    Of all the questionable actions by crossfit in the recent years, this one has made me the angriest. Their youtube streams of the games every year have been so plagued with snafus they look like they were produced by high school drama troupes, but Sean was ALWAYS a class act and made it worth the time to stick around. I'm saddened and outraged by this decision, but I agree with you, they have done 0 to control the narrative as well.

    Crossfit went a different route, they kicked the well established guy to the curb for someone new that will work for 50%-75% less. Its the only way to make a non profitable company look good on paper so they can inflate their numbers to sell in the next few years.

    CF has been on mission to screw up CF for so long. We're all getting sick of telling this organisation how theyre screwing up. They've already screwed up moving the games (to the sun), most of the open announcements were a shitshow, the quarters obviously went tits up and the American semis couldnt fill a single row of seats and now get rid of the voice of the sport. Nobody at HQ has the best intetests of the sport at heart.

    Well said John. I think issues like this will continue to serve as roadblocks to CrossFit being legitmized and recognized as a professional sport. Whether these internal termination stories, or inconsistencies in application of standards and rules during competitions, the company seems to be in a perpetual cycle of self-sabotage with no clear direction to remedy it.

    This is a great video. I think everyone has their own opinions of who the "best" commentators are (i was a huge fan of Jason and Adrian when they did a live stream was it last year?), but thats also just my personality and how i engage with CrossFit. I also really enjoy Adrian and Sean, or even Adrian and Lauren. I think part of why it matters that it was Sean - at least for me - is because (like John said), Sean is just behind so many memories we all have of watching/engaging with the sport. I have used CrossFit to support my healing from childhood trauma and literally have had dreams where Sean is calling my workout for me.

    That CF still don't understands that it is a media company, build on fitness; has always pondered me. As european, not being used to a sport directly owned by a firm, I blame financial greed for this fault, but even if so, how can these constant communication screw ups be considered as adding value of the buisness??

    IT IS FINANCIAL! It is ALL FINANCIAL!! They are not making an announcement because it is financial!
    How can you continue to point at a MOUNTAIN of evidence and play naive … it undermines your credibility. Their strategy is to not say anything in hopes of drawing as little attention to their actions as possible and to avoid outright admitting their motivations. It is the same reason they signed an NDA for the NSCA lawsuit. There is no way you are this nabe.

    • @frankfoe
      @frankfoe Месяц назад

      @@constantlyvariedconversations I said "play naive" and "there is no way you are this naive." not the same as saying you are naive. In every single one of your interviews, you assume that Private Equity has some reason other than increasing profits by cutting costs and increasing fees. Throughout this entire video you continually pretend like you don't know the reason that they did this or that the issue is communication and not that PE is maximizing profits by cutting costs and increasing fees in preparation to sell to some new investor who will do the same especially if affiliates just roll over. Anyone paying attention knows that PE is preparing to sell. In the interview that you did with Emily Kaplan, you stated that PE is in cost cutting mode in preparation to sell. Is this definitely why they dropped Sean Woodland, no... not definitely, but it certainly fits the ongoing pattern. The difference is given their pattern of behavior and lack of communication I see no reason to not assume this while you for some reason want to ignore the long and consistent pattern and pretend like the issue is communication.
