Join me as I install these beautiful new LS 2 piece valve covers by Holley Performance on our junkyard 6.0 LS engine. www.holley.com... Email: InTheShopTV@gmail.com #LSbuild #Holley #LSswap
Sometimes i use a cup of freshly boiled ater to soak rubber parts in for fitment. Softens, and lubes. Just gotta use a plier and gloves to fitch and fit
@@intheshoptv binge watching all sorts of LS builds at the moment. Thinking of refreshing my LS1 in the old commodore. Thinking 4" stroke kit. Plane and port the 241 heads to get 11:1 compression. Redux ITB's for throttle. 8x55mm straight into the port with a good runner, as apposed to a fast intake with a single 102mm body. Should give twice as much atmosphere to the valve. Not sure on cam yet. Might have to build the motor and design cam to chase the piston. Don't wanna crash the piston and valves on start up. LoL Hello from all the way over here in New Zealand
@@russcole5685 Sounds like a beast! Good luck! @@intheshoptv LoL 🤣. Cheers man, we also have our mongrels, like many places. LoL. I hope my build works out. It's a street car, so I'm wanting as flat a torque curve I can get, good low end, great mid, not really care out the top end. Don't really have the roads to open it up, unless the odd track day once a year. It's a 6Sd manual too, basically a 4 door, family car version of a corvette in a way, if you're unfamiliar with the body type. '04 Holden Commodore HSV Clubsport sedan if you wanna google
I really like to look of them. O wouldnt mond a set for my 04 Holden Commodore VY HSV Clubsport sedan. Tidys things up, and gives some retro linage look to it
You should moisten the grommets with a dab of oil just so they don't want to grab the aluminum when you're snugging them down. The silicone spray will work too. Just so their wet with something
They’re great. I believe I saw a non-Holley branded set the other day. Can’t speak fir the quality but they looked the same at most likely a fraction of the price.
You would think holley and their R&D department would have fixed the issue of having to remove the cover and 1 of the coils to add oil. They look good but 20 to 30 min to add oil is ridiculous.
Honestly these valve covers are more meant for those that have show cars, high dollar builds, weekend toys etc. Most people aren’t putting $500 valve covers on the grocery getter anyway, so four little bolts to get to the oil fill once in a blue isn’t much concern. Also, I found out that if you use gen5 coils, they DO clear the oil fill cap and dont have to be removed.
Ive heard a few people raise that question/concern and my own curiosity/research has yielded not one single case of that happening. We each have to draw our own conclusions but my research conclusions made me feel comfortable enough to put them on my frame off resto.

I used to do that with hoses and push lock fittings

Yeah I use silicone spray a lot.
VERY CLEAN look!
Thank you!
Love them bro I am definitely getting me a set for my LS build .watching your video just sealed the deal 👍

Those are proven for a solid 10hp gain. I know it!
At least! 😜
Those valve covers kick ass I'm totally getting a set of plain black
Yeah they are really nice. The gloss red and orange are really hot too.
They are $600 lol
@@Getitstraightyo Building show cars aint’ cheap brother
No fluff or filler....started my LS build and I will need your video to close it out. Thanks.
Good luck, and thanks for watching!

Really nice covers! I have a 05 Gto, with the LS 2, iwonder if these would be available with the Pontiac or GTO logo.
Thanks! Holley doesn’t but Butler makes a bunch of Pontiac and GTO branded LS valve covers. You’d need a coil relocation kit though.
Make more videos man
Another one coming tomorrow! Share the new channel… help spread the word brother. And thanks for watching!
You still with us? Got over 100 now!
If someone finds removing 4 easy to get to bolts to add oil annoying then they should be doing this to begin with
Totally agree. Its a non-issue as far as I’m concerned. Thanks for watching
Do you think these will cause heat soak on the coils and trap the heat?
Ive heard a few people raise that question/concern and my own curiosity/research has yielded not one single case of that happening. We each have to draw our own conclusions but my research conclusions made me feel comfortable enough to put them on my frame off resto.
Is the Chevrolet sign actually metal casting, or does Holley use a decal sticker?
Its cast
@@intheshoptv Thank you
@@615JOHNLEE you’re very welcome!👍
Now how will you vent the crank case. In other words where does the pvc valve go now ?
Both valve covers have metal vent elbows just like OE.
Okay but how do i add my catch can kit?
