@@JT-km6th Generally, in business, that is true...the newer product needs to be pushed to ensure survival. The problem in this case is that the old product (Jordan) is so vastly superior to the new one (James), it's obvious to anyone with an objective eye! In terms of securing the future of the NBA, I think the league and people in general need to start accepting the fact that Jordan was one of one. An anomaly. There is no 'next Jordan'. He accomplished the rare feat of transcending his Sport and reached the heights of Ali and Babe Ruth. He set the bar so high that he became the gold standard, not only for Basketball players, but for Athletes across all sports. That standard is damn near impossible to reach. Kobe came the closest and though he became an All-Time NBA legend in his own right, he failed to reach Jordan's level. Lebron has spent his entire career 'chasing the Ghost in Chicago' and after 21 years the gap between them is wider than ever, sadly James has become so obsessed with that chase that he has resorted to trying to tear MJ down and we all know the impact that is having on his legacy. The only way that the league can successfully move on from Jordan is to stop looking for the 'next Jordan'. He is out of reach. Unattainable. Retiring his jersey league wide would cement that. Maybe then the comparisons would stop. Maybe then new up-and-coming players would be allowed to forge their own paths. The future of the NBA relies on the new generation of players being given a chance to redefine greatness because Jordan will never be matched. Period.

In one game the Lakers came back to win., the analysts, after the game, claimed it was a LeDummy steal that started the 4th quarter come back. LeDummy had no steals in the 4th quarter. The analysts just made it up.
There are times when they show stats of various Lakers players in a game - show LeDummy's minutes or shot attempts in the row where for everyone else they show pts - that's to make it seem LeDummy had more points than everyone else in games when he didn't.

@@erenyeagar7232 I don't like Lebron but I actually have a lot of respect for his abilities. He's easily in the top 10 best players ever. Lebron can be an intense competitor. I feel like he doesn't play with the manic intensity of Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, or Michael Jordan. Lebron doesn't take the risks that Larry Bird or MJ does at the end of games. Let's be fair, if he knows that taking the big shots in crunch time isn't his strong suit, I can applaud that. Better to know your strengths and play to them than ignore your weaknesses and lose because of them.
Lebron James wouldn't be my first choice for any position if I were building a franchise, though part of that could be nostalgia for some players, and part of that is the knowledge that Lebron is loyal to himself first, rather than the team. Here is the simple reality. Any excuse, even if true, should be invalid for Lebron. The man has "The Chosen 1" tattooed on himself as if he is The Golden Child from Eddie Murphy's 1986 movie The Golden Child.
If a person is The Chosen 1 of anything, that means that person is MILES above everyone else - special, magical, never before seen. In sports, the person would have to be 70 years old before dropping down to what is average talent.

I excluded LeNonGoat James from my All-Time top ten because fuck him. He’s the King of a fallen kingdom. His influence has been negative on the league overall. He’s still a draw in terms of attention for the league, but he’s doing more harm than good. The NBA sucks and he’s one of the reasons why. Guys like Jordan played on crappy teams that built up talent around them gradually. It took years for Pippen to develop into an all-star and more years until he was mentally tough enough to actually win with, as the only other all-star on the team. Lebron bails whenever there’s too much adversity in a situation. What he did going to Miami was like if Isiah Thomas joined the lakers with Magic and Charles Barkley in 1989.
Since 2011 he’s played with more all-stars on his teams in Miami, Cleveland and LA than Jordan and Kobe did on their teams.

In 2 out of the 4 games in the 2018 finals, the Cavaliers were in the hunt of winning. In Game 3 they had the lead with 4 minutes left on the clock and he refused to guard Kevin Durant 1 on 1. He was letting JR Smith, who was too little, and Tristan Thompson, who was too slow, get cooked by Durant. And then he gave up in Games 2 and 4. And when he lost, he wrapped his wife's scarf around his hand, pretended that it was a cast, and said he was "basically" playing 3 games with a broken hand. Funny how we never saw that in the aftermatth of Game 1 or 2 or 3.

Nah bro he was from NC its totally different when youre basically endowed with a mission to get it done for your people that have suffered heartbreaking moments so imfamous they start with THE............and to some extent thats why he embraced it and even advertised it. Cause it was a mountain very few athletes have had to scale. Only comparison i can think of are Olympic athletes. Now yeah did it go too far? Absolutely. 2016 gave you a right to sit at the table of all time greats in my opinion. But not to throw the crown on your own head.

@@TheRealMindCrime Yup, that's what I meant, it's not something outrageous as "king", or "Chosen1" with nothing to show for. MJ even said that he deplored being called "Captain" as it disrespects the other greats in the league since he considers himself at the bottom of the totem pole. LBJ lacks humility and needs to be pegged down a bit. Once he retires everyone will definitely say what they really think about him. That's one of the reasons why he's still hanging on and playing.

I'm surprised I haven't heard anyone else make the analogy of LeBron and Anakin. Both were called, "The Chosen One" off sheer potential rather than accomplishment. Both of them, to some degree, rejected mentorship to guide them towards realizing their potential. Both took short-sighted, immoral, and ultimately detrimental paths of achieving said potential. Both became unrecognizable antagonists to the bright future they had when they were young. And both have left those who have watched their stories unfold with the question, "What would they have become if they did things the right way?".

I think the issue stands with access to instant information with evolution of technology has allowed for ensuing generations to never learn how to learn but spew information from the internet. my generation was really the turning point where we laugh cause yes we do have a calculator in our pockets at all times but now no one learns how to math. Subsequently, evidence and facts are not enough to change someones mind or convictions. Lebron loyalists can not be convinced because how we see the NBA as softer and weaker they see it as more innovative and claim more talent. the abilities of the human race have not increased. while technology has increased hard work has fallen from grace, better understanding of medicine and recovery are not actually real but a figment, ever wonder how your dad or grandfather had that old man strength, I'll tell you it was hard work day in and out, not a day off. So semantically the Jordan purists and Lebron loyalists see and define good basketball different and problem solving between the two different interpretations will never jive.
