    Is it the fabric that's particularly good at keeping you cool or it's the blue colour interaction? Or both i guess

      I think it was both, the fabric was very thin so the heat didn't stick around and the blue color helped reflect light away

    Is a lot of English spoken there?

      Very little, It was a former French colony so everyone speaks French and Arabic. I know about 1000 words in Arabic so that helped me get by.
