Lyrics:
I'm so addicted
To the loving that you're feeding to me
Can't do without it.
This feeling's got me weak in the knees
Body's in withdrawal
Every time you take it away
Can't you hear me calling
Begging you to come out and play?
So baby come to me
Show me who you are
Sweet to me
Like sugar to my heart
oooh baby
I'm craving for you
I'm missing you like candy
Sweet sweet loving
Got me going to the extreme
Won't go without it
This vibe has gotta hold on me
Satisfying baby
Let me show what i'm made of
No doubt about it
Got me feeling crazy can't get enough. - Видеоклипы

Agreed 👍 the nostalgic memories are beautiful but painful at the same time. Time went far too fast.

I hate the present times, extreme heat 🔥🔥🥵🥵🔥🔥 across most of Europe. 😔
I'm 32 and feel like I've wasted my life. I haven't done anything since graduating besides work and buy a house. Has me questioning what the point of it all even is... bust your ass so that one day you don't have to.. but by that time you're old and life's already over. I'll actually probably be able to retire by 45.. but still, pretty much ancient at that point. Where did all the time go... The years start coming and they don't stop coming.

What do you call...normal??
Yeah, she probably would have turned out like Britney.
Maloree it's because she says in her biography she saw the writing on the wall concerning the exploitive nature of the music industry and didn't want to be part of it!
She also stated it was either this song "candy" or the recording of the entire album that allowed her to come to this epiphany or understanding that she was by nature fueling the teen depression rate as a result of the music industry's influence on young teens!
She also went on to explain that after realizing this; she herself slipped into a bought of depression and that's why for years you never heard from her again!

Bonjour memories
The nostalgia is real. As a middle-aged millennial, this song made me finally understand why boomers sometimes tear up when they hear songs from their childhood.
For real this song is so 90s and takes me back to a way simpler and happier time in my Life..Music was Great TV was Great Economy was Great Life was Great..Millennials we are the most Nostalgic and Depressed Generation and it’s because we had the rug pulled from under our feet so abruptly..I have Hope still..there’s always a way to make things work if we are willing to fight for it
@Karl M yea 9/11 fucked up alot of things..its up to us though man..as humans we have the power to create and build, if we are willing to come together and fight for our Happiness we can do it..keep Hope alive Keep that Creativity alive
@Karl M 2013/2014 tbh - unless you don't like Nicki Minaj. I found her to be entertaining. After her I went *yawn* at hit songs. For me personally, peak music was late 90s/early 2000s. There's something classic about the pop bands that kept being cranked out like uh - candy XDDDD.
@Karl M I legit had to look up the definition of nu metal on the wiki XD (There are so many subgenres of metal I get them mixed up, as I've listened to various types). I agree with your statement wholly. Linkin Park's first album got me through junior high school hell (i feel the first two albums were nu metal before they went into another direction). Also Godsmack's song "Whatever" *chef's kiss* That is an A+ song.
@Karl M Rage-atm started nu metal. Korn perfected it.

They don’t make music like this anymore.. Honestly, there’s just something about 90s music, I can’t explain but I just love it!
It's no joke.Post production wasn't so processed like it is in pop music today and not auto-tuned like crazy. And the instrumental in post production wasn't so processed.Music was also more original.
My sound is something like the late 90's and early 2000's. People criticize me a lot for being "outdated"
Yeah it's not 90's style but late 90's early 2000's style. And I miss the late 90's year 2000 life..music was a bit cheesy but ok..better than current mainstream music but life wise I would love to have that era back.
@Karl M It's sad and that's definitely true. EDM can be cool, but I love just hearing real acoustic instruments and musicians. The music from some of the greatest bands are so good that you don't even need lyrics. As a songwriter myself, the sales are sadly coming from that trend and I'm trying to keep up with the trend, but put my own spin on it with some more musicality.
@Karl M No way in the world I could forget the true Hip Hop in all of it's lyricism. I can't believe awards shows will call the mumble rap and other rap Hip Hop and categorize it as such. The Talib Kwelis, Commons, Busta Rhymes, Tribe Called Quests, and more kept it going in the 90s, but Hip Hop has been dead for some time.
Everybody's flow sounds the same now and there's no originality across the board with rap and pop music
This song is so nostalgic for me. I grew up idolizing Mandy Moore. She is such a genuine role model for tweens who followed her music/acting/career in general since she came on the map. I’m 35 now and I still bawl my eyes out watching A Walk to Remember ❤️

I'm going through a period where I'm re-examining content like this. This song came out when I was 9. I didn't know what love was or what to expect from it but I remember being excited by the idea. But being literally addicted to someone isn't love. Not in the sense of, will it lead to a good relationship to go after someone because you feel addicted to their presence/attention? No that almost always leads to a broken heart. And you're lucky if that's the only broken thing you're left with in the wake of the relationship's falling apart.
This just caused me to fall down a good 10-min rabbit hole of listening to Mandy Moore’s “Candy” era and reliving my pre-teen years. 💜
Bonjour Rachael
For some reason, maybe the way the intro is filmed, I get that distinct pre 9/11 US feeling, like 1999 was the height of American peace, prosperity, and optimism. It makes me deeply miss that time period, even though I hated this song back then.
I got that exact feeling with the opening sequence
A perfect piece of suburban Americana in that opening shot.
That's EXACTLY what I felt when it started. I thought, "Ahh, the pre-9/11 days." 1998/1999 was an awesome time style-wise. I just loved the whole Buffy dark lightness of it all. I don't know how to describe it. I think I'll call it pop-goth.

Damn bro, i just turned 32 last April & I remember having a big crushes on Mandy Moore, Britney Spears, Aaliyah, Spice Girls, All Saints, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes from TLC, Christina Aguilera, Tina Arena & many more, just too many to mention 😂 & I’m not afraid to tell the World that i be jamming to they’re song all day everyday if i feel like to.
32 in July as well. Love the 90s/00s.
9/11 and the war on terror were carefree?
lol, everyone thinks their era was the best. IMO the most likely scenario? childhood were the best years. nostalgia -- for a lot of people. i hear the same words from people older than us and a decade younger than us (we're in our 30s) -- "oh the 70s were the best" "the 80s were the simpler times" "oh the 2010s were the best" I think lot of it is when we had very little responsibility and not much to stress us out compared to when we're adults. all that being said -- love this song :D
I turned 32 in March lmao. What a time to be alive back then
This smell like Curve perfume and glitter ✨ 😩
Either curve or Lucky You!! 😂 ohhh and silver lined eyes!! 😂😂😂

She is soooo pretty!
Real fan, been listening to Mandy Moore since she was on the radio 📻
Crazy she was only 15 when this came out! So much nostalgia.
She has that total 90's/ early 2000's swag like no other
LOVE this song . Those were the dayz !
Love Mandy Moore❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Loved her dancing in this video❤️
It was my music when I was 15, now 32 still jamming it, SOWHAAAT
+Yel ValleOCh true i am 31 and i miss this type of music because it reminds me of simpler times and our world was in a much better place.
Turned 32 a little over a month ago! 83' baby here! 😃
This was my music to. And i miss it
+Yel Vall Lmao, I am your age right now as you was when this song was released! I love 80's, 90's and 00's music! Much better than the mainstream 10's music, even tho some less popular artists have great music in this decade, only you have to find them! :D
+Yel Vall I will be 28 this year and I'm still jamming out to 90s music. We had the best music back then.
I miss the days when we looked so damn forward to Friday after work so we could rent flicks from Blockbuster
Those were the days! Waited months and months to rent Austin Powers :)
Right ? Waiting for the New Releases section that costed so much yet so worth it lol and can’t forget renting games for Nintendo 64 and Sega lol
The 90s were more laid back.
I remember taking Mortal Kombat Trilogy from Blockbuster in 1997 and never bringing it back.
man this nostalgia HURTS
she's probably aged the best out of all these pop girls
Mandy Moore dun went off 2 da next level like fr fr 💖 *a u t h e n t I c v i e w s* 💖 is what got them HUGE!
What the hell are you dribbling about?!
This song is weirdly soothing. Sunny green suburbia, ice cream diners, skate parks, etc. ... Love the late '90s vibe to it, too.
“You’re love’s as sweet as candy. I’ll be forever your’s. Love always, Mandy” is ICONIC
Mandy Moore is absolutely gorgeous.. So underrated!! And she can actually sing... Unlike the other "pop" princesses we had back then....🤪 She's actually a really good actress too!! Definitely one of my girl crushes 🥰
Is this supposed to be shade to britney? because she CAN sing... definetely can sing better than mandy, who was literally a product of her label wanting a "britney".
I mean,..... Christina & Jessica both could ACTUALLY sing BEYOND well, there really can not be much question to that, & I have personally always loved Mandy & Britney's voices as well. Just maybe Mandy & Brit didn't quite have the same vocal range abilities, & therefore weren't quite as technically skilled,.... But no one can deny that Brit could/can DANCE & I absolutely love how all four if them sang/sing. Just especially Christina & Britney
I'm 43 and I remember when this came out and I'm not afraid to admit I loved it and still do! Lol. Mandy Moore hates this era of her life. But I think she sounded great 😊
Mandy said in an interview that she couldn't dance for shit so they had do a lot of camera tricks in her music videos. Now I couldn't stop noticing the dance scenes
let's rather say she never made an effort as a daddy's to even try it is a part of the job no wonder she never hit big like Brit and Xtina who worked hard they cernainly were mommy and daddy's little girl Weirdly nobody 's never gonnna touch my album "So Real" She is so good I love it
weren't
She's right. She can't dance.
@@Starsurfer1988After reading the comment I took a closer look at the dance sequence - that's some serious editing going on woooow
So she's kinda like her scrubs character
20 years later, who would have known that she was going to have such a long and diverse career across multiple arts
It’s 23 ac
Wakingmehome
her outfits in this 🔥😮💨
Mandy is my age and at the time, we had NO problem hearing a 15yo saying "Give it to me!" LOL!
No kidding! Hits different when you remember she was only 15 when she made this video. They sure did sexualize her.
@@ctt7971 Absolutely, and I had it pulled out enjoying every second of this video. I'm sure lots of other guys did too.
I want to go back in 90's
