Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.

we run the libra grain card weight scaleing system its easy to in stall just mount it on the frame and connect the wire from the scale and a ipad no more wires going to cab awsome tells you the bushels an acre at the end of the field

Thinking about all the stuff you've seen at the show, what are some things that are on the edge of technology which may be in the fields soon, vs, technology that is truly in development and might be in the fields in the far future.
Looking to hear commentary which offers industry insights on technology and what's going on. Maybe I should start subscribing to industry publications.
Good questions. Hard to say what was there that's a little more far off before we see it in the field but for the stuff that's close I would say the bigger drone sprayers that were all over. That tech is there and waiting on regulatory to catch up.

My neighbour had a jcb a massive grain farmer and former massive dairy farmer and it was sitting more than used cause couldn't get parts so he got rid of it cause he couldn't get parts for it
One question I had after going to the show is why do all the European tractor companies paint their tractors a terrible shade of green?!
