Just successfully finished this project on a resurrected Cetus X. Thanks for this awesome video....followed it step by step (including the mount from RDQ) and it worked very well.
What are the flight times before and after and with out the camera connected does it still drain that much battery without accounting for aero dynamics and a little extra weight
I have since 2023-04 an antenna mod video. In my opinion the perfect antenna for the Cetus X FPV kit suitcase and for other quads with a circular antenna ! As an example: If you want to fly another drone with the kit, such as the Happymodel Crux35.

Is it possible to solder the FC wire going to the camera so that there was not only the power but also the on / off video recording control, which is set for the buttons in the "betaflight configurator"? Sorry if this is a stupid question, this is my first drone and I have not figured it out yet)

Looking for advice. Would you get the Cetus X and Thumb 4k, or the GEPRC TinyGo 4k? What is the better choice? The better video quality is the priority for me.
@@thegerisz The TinyGo, and I was happy with it. Decent, not terrific, video quality. Unfortunately, I lost it yesterday. I got a bit throttle happy, flew it too high and wind took it away. Spent 3 hours looking for it in the crowded park, but no luck. I mention this because I think I will replace it, because I was happy with it.
@@thegerisz Forgot to mention, if you get Tiny Go 1.3, it has a black box, and it provides gyro data (.gcsv) in sd card. Mine did, and was advertised as 1.3. If you buy directly from GEPRC it will definitely have it. The older versions might not, but even then it can be added rather easily.

I tried a similar setup on Geprc Thinking P16. I got a reduction in flight time from 7 minutes to 4 indoors, strong vibrations when flying through doorways. Do you plan to tell how you will set up pids?
Bro, the standard video system antenna is very weak, how far can you fly away and what about the obstacles? According to my feeling, I constantly see interference at a very close distance.

I ordered a thumb for the cetus x and a thumb pro-w for my 3,5" quad. I gonna use the naked thumb (only pcb no case) on the cetus x.

I used to fly at the Marshall Middle school all the time! That abandoned building down the railroad tracks over there is a pretty fun spot too 🙌

Havn't you tryed uart controll? As I understood thumb has a support of it's own protocol in betaflight

Great idea, but I would chose the Insta360 GO2 for this. You don't have to solder anything, because the insta is autark
True you won't have to solder, but the Go 2 weighs about double the runcam thumb.
Plus it doesn't film in 4k.

I think i will give up my plan to change the frame to a 2,5" carbon. Because I will use it as a Cinewhoop for save 4K flights close to people...

since the aquila is 1s it probably stuggels a bit more with the weight
