    Send in the clowns.
Well put. Hopefully people can see past the drama and start asking questions

i respect your tone. i like that you roll with the block and make a joke out of it, but still defend yourself.

I do CrossFit but not in a CF facility. Might be 50 of us.

Same. At least, we are not an official affiliate. We may be a little more than 50.

You are wrong about one thing. It is very cool for a 50 year old man to be doing meme's. It shows creativity. This is coming from a 53 year old man that wishes he was creative enough to consistently make funny content. Keep it up.

interesting stuff. been doing CF since 2011, I stopped signing up for the open because of my belief it wasnt for the community but a $$ grab. it became really apparent to me when they moved to 2 rounds and you had to pay for both. they were looking for revenue anywhere they could find it

I have no personal grievance or beef towards Dave, but he does have a distinct pattern of behavior that you (and others) have pointed out, in that he routinely claims he "doesn't know who someone is" or "doesn't watch someone's content", etc etc, but then goes into detail about his opinions of a person or the content they post. It just gives off this aura of being disingenuous or contrived and trying to act "above" other people. Again, I don't dislike Dave and I think he does a lot of good in the space overall.

It's cool to be a memelord at any age because it can be relatable to so many people, around the world. You never know how it helps or may help. And your account helped a lot of us in the Crossfit community in Manila who were mentally struggling during the height of pandemic lockdowns.

Oh my god this is so rich coming from them because I do the same thing with my pages. I’m a liberal blocker. And I blocked Sevan for that exact reason he said some really horrible things to me. And they are STILL mad at me for blocking him 😂😂😂 in fact it was a whole thing last year. Hilarious.

Affiliate owner here, never said anything rude, asked him about his IG account which is an official CFHQ account and something he posted, DC blocked me too... question

If CrossFit doesn't own anything, then what are they doing with the $4k affiliate fee, and the revenue from the Open/QF/SF/Games, the L1/L2 Seminars, online education . . . . all those things? Aren't these all revenue streams? Asking b/c I don't understand what's happening.

Having Revenue and ownership are different things. They own a brand name. When I said they don’t own anything I meant property. Most “chains” own the land or buildings they have businesses on. In an affiliate model that isn’t the case.

I think the idea of a blended CF experience is worth considering. I do CF at home or outdoor, and go to an affiliate when travelling, and the two could be combined in innovative and effective ways

Selling CrossFit isn’t a bad thing, CrossFit is dying.

The best measurement for if that is true is growth and both the Open and Affiliate ownership grew last year.

9:13 Dave's WIR IS NOT official CF Media. Is as official as we get, but it is not official.

    • @constantlyvariedconversations
      @constantlyvariedconversations  3 месяца назад +9

Disagree. When CF produces little to no official updates and a director level employee with insider knowledge discusses the project’s they are working on it becomes official. But if it isn’t “official” then the question begs how does a corporation the size of CrossFit have such a terrible social media policy governing their employees. It puts the entire business at a potential reputational risk.

For a guy that professes not to care that Dave blocked him you spend a lot of time fretting about it. And he talked about the block, and Hiller, because he was asked by commenters to speak to both subjects. He has effectively gotten under your and Hiller’s skin.

Sounds like you missed the point about the video which was mostly about CF’s poor media strategy. Plus Im allowed to respond when he proactively discusses me on his show and gets most if not all of the facts wrong.
