ‘14, low mile Z28. Hard not to drive it though. Such a fun car! I know this isn’t a Camaro, but the CT5 V Blackwing is a 4 door race car, and available. Slim pickins for ICE GM sports cars right now. Very sad! 😢

I agree! Some women just destroy a good thing instead of building on it! I may get flack for saying that but it's the truth! Having said that, I did get a 23 2 SS Shock and Steel edition and have decked it out with a high wing spoiler and ZL 1 1LE ground effects. I paid 3 under sticker and can't really complain. :))

I knew it was going to be a nightmare getting a 2024. I only got my 2023 because someone backed out of their deal when it was in transit.
I’d be happy with a 2024 1SS or 2SS convertible. I’d even go for a 2023 1SS/2SS convertible.
I didn't realize how poor I was until I started watching this. I think I'll just keep my 1SS and continue just slowly upgrading it myself. I agree with you on one thing though, if I'm gonna spend over 60K on a vehicle its gonna be on a truck.
Hey Matt, I just spoke to an inventory Manager yesterday and he asserted that the allocation numbers you are sharing which he also shared with me are NOT for the entire year but rather current allocations available at that moment. 😁
Does this mean allocations should increase in the fall?
I got lucky picked up my red hot 2SS 1LE today took about 3 months for my build
I was told by a Glendale, Ca dealer that they would mark it up $25,000.00. Thus, about $125,000.00. I called a dealership in Sacramento and they had a $50,000.00 mark up. I have a order in for a ZL1 no track package.

@@normcano5938 yes. The order is in but hasn’t been accepted yet by Chevy.
I asked the dealer that I used to buy my last two ZL1s if they had an allocation, but I had to basically harass them for a month until they finally admitted that they can't even get an allocation for ANY Camaro, much less a ZL1. I tried another dealer closer to me that is a high-volume seller, but they said so far, they've only had a single allocation for a Camaro, and they used that for an SS for a previous customer. They said they'd place me next on the list, but I'm not optimistic that I'll be able to order my last ZL1. I still have my 2021 ZL1 with only 9500 miles, so I'm still happy with it.

I checked with 4 SoCal Chevy dealers and no one had allocations. I have a ZL1, I wanted a CE. I would have pulled the trigger IF i could have gotten one at a reasonable price. To pay Corvette money to purchase a ZL1 is not in the plan. RIP ICE Camaro . . . . . . .
100K plus for a sticker package is just ridiculous. You did the right thing by moving forward to something else.

Also if you are going to get an AT4 I would recommend the AT4X. Its an amazing truck. I love everything about my truck. Especially the upgraded shocks it comes with and the interior specifically made for the AT4X. Its literally the Off-Road Denali

Been trying for the last 2 years to get an allocation up in Canada, but none were available. Preorders took the only 2 to 3 per dealership that were given. This time I made sure my order went in as soon as they opened.
Absolutely NO to the Mustard yellow. To each their own, but the Bumblebee yellow and Shock yellow were both better than this gold-ish Grey Poupon "yellow"🤢🤢. I think you made the correct choice NOT paying 100k+ for a 6th Gen CE with stickers and badges...100% NOT worth it. Great video Matt! 👍😁👌. Side note...I have a 2020 Satin Steel Silverado Trail Boss(1500) with the 6.2 and love it so I am VERY confident you'll love the AT4!💪🙌😊

I tried getting a 23 but the dealership couldn't get a response on any of the cars they inquired about so I put a order in for a 24 2ss but am waiting on an allocation for the order to move forward
The sales are crap because no dealers have them to sell. In my area you do a internet search and closes SS is over 100 phucking miles away! I get tired of walking into a Chevy dealer and they have phucking nothing! They ask me if I want to order and tell them to phuck off! Luckily I already have my 17' SS 6 speed manual that I love and plan to keep. Over 64k miles now and still runs like new.✊😁

I did the same thing as you once I saw the collector edition prices. Canceled my order and got a z71 suburban that was in transit to the dealer.

Have a turbo four with a six speed in wild Cherry now.

100k+ for the collectors. Might as well buy a regular zl1 and take it to Hennessy for 55k. Not only will you get Hennessy badging but you'll get more performance.

Dont pay that money for a ZL1 when you could find a 2500 AT4 and keep building the SS because that truck can tow that car to the track and race it and have a daily driver, just my opinion thats all 🙏🏻

I walked into a dealership in Michigan and ordered a zl1. It was late march. I got my car early June. I didn't get marked up and I'm happy
They discontinued Rapid Blue which was dumb in my opinion. I just bought a 2023 SS convertible in rapid blue in Indiana because they dont have any in IL sitting on any lots at all. The ones coming in transit are 3 to 6k over MSRP. I still got mine for supplier price. 2k off MSRP and 750 rebate. So saved almost 6k by going to Indiana!
The prices make me sick. I have a 2011 with 132K on it and I REALLY wanted to go buy a new one this final year, but the prices are ridiculous. I just can't afford it. My wages certainly have not gone up to match car prices.
Have you heard anything about the Garage 56 edition? Again just another sticker package but it does add the front dive planes. Plus the American flag decal on the scoop is so cool. Gotta love the Riptide Blue Metallic.
You're so right about sales. I saw all these people posting that article about sales up and i look at it and i'm thinking are you dumb? 9,000 in a quarter is 36,000 in a year. that's awful.

Ordered a 23 2SS back in first week of March. Order has not been accepted. As you know 23 production ends August 3rd with 24s starting the 7th. Thoughts of possibly moving to a 24 at this point?
In my opinion the reason why you can’t find anything but a base model is because of the EPA and the government. I’ve got some different builds into my local dealership and while I was there the dealer explained to me how the government regulates manufacturers selling v8s. Pretty much they told me they have to sell so many 4 and 6 cylinders to be able to sell v8s. Just a speculation though.
I've seen Nitro Yellow on a new blazer, and while I like yellow/black generally speaking, Nitro Yellow is a very bronze like brown and quite dark.
Missed out on getting a '23 ordered because GM was sooo tight-lipped about the '24 CEs, I waited too long and May was just too late to get the order in, so I'm paying $2400 more for the same car and I can't get the Shadow gray I wanted. My '24 order did get picked up and it looks like the original TPW has been moved from the first week to the last week of August, if your screenshot is accurate. The order is a Radiant red 2SS 1LE, for MSRP. I used to work at the dealer I'm buying from.

I dunno. I miss the original yellow. Nitro yellow looks like they copied the shade from old dried up mustard. Both in photos and in-person. The whole reason I got into Camaros was because of the yellow car from Transformers but THIS? This ain’t Bumblebee, at all. Sad face. Sad face.

I bought a ZL1 a month ago at MSRP of 76 K. Not 1LE but regular ZL1 with some extras. Someone ordered it but can not pay for it. Just arrived to dealer , one look , love at first sight and done. I was there to order Corvette. More happy actually. More daily driving car then corvette. Waiting for ordering Corvette was 1.5-2 years and 3-6 months for Camaro. More or less same waiting period at different dealers . For god sate. Just drive it. Just focus on enjoyment of driving experience. Leave the other sh…. alone. What a surprise. I love this car. It is animal. Seems you can buy at at MSRP now. Problem is waiting for it. Just be patient. 2-3 years people will beg you to sell it to them. V8 is dying now. Get a one. If you are serious driver

I went to my local dealer here in the Bay Area, California. They let me order a ZL1 1LE and had me do the credit application. But I’m not sure if that’s a guarantee I got the build approved

I did get an allocation for the Collectors Edition ZL1, and they did a markup of $10k. Yes I feel like an idiot for paying it, but I also wanted the car. Hopefully it will hold value. If I can drive it for 6 months to a year and get out of it close to purchase price, it’s a win. But then again, it will likely plummet in value
I don’t know how true the numbers are, I have friends with orders from last year that aren’t being fulfilled and they don’t even know if they will be built

So 12 weeks ago I got allocation for a ZL1 1LE but haven’t heard anything since. They said it would most likely take 6 months to get built. So October hopefully. They are only marking it up 5k to 84k total price. Still paying anything over MSRP sucks and the waiting is worse.

Hey, Thanks for the updates... just watched your video. I ordered my 23 ZL1 in February and waited until late April for allocation. The down side was that I had built a ZL1 LTE But never got allocation. My dealer called me in April and told me that I would do myself a favor to order the ZL1 with everything but the suspension and the rear "wing" I could get it since they just got an allocation for a ZL1 . That was in April... well here I am3 months later.. they tell me it went into production just before the 4th of July but the order is showing that its still in Detroit.... The dealer has been good so far but they keep getting conflicting info on the order. we thought it would be delivered on the third week of July but it showed the VIN and it was still waiting for transport. the delivery was now slated for October... OCTOBER??? then within days it turned to August 8th..hasnt changed since... I am an owner of a 15 Mustang GT that I built out to have over 500 HP on the wheels and topped off with a #100 of nitrous. I decided to move to the Camaro since it was going to be the last year of real production... I am hoping that they stick with the price that was built so I don't get killed when it comes in. Let me know your thoughts.... Thanks again..
I Decided to buy a brand new built 23 ZL1. Dealer told me I could get one but allocation is very difficult. Additionally, their going to be going over list (50k or more). Honestly, I'm glad I didn't wait, because there's no noticeable differences to power or pretty much design. I'm going to enjoy my 23 zl1 and keep lower miles on it - in decades, it'll be worth something so much more (I wouldn't sell anyways!)

I heard weeks ago about Lancing plant tours during woodward dream cruise and introduction of 24 model since then can't find anything

GM also shouldn't be discontinuing colors before the end of a model year.
My Camaro SS 1LE was totaled. I ordered a 2023 ZL1 in Shadow Gray in late April, but they discontinued that color for the 2023 Camaros early May, so my order was never accepted.
So the only options now are overpriced used models or a 2024 ZL1 with a 5k higher MSRP, followong the 2023 MSRP increase! Not cool

We are at the end of an era. Not only are hi performance gasoline engines going away, but drag strips across the country are under attack by urban sprawl. Heartland Park in Topeka KS announced they are going to close at the end of the year. Many NHRA records have been set at that track, but like other well known tracks, they are being forced out of business. Sad days indeed.
3 months ago you may have seen Cam sales have been low but all of the Cams "In Transit" now are all sold. There are Cams on the road and there are "some" 1LEs avail used. I'm having a hard time finding one (2022-24).
Is the SS 1LE manual trans geared different from the SS Manual trans? Is it closer ratio than the SS manual?

I was at CamaroFest and the color looks better in person but personally I wouldn't get that color. It reminded me of the Gold Rush paint Dodge put on the Chargers and Challengers recently.
With your flex fuel kit from lethal garage, when put on, will it work if a cam is installed?
I have a 5th gen l99. I want to run e85/cam/better cylinder heads/intake
When my buddy did his cam on the same car as I he had to change out the fuel pump, he went with the zl1 fuel pump, not sure what year
I just don't want to buy your kit than won't be able to use it cause I'd have to run a different fuel pump system and then may turn out that your e85 flex fuel kit wont work with my set up

Typically most builders tuners will want you to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors if you have a cam and other supporting mods.
Camaro sales are bad because of GM ,I am 8 months into waiting for my 2SS 1LE ,I ordered a 2023 with no luck ,the dealer lied and said they had an allocation wen they didn't, So wen 2024 ordering opened I ordered 5 1LEs from 5 different dealers and luckily one if the 5 got an allocation and my car is in transit .If people were able to order a car sales would've been much better,poor sales is gms fault

Theres a SS at my local dealership that ive been keeping my eye on its been sitting on their showroom for 3 months now because they refuse to remove their 10k mark up. Not paying 10k over sticker for an automatic.
Not just different color stitching and optional badging and a different hood scoop. Just make a Corvette killer and it will sell a lot of cars
What about allocations for the ss collectors edition. I haven’t heard or seen anything about them. Not even an option on gms website. Can’t even spec a 2024 where I live on gms website
Trying to upgrade to a 2024 Camaro 2SS (Riptide Blue) and man, it’s hard to find an allocation here in NE Florida. I have 2 orders in, after a week they are in 1100 status and I’m predicting it will be that way for a few months if not ever :(

Yeah, i'm near Jax and noticed the same thing. I suspect its better to travel outside the region than deal w/ some of these local clown dealers. I just keep having 2nd thoughts about paying msrp+ for a factory order on an 8 year old design. Might be worth talking to dealers in cold weather markets later this year when their sport car sales die off.
@@normcano5938 you can build a 2023 model, bring into any Chevrolet dealership and tell them you want to order a 2024. Idk if there will be a 2024 configurator or when it will be released.

@@mikedaleiden7725 yep, 100%. Im able to get under MSRP but that’s because I negotiated that I’m not buying a Collectors Edition or a ZL1. Just a standard 2SS with 2 options, lol.
I ordered at two dealerships and at the larger one Im 3rd in the list so we will see if I’m lucky or not. I don’t need the car so Ill wait until January if I have to.

I think the Z28 will get a higher return on investment than a collector ZL1 and the investment is less up front
