    Mnemonic is 1st no. are consecutive multiples of 2... 2,4,6,10 (even the 20 btw). Awesome video! Will be of great help in the upcoming PG exams too.

    Sir, In Sickle Cell Anaemia,we often use 24 and 26 Gauge of cannulas in adults as its quite difficult to find good peripheral veins..☺ Sir your videos are very simple and easy to understand for a nurse like me..and love your presentation skill..Hats off 👏 ❤

    Thank you for this video. I would like to add a comment about the flowrate as mentioned at the packaging. This is the flowrate achieved through a free-flowing gravity infusion with water from a source 1m above the needle at normal atmospheric pressure. This flowrate is a value to compare needles with each other. Even though the color of needles/cannulas is the same, the following measures can be different: length and inner diameter. And if the outer diameter is equal, the inner diameter might differ because the wall thickness is not specified. So, to compare two different brands of needles/cannulas with same color, they will only perform the same if the stated flowrate is equal. May the stated flowrate be exceeded? Yes certainly: think about pressurized infusion bags, IV-pumps and power injectors in CT and MRI. (Here the flowrate can get even into the ml/sec ranges rather than ml/min or ml/hr.) The stated flowrate is not the maximum allowed value.
