Moby released a live DVD Almost Home -- Live From the Fonda L.A, on 3rd March 2014, taken from the only 3 live shows played in support of the new album Innocents at The Fonda in Los Angeles.
The DVD features collaborators from the album including Mark Lanegan, Skylar Grey and Damien Jurado and includes hits such as Go, Natural Blues and Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?

I am a female, 69 years old. What drew me to this song were the words "wake up, wake up, we're almost home". I don't remember all the details but I remember being a child, I am asleep in the backseat, my parents are in the front seat of a car, I am feeling safe and this is what they said to me. "Wake up, wake up, we're almost home. I am almost home.
The song is very emotive, as is your memory of being a child with your parents so long ago. My daughter is 14 and has similar memories arriving home to this song playing in the car.

I'm no expert on music but I don't need to be to hear the voices of Angels. I'd never heard this before. Now I find myself singing this as I go through each day. It gives me a safe place to go when I weather the storm that is life nowadays. Thank you Moby.
Moby has a video on youtube of him in is home studio, and showing how he wrote and mixed the music for this song. It's beautiful music. Then he said he sent the music to Damien Jurado (the singer in the video), and he wrote the lyrics for it. This song has fantastic, poetic lyrics that can have a different interpretation to each listener, and in my opinion, a song written in this way is truly artistic and wonderful.
I am now 72, have survived afib, blood clots and broken ribs in 2022. Hope 2023 is a better year. I realize I am "Almost Home".
i’m 64 in July. i see your 2 posts here. tears pour from my eyes from this song and I listen to it all the time. At night, I smoke a lot of pot and lay down and feel comforted. I sure miss home. ✌️💪🏻

I'm 58. I LOVED growing up in the 60's and 70's and the music that came with it. Lately, yeah.....................2018 and 19, I've been finding remarkable talent like Moby, and dear jesus..............Damien Jurado! I cry. I cry at the authenticity of these songs, the effort and dedication they put into them, the downright SOUL that they obviously sing with. Look at these people! Their EYES are wet! They feel when they sing it what I feel when I listen to it!!!! Wow!!!!! Holy hell, just WOW! The bass player, the back up singers, the CHOIR for god's sake! Wow.

I feel the same way about this song. Profoundly beautiful and soulful, like nothing I've heard in 40 years at least. Moby is a great talent and actually does put his heart and soul into his song writing and the music too. And Damien Jurado is pure, true talent, so rare these days. If you have a piano, or a guitar, try playing along with this song, it's really great.

Waited many years to see Moby play live. Drove from AZ to catch this show, it was everything I could have wanted it to be, I was overcome with emotion at so many points over the course of those 3 hours and I'll never forget it. Drove right back to AZ after the show ended, got home right around when the sun was rising, Almost Home still ringing in my ears. Thanks for such an amazing night!

Thank you for this great song......I listened to this for almost 24 hours straight after loosing my awesome nephew to bone cancer at the age of 17 a few weeks ago. So fitting ....almost home......RIP David Robbins.....I hope to see you on the other side some day.

This is quite possibly one of the most beautiful #songs I have ever heard. I have now watched this #moby song live, twice and both times, it brought me to tears. Thank you, force of the Universe, higher power, whatever, for bringing someone to this earth who can move us (me) so deeply.
Moby is in a league by himself. His music is very spiritual and it has a tendency to bring you to a higher plain only enjoyed by those of us who realize what music really does for the soul. I can't imagine a world without music. What a sad place this would be.

It's fantastic, this chord sequence is heavenly on any instrument, yet easy to play so you can really enjoy it and play it for your friends, family or at church. Just remember that Moby wrote this, brilliant artist !

@@jenniferbomkamp4958 D major, A major, G major, then back to D major. Unusual for such an emotional piece to be written in a major key, but it works. Strum those chords on your guitar, or play them on the piano and you will have fun playing along to this video, or the studio version of this song. Just remember to play around with the chords, meaning, play the arpeggios also and experiment with it and in no time you'll have the melody down too. At least that's how I do it on piano. This song sounds awesome on organ or synth too!
