Look up “how to tram a mill” to get your Bridgeport head back to zero. Ideally you should tram it to the table but if the table looks like swiss cheese, you can tram it to the vise in a pinch. Invest in a few dial and test indicators and you’re on your way to maintaining better tolerances

From what I’ve seen, some people have actually milled the divider down (so it starts about 1” inside the turbo housing) below the flange, allowing the flow to be more shared / equalized between the divided halves.....some have said this is more important if the inlet to the turbo at the collector has a bend in it, due to flow favoring the outside radius of the bend. Keep up the good work!!!
Get roof snails so you can hang your air above the major tool stations and out of the way. Seriously this is one of the best shop improvements you can do for your place. Three or four snails over the anchor points of the shop and you're set. No more tripping over hose, no more dirty hose, cause that sucks, and it's more natural when you're pulling from above.

The 4 rotor instill fear in my soul. It’s a machine so well tuned and so powerful it rides the line pushing its limits to the brink of destruction. A true horror. This is scary powerful but I don’t fear for my life watching as much lol.
The og's I think will appreciate the 3 rotor, maybe not more than the 4, but it's what really started robs channel. And I personally am stoked that he got that damn 20b back up and going.

You can't employ ppl like Isaiah, his skills and knowledge are like your yearly paypacket per month. Even if he is paid, that would be like a wad that covers expenses and stuff cos this is like brotherhood stuff and you can see that in the way that they vibe. And even then you'd need to top up what he asked for or just be there as a friend when needed (reciprocation) as he wouldn't have charged you what he was worth. This could have been quite the the (envisaged) christian friendship / fellowship but for the lewdness and cussing :/ An 'employee' would be gone on the minute or the hour (or probably the second). People like him can't be tied down as their skills are in demand and this stuff is part time for rob. The only was to keep him close would be to help him set up his own shop if he isn'y part of one already. Say rob, tav and a few others helping to make that happen and you have your friend for life. They could each have their own reserved bays, lol

Now Rob: "So anyway after I created a machine empire in my own garage, I'm going to use space age technology to mill, machine, and make my own parts from this crazy 3 rotor, and I'm going to tune stuff myself and show you how I do all this stuff. Someday we're beating elon musk to the moon because I will probably end up making my own rockets too." I seriously love seeing how Rob has progressed over the years and learned so much, shared so much, and enjoys sharing this entire journey. Channels like this are wholesome, badass, car fun.

That comment about the air compressor is so so true. Yours appears to be similar to mine. I just got my first T-30 Ingersoll. When I picked it up it did not work. 200 bucks later with a replaced a $20 front bearing in the 5hp motor and a pump rebuild kit from ebay at 125 dollars shipped, this 2 stage 175 psi pump and 60 gallon is long over due. What an unbelievable difference it makes to not have to wait on air tools.
I'd say a good 80% of this information just goes right over my head but god damn is it inspiring to watch. Something about rotary engines just calls out to me... I must build one!!
I fall in and out of robs videos but I’ll say I got back in when he was doing the 4 rotor and I came back to the 3 rotor start up and I was like man this is why I like cars they are sick
The intake clamps are cool. We use something similar in aviation called Wiggings Clamps. Same setup, each tube has an o-ring, and the tubes float inside the clamp. Once engine bleed air pressure comes up, the seal is made. Very cool to see it used on the three rotor!
Why is there an like 80s or 90s Indycar or some open wheeler like that in the background in the allingnment scenes around 25:50 Rob. Have u done a thing again?

(re: turbo exhaust inlet) A knife edge divider will cause flow separation from the inside wall... whereas a radiused splitter will allow the air to flow smoothly along the wall. Knife edge will create an artificially smaller cross-section of the passage. Air follows fluid dynamics, and flowing fluids hate sharp edges. Even if you have to recess the divider leading edge, radiusing it will be better.
the coolest thing is the OG bonnet back on. regardless if you keep that bonnet or use a new one, you should keep that scoop in the front of it since we all remember it with it

I think you may have to get rid of that tiny thin vane on the turbo, and actually turn it into a single throat that siameses further into the port, if you port it properly then it won't create too much turbulence in that area, tho at a 1000"c that super thin vane edge will be destabilising and being quite sketchy? I'd ask Garrett about its properties, Please vote this up so he sees it, Cheers!

When we port 2-strokes we stay away from knife edge becasue the air goes really fast from right above but from sides it bounces and looses air speed

Large air compressors are nice. We have a 55 gallon DeVilbiss here. My work has a 75hp Atlas-Copco unit and it's insane. 640 3 phase.

No such thing as too much tank on a compressor!
Should go a step further and use stainless tubing for oil feed and return. Looks clean AF and never have an issue
