    I enjoyed it for it's originality and it's use of various items and such. There were several great moments, but I can't say I was moved in any way. This is no fault of the composer or performers, mine alone. I don't feel like I truly understand this music. It was unique and colorful, but beyond then pitch bending with the second set of mallets (which BLEW MY FUCKING MIND) it felt sporadic and random at times. At the end of the day, I'm glad that music like this exists because I know there's people out there who do thoroughly enjoy and are moved by these things. Bravo to all involved.

    I have a problem, I'm great at drumset, snare, and auxiliary(for my level) but I'm bad at mallets, it's a matter of sight reading, and just reading mallet music in general. I'm used to reading things on one line( minus drum set because that's a different story) so if someone can reply how to practice sight reading or tips, or just mallet things in general, thanks

    • @Celia100

      Sniker Chiken try playing scales without seen the marimba/xilo/etc, so your muscles memorise where the notes are and then, try sight reading with double and quarter notes + slow tempo

      For me, I went online, and found a bunch of random pages of marimba music, like one or two lines of it. For me, I just practiced a lot. Start out simple and then ease into more difficult music. Hope this helped!

    • @mycatwasfatterthanthis
      @mycatwasfatterthanthis 6 лет назад

      Whatever mallet music you are working on, force yourself to read it with without looking at the instrument. There will be some wrong notes, but you will get the feel for it. Resist the urge to look down at the keyboard while you are reading. This will make you a much better reader.
      As an additional tip for this, hover your mallets over the first two notes of a passage to give you a starting point to continue without looking.
