But she’s had a nice career singing and acting. None of the other 2000s pop princesses have had a successful film/tv career. A Walk to Remember is pretty much a classic. Tangled is one of the best modern Disney films, and This Is Us (though I personally didn’t care for it) was a critically acclaimed hit.

I feel like theres such an innocence and vulnerability in Mandy's songs. Her voice is soothing and has helped me with my anxiety and depression throughout the years. A Walk to Remember has and always will be one of my favorite childhood movies. ❤️
I can relate whenever I feel anxious or depressed I listen to Mandy's songs and it helps me to relax cause like you mentioned her voice is so soothing it calms me! She went on to mention its why he worked extra hard to get where she is, I tried to find that interview on youtube bt I not find, still might be on youtube I didn't look at every one, beautiful as she is 😁

TheAgentOfTheSystem I don’t know if you are joking or not, but assuming you’re serious, I agree. 1) The late 90s vibe bled into the early 00s, even if it wasn’t chronologically the 90s anymore. 2) Something changed for the worst on September 11, 2001. The victims of the attacks obviously, but even music, movies etc. weren’t as good. America, and the rest of the world, has never been the same since. Even though the WTC was attacked only 8 years before in 1993, it was nothing compared to 2001.
I was serious. 9/11 was a complete shift in tone for the united states, maybe it's because i'm a bit older or being a military brat, or nostalgia googles or some combination of the 3 but i feel as if if you looked at 2000 and most of 01 things culturally really didnt change all that much and didnt become differentiated from the 90's and arguably the late 80's until 9/11.
Ill give you an example, in the film Matrix theres a scene where Neo the protagonist and another character break into a building and shoot innocent police officers and guards just doing their job and this is portrayed as anything but villainous. That scene would not likely be made today much like how the WTC would not be prevalent in films based in late 20th century NY because of the social tone at the time.
TheAgentOfTheSystem I totally agree! Even with the part about the late 80s. 2001 was more of the same (a good thing to me) before 9/11. I also double check to see if it’s not just my nostalgia goggles clouding my judgment. But American culture really got shocked, shook up, and scared after 9/11.
Understandably so, but clear channel radio was going on a witch hunt to ban anything that could be remotely taken as terrorism, even Dave Matthews Band - “Crash Into Me”.
Has America recovered since then? I was only 16 when the attacks happened, in Junior year of high school at the end of band class when I first heard about it.
P.S. I heard they censored the first Spider-Man movie and Incubus - I Wish You Were Here music video because the twin towers were in them. Makes you wonder how Lord of the Rings: Two Towers made it past the censors with that title.

90s. Ahhh what a magical era. Still remember that boy from college who i have a big crush with as soon as I laid my eyes in him. Im a freshman and hes my classmate in one of my class in nursing. Hes a sophomore. 20 years later, hes my husband now, we both nurses here in California with 2 beautiful kids. Life is good. ❤️❤️❤️
