This is literally the best she has ever sung this song... all confidence, no longer embarrassed by it like she used to express. She sounded really really good! I am so proud of her, and from that sugar pop era the most consistent and enduring performer..movies, television shows and singing.
She seems like the coolest…..super sweet lady. This beat has always been slammin since 1999. Great tune………..man……..missing stuff like this on the radio play and missing that era much like candy 🍭.
I think the confidence comes, at least in part, due to the fact that she is on stage with her husband and his amazing band - Dawes. The lead guitar is Taylor Goldsmith, and they have been married for a couple of years when this was filmed. He had a big influence on her latest album.
I love the maturity and calmness she brings to the song as an older woman. It's an entirely different interpretation and delivery of one of her classic songs..she sounds great too.
jesus christ i had the hugest crush on her growing up im about the same age as her and she aged so gracefully and can sing. its like i feel in love with her again. good for her.
This song was appropriate at the time. I wish celebs wouldn't be so ashamed! This is such a bop! It's a bit of a silly song but it brings such joy and it brought her success. So glad to see her having fun singing this. Its ok to embrace your past and let loose.
It’s a fun song, but it’s laced with sexual undertones and she was barely a teenager at the time she recorded it. She’s justifiably embarrassed by it, but it wasn’t her fault either. I can’t watch the actual music video, but I freakin’ love this live performance. She’s owning it now and it’s no longer cringe-y to watch.
I remember on a television interview she said that she hated that song and that she would never sing it again in any of her concert shows but here she is singing her heart out and I always had hope she would sing it again. I think it's her best song of her career.
I was at her concert yesterday and she said she dismissed and resented her past songs for a while but now that she is getting older she is learning to embrace it because it made her who she was.
Wow she's still singing it with the same energy and passion as when she made the music video back in 99. It is truly a blessing to see her sing this song again.
I was there. Loved the original music video. :) I wish her new album "Silver Landings" had more upbeat, fun songs like Candy. But it's the difference between Hollywood Records prouducing her first album and songs for a teen audience, and now she is writing and producing as an adult for herself.
There's those of us who fell in love with her slower more adult music. First time I heard Candy, I had just finished her Wild Hope album I think, and I couldn't even finish watching the whole song because it felt so weird. I love her new album with the slower jams.
I just wanted to clarify; Hollywood Records did not produce her first album? Epic, Sony and this company called 550 did... As for old and new Mandy; I liked old Mandy, but as a person, how she is, I could not see her making that kind of music anymore. I feel like they're two entirely different discographies (So Real/I Wanna Be With You/Mandy Moore in the first discography and Coverage/Wild Hope/Amanda Leigh/Silver Landings in the other)
Yes but i wish she sign a good Record Label to help her comback and having more good adult albums in the future....maybe a kind of ADELE albums and with great video and visuals.. All the videos from this new album kinda cheap i dont need a high budget but maybe a kind of (CRY, I WANNA B WITH U, WALK ME HOME) videos is great.
I LOVE the fact that she did this song when she was 15/16 and was a global superstar, touring with NSYNC the day after she did the music video for Candy...and here she is at 30+ grooving like 50 year old Rebecca Pearson. Its beautiful and totally how me and my friends dance these days. She can be in the "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" sequel.
I looked into her explanation for apologising for this song and it made a lot of sense. She was a kid with no involvement in the writing process. She didn't see it as her song. She, to put it in a way that makes sense to me, was the piece of the puzzle. She just sang a song like she covered somebody else. It wouldn't surprise me if that's what she meant when explaining it.
I didn't know she'd started doing this again! She did a real down-tempo fuzz-heavy version at some live show a while back that kicked all kinds of ass.
This song brings this 33 year old metal head back to a better time. Mandy Moore was def an adolescent crush of mine along with Amy smart and carmen Electra.
I love that she’s didn’t re arrange it too much. I hated how Xtina and Britney kept re arranging their old stuff so much you could barely tell it was the same song! The original arrangements are what made them popular and that’s what the fans want
I think mandy enjoys her song called candy more then she wants to admit , her body language says it all , we all love your song called candy mandy , lady fowler
Mandy has compared to her fellow 2000s generation pop stars like Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Christina Aguilera, remained normal and down to earth. Love her 😁
Suns out ,Guns out! Great job Mandy! Laundromat Jukebox jam before "Genie in a bottle" by Christina and after "Hard habit to break" by Chicago. Good times....................

Hard to believe she ever felt shy about this song. Simple, straight ahead song structure, perfectly expressed.
Thus song is nice but I liked in my pocket live version best n the video was awesome 2

The fans like it
Girl you better own this song, I sing it in the shower every morning.
❤️ I’m going start!!
@@consciouscommunity3897 hi mandy
😂😂
😂😂
She’s still got it
Voice like honey. Doesn't age.
Adults version of 'Candy' I always loved Her.
How to age beautifully like Mandy Moore?! And her voice has improved so much. She sounds so awesome! Can't wait to see how she will rock in her 40s.
I love the maturity and calmness she brings to the song as an older woman. It's an entirely different interpretation and delivery of one of her classic songs..she sounds great too.
she's so amazing. i know she HATES this song but this is my favorite song of hers.
Why does she hate it?
She’s gotten used to it
Frank Sinatra hated his most popular song it happens.
My fave as well.
She's actually gotten used to it and has made peace.
jesus christ i had the hugest crush on her growing up im about the same age as her and she aged so gracefully and can sing. its like i feel in love with her again. good for her.

I really REALLY dig this arrangement. I know she doesn't even really like this song, but goddamn this is top tier
Mandy Moore is an American gem that must be protected at all costs
Amen Ashley 🙏🙌…..she’s a kind and sweet soul in life!
Yes Agree
Agreed! 💪💎👑
Love her ❤
She sounds INCREDIBLE ✨
si, se ve que se cuido la voz bastante
I'm glad she embraced her past work. She has a great a voice, too
Loved this Mandy! Nostalgia is real. Nothing beats being a teenager in the late 90's.
*agreeing* Tell me about it lol haha 😂

All grown up. Beautiful woman. Thanks for the tune, Mandy
Wow she's still singing it with the same energy and passion as when she made the music video back in 99. It is truly a blessing to see her sing this song again.
You know who you are. Your loves as sweet as candy. I'll be forever yours, love always, Mandy.
Glad she can now embrace her experiences when she was young!
I have nothing but good things to say about Mandy. Such a beautiful woman and great singer…also that bass sounds so fucking smooth and sweet
So happy to hear Mandy singing again. The new album is awesome!
Her voice is amazing and so strong
This song was and will always be so catchy
I never thought she would sing this song again but this is even better than the original.
Wow she still sounds so good after all this time.
Its cool that she sang it again even though she hates it
She can't hate it that much because it opened doors for her career.
I couldn't stop smiling watching this. THIS IS SOOOO GOOOOD.
She has the coolest voice ever ! Damn 👏
This song is finally age appropriate.
I was thinking the same thing! ♥️
I was there. Loved the original music video. :)

This live version of Candy by Mandy Moore reminds me of late 90s early 2000s music nostalgia in a carefree and exciting way.
Whoa! Candy adult Version. Beautiful Mandy!!😍👏👏
Mandy Moore is 👑😊❤ Yeahh Candy! 2020 Version is 🤗😊 #nostalgiafeels😊
She sounds incredible. Love hearing her sing it now. Always been a big fan. Love that album.

Nice bass, and of course beauty Mandy!!😊
She looks old enough to sing this song now, unlike when she first sang it.
Lol she's too old to be singing it now... its a little baby song. But I know its fun for the fans!
@@allysonmessina1785 She is beware of that ironic of course. It's part of her history and she sang it well
She was too young to even be listening to this song when she recorded it lol
Wow this makes me feel old... I'm the same age as Mandy... Time flies lol
Ain't nothing like hearing live music, absolutely the best, she's so Awesome 👍😁❤️
Can she re-release this in this version?! I’d totally buy it. I need more of her singing in my life!

She still got me. Gotta get a moped, and learn to skate. LIKE NOW!!!!!

I remember the green Beetle vehicle, the innocence, it reminds me when my friends would hop through a window in high school (2000-2004-high school).
