Personally, I love being alone... being a caretaker for many years. It makes my "being alone" that much more appreciated.

They say u gonna need someone, at a point of time...
But I believe there's never gonna be anyone..
Walking you swiftly through the street of gloomy life...
Be proudly on your own whether it's raining or hailing...
    The storm will pass by,
    don't stop sailing
    By suhani saini
Thank you mel for every guidance...so this is a piece of my poem inspired by ur guidings❤

I moved to a new city in the summer of 2023. I'm now separated from my husband and I half my son half the week. So I feel sad and alone often these days because it's unfamiliar to me. I didn't really try to make friends. I isolated myself. I'm trying now but I have plans now to move back to where I'm from. I'm trying to learn to love and be ok with myself but I have so much sadness and anger. Thanks for sharing this, Mel. I tell myself one day at a time.

Thank goodness that the United States pattern of abandoning elders is not the same everywhere. For example, in Mexico people spend time with their parents and family every weekend and during the week often. it is such a refreshing different reality and much healthier culture with much happier families in general. I don’t agree that kids abandoning parents is what success looks like. It’s what we’ve made it look like and it really is not a very healthy model at all. More old people die of loneliness than anything else. We just do not acknowledge it because we don’t want to face what we do to our elders or to recognize how fractured our families have become in the name of ‘success’.

Mel.. you are a wonderful genius ❤️.. you make so much sense here. I wish I would of had you when I was younger. Although I know as young kids we don't always listen to understand.. wondering like being 60 is so far away. I apologize to my kids.. you've helped me do that. You have made me so aware as a human being. I've been venting of my husband for a while.. and while communication is key.. one thing that I've begun to learn is the energy is all kinds of wrong. I can't see it at age 60.. so I've got some big things to tackle. Thank you Mel! ❤ Always ❤

Yes!!! Thank you for acknowledging that you cannot be a statistic and change the pattern… I've been saying that for years… Every time someone tells me what my kids will or won't do when they grow up. And I prove those people wrong every single time. ❤❤❤❤

Hi Mel, I've just started listening to you and you've been a tremendous help. I don't have a positive mindset and a traumatic childhood. Recently the love of my life left me 6 months ago. I used all the resources I had and moved us to Texas with our son and her sister, only for her to give up and leave me. I'm lost, no confidence and heartbroken. She emotionally cheated on me before moving here and filled me with empty promises. I sold my house and have up everything for her. Now I'm priced out of my house and have to sell while she's exploring a new relationship that she's sexually active in. I'm overwhelmed and ready to move on but I can't stop thinking of her with this new guy.

I divorced after 30 years, and moved in with my mother and have become her companion and she is dependent on me. I have an increasing concern that this isn’t healthy for me.
