I don't see how can anyone who have at least once tested the A15, want to get back to hearing music on any Apple product. After listening to this, every Apple thing is garbage.
TigasFMS Eww, how can you even use that junk man, seriously. You must be embarrassed, right? When will people understand that Fiio is not audiophile but high end Chinese junk.
I've waited 2 years for a Walkman like this. I always wanted to hear the s-master equalizer, but sony always reserved it for their touchscreen players, but not anymore.
Youre so cool! I dont suppose Ive watch anything like this before. So good to seek out someone with some unique ideas on this subject. realy thank you for beginning this up. this youtube video is one thing that is needed on the internet, somebody with a bit originality. helpful job for bringing one thing new to the internet!
Hi everyone, I'll buy this MP3 two days a go, but I deleted the guide that was installed above for accident. my Question now is : How can I Create folders? or put songs in them and read them? thakns in advance for everyone answer me.
I've got a pair of Bowers & Wilkins wireless P5 headphones with aptX built in. Will I hear any difference in my lossless files between this model and a standard Sony MP3 player?
Is the DSEE better on the Walkman's than Xperia's? The DSEE built into the Shake-77 actually makes the music sound quite good but I just leave it turned off on my Z3, it makes it sound really tinny.
Anyone here had bought the NWZ-A20 series? I've been wondering whether the Noise Cancelling feature only works with proprietary In-ear/on-ear headphones or should I just go get a Fiio X3?
will it come to the united states anytime soon? what if i order it from amazon? can it be shipped? im glad i found this. i hate touch screen mp3. i dont like how apple got rid of the click wheel ipods
Are you for real? This has audio that is a million times better than the psp! If you think the pssp has good audio than you seriously dont know anything about audio!
This thing is terrible. I tried it for 4 hrs before deciding to send it back. Without EQ, it's a bland example of hi res audio (I was using it with 24bit/96khz files), and unfortunately the EQ on it sucks hard. Only 6 bands, 5 of which are dedicated to mid to high end frequencies, leaving the dreaded 'Clear Bass' band for the low end. And it only moves up from 0 to +3db, not down! Not only that, but when engaged it does some sort of hack compression job on the file that sounds absolutely horrible (akin to auto levels on the old cassette recorders). Not enough amp power to drive decent over ear headphones either. Avoid like the plague if you have good ears.
Hope Hurteau I'm glad it's working for you. It may have something to do with the fact that I work quite freqently in production situations (video/audio editing, theatre production, music recording, etc.) where you use compression as a tool - you learn to hear it a mile away. If it works for you then let 'er rip!
spbjr82 a 2007 interface isn't always a bad thing. i like the idea of an mp3 player that's both new and old in the way it's done. but i agree with you on the transferring and firmware
+spbjr82 The interface does go back to before 2007 and it is similar to the interface of the first Sony MP3 Walkman (an NWZ-A810). Sony has improved the interface while keeping the same look and feel, and I find the interface very usable (and much more usable than that of the iPod Classic). About the only change I'd like to see to the interface is the ability to change the items on the main screen so that you can replace the items that you don't use with items that you don't use. As an example, I don't use Bluetooth so it would be nice to replace it with something like a shortcut to a playlist that I do use. Concerning the transferring of files to my player, I haven't found it too slow considering how much space there is to fill. I use Media Go to manage the music on my player and I recently did a complete reload of the music on my internal memory. The reload took about 2 hours. The only time I've found file transfer to be very slow is when the files must be autocoverted (say, from FLAC to MP3) before they are loaded on the player.
ALAC/FLAC/WAV in 24bit sampled at 96khz or higher is in theory better than CD quality (16bit/44khz), so this marketed as "hi-res audio". In practice however, you won't be able to hear any difference. There has been conducted several blind tests on this, and no-one has ever been able to tell the difference. What audiophiles are hearing is placebo, and now Sony and other brands are trying to market their devices to these deluded audiophiles. That's pretty much the gist of it.
dir390 I've played MP3 and FLACs through my set up. I could hear the difference but its small. Minute details but that's it. Maybe it's just my set up. Old Rotel CD player. Old but gold.
John Cooper I wasn't talking about lossy formats like mp3, I was talking about lossless 16bit vs 24bit audio (24bit/96khz and greater is what is marketed as "high-res audio".) With lossy formats, you can hear a difference depending on the codec and the quality setting.
I can think of two reasons for not including headphones with the player: - Including good-quality headphones with the player would significantly increase the cost of the player. - It lets the user choose headphones they want, and not be stuck with a pair of headphones they wouldn't use. As an example, most players that come with headphones come with earbuds and that is the one type of headphones I won't use due to comfort and sound quality. I prefer on-ear headphones (I currently use a set of Koss Porta Pros).
I have the NWZ-A17 (the higher memory version of this player). To turn it off, just press and hold the Option Button, and it will power off after a few seconds.
Sony Walkman even lost to Fiio in sound reproduction department. I will never by a sony. I recently bought Acoustic Research .the sound is better than those China made. I don't think Sony can come near.
You realize that there are a ton of companies that make portable standalone media players, right? Not just Sony. You know why? People buy them, jackass.
Sony I'm glad you have brought the Walkman back to life cause not everyone is into the apple crap.
+safire4real straight up !
I don't see how can anyone who have at least once tested the A15, want to get back to hearing music on any Apple product. After listening to this, every Apple thing is garbage.
iTunes is surprisingly large for something so simple just to transfer music into and out from.
Apple is crap
Great design. The metal colour make people get addict to it.
Easily the best music players on the market, I have one ^_^
nope f886 is better
Mickice Fiio X1 disagrees
TigasFMS Eww, how can you even use that junk man, seriously. You must be embarrassed, right? When will people understand that Fiio is not audiophile but high end Chinese junk.
Mickice You can't be serious ahah
TigasFMS Dead serious, hope your shit lasts longer than mine did. Will never buy from them again and tell friends not to as well.
for every time she uses the letter s, RIP headphone users
Finally I can buy the New (Silver color) A series!!
Ive been waited for it!!
Thanks! A850. Hello A10!
What about replacing the battery? How do we replace the battery??
What more I like on walkmans than FiiOs is the GUI and still offering great sound quality
thanks sony!!! I love it!
Nice
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!
I've waited 2 years for a Walkman like this. I always wanted to hear the s-master equalizer, but sony always reserved it for their touchscreen players, but not anymore.

This codec needs to be spread!
I want one

I like it 🙌
I will get one as soon
Thx for you, Sony. I bought it one year ago and my friends still asking are you sure about that specs? We cant find a similar device!
whats the charger on it though, proprietary?
i noticed they dodged the charging port hardcore, you would expect type c or at least usb micro b
I have jbl on ear headphones, Sony speaker and that walkman. 😂😂 what a jbl 😂😂
Hi everyone, I'll buy this MP3 two days a go, but I deleted the guide that was installed above for accident. my Question now is : How can I Create folders? or put songs in them and read them? thakns in advance for everyone answer me.
Want it NOW
Can you put a 128gb SD?
Yes :)
i love sony for this!!! when is it coming out in singapore?
Make this again with a 21:9 OLED screen same size! triple the pixels and make the battery life 70 hours! With Micro USB or USB C
Question: even connected to a Bluetooth headphones it will have a 30 hrs playback ?
If only you can make playlists on the computer for this mp3 player.
Yes, you can. I've been using my NWZ-A17 with Media Go and it is fairly easy: Create the playlist in Media Go, then send them to the player.
can someone from sony please tell us when exactly is this available in stores????
хочу! куплю!
I've got a pair of Bowers & Wilkins wireless P5 headphones with aptX built in. Will I hear any difference in my lossless files between this model and a standard Sony MP3 player?
What's the difference between A15 and A17 model?
is it waterproof?
Is the DSEE better on the Walkman's than Xperia's? The DSEE built into the Shake-77 actually makes the music sound quite good but I just leave it turned off on my Z3, it makes it sound really tinny.
Maybe I will buy it, !sounds good¡

Can I buy A15 in the US instead of A17?
is it aluminum or plastic?
Can you download the amazon music app on this device?
will it come to the united states anytime soon? what if i order it from amazon? can it be shipped? im glad i found this. i hate touch screen mp3. i dont like how apple got rid of the click wheel ipods
how much memory in a microSD card can this MP3 player support
+Hope Hurteau cheers mate
Does this have the same quality as the PSP? Usually have mines on "Unique" and it sounds impeccable. Looking for an mp3 similar to that.
Are you for real? This has audio that is a million times better than the psp! If you think the pssp has good audio than you seriously dont know anything about audio!
+Hope Hurteau Thanks for the response! I'll definitely look into it.
A15 and A17, what's the difference??
16GB internal memory for a15 and 64GB internal memory for a17, both have SD card slot up to 128GB !
Valère cool thx
Valère planning to get A15. A17 is way expensive
This video only came out 3 years ago yet can't buy this anywhere :(
Same cant find one anywhere

Yes theres noo earphone. Weird. It wouldve been more expensive if it had one i guess
can it play aac/mp4 files from itunes?
It will play unprotected AAC files from iTunes.
I like and own this but the software needs rethinking as it's to slow transferring and the firmware and interface looks like it's from 2007

No earphone? :(
ruby zamora including cheap earphones in a Hi-Res music player would make no sense

or just buy a phone =D
nope. i tried putting music on the phone. didnt like it
negrophiliac well that sucks
ChickeNxT and what if you're someone who doesn't want to own a phone?
***** well then u could get a tablet?
ChickeNxT but what if I don't want all the extra features the tablet comes with? What if I just want the features the A15 has?
sony are you fucking serious? nobody would buy a standalone music player.
I would. My phone can't hold all of my music, plus you can get better sound quality.
You realize that there are a ton of companies that make portable standalone media players, right? Not just Sony. You know why? People buy them, jackass.
What's the difference between A15 and A17? Both look the same to me
Caedíte eos thx man
