    I visited Nouakchott, Mauritania a year or so ago and really enjoyed my visit. I live only about an hour away from the border in Senegal so I traveled by car. Road tripping into Mauritania was stressful, to say the least even though We had a friend have her network of people meet us at the border and assist. The whole process of both entering and leaving the country was so challenging I felt like the govt doesn’t really want visitors. It may be different traveling by plane. One thing I noticed was the women who wore gloves and socks in the hot Sun in addition to all the layers. This, I was told, is done to avoid getting darker. I visited the same market shown here. I loved the shopping, access to tech, and Moroccan herbs and other goods not found where I live in Senegal. I also loved the wide streets and the beach was clean and gorgeous. Bought fresh fish right on the shore at the fish market. I felt really safe and the people were very friendly. Found a few English speakers there as well.

They look down on others in Africa. An Ethiopian will never initiate a conversation with another African, they will never marry another African but have no problem marrying white people. Eritrea are also the same, I guess they are cut from the same cloth. They are beautiful but their attitude is awful. We all have different cultures in Africa but no one looks down on another except Ethiopian and Eritrea.

      North Africa is located in the Mediterranean, closer to the middle east and southern Europe than 90% of sub-saharan Africa, very far away from the equator, of course they have typical olive skin color. Only people with sub-human level intelligence like you think continents separate skin colors. Even the word 'Africa' came from a roman north african province called Africa Proconsularis, modern day Tunisia, so that word has nothing to do with sub-saharans in the first place. Africa is a continent not a country just like Asia were saudi arabians, Indians, Chinese people, Koreans live and look nothing like eachother. Go take a look at a population density map of africa to get your answers and see where people live.

      Arabs are an ethno-linguistic group(a group of people who speak the same language), not a race. Most of the arabs outside the arabian peninsula aren't genetically arabs, they're Egyptians/copts, berbers/amazigh, Assyrians, Chaldeans, nubians, canaanites, phoenicians, etc who got arabized in language and religion because of the Islamic Caliphate conquests of the 600s and 700s.
      Even Sudanese people are arabized in language and religion just like other north Africans, they speak arabic as their native tongue and they're a part of the arab league. Sudan and South Sudan got separate because of ethno-religious conflict between arab speaking north Sudanese and non-arab south Sudanese, North Sudanese genocided millions of south Sudanese bantus during the Sudanese civil war

    Wow, you went to Mauritania without discussing the enslavement of our African brothers and sisters by those Arabs/ Berbers! The Arabs/ Berbers are a very small minority in that country, or about 30% of the population and they control the entire government and civil service. They like to pretend that slavery does not exist in that country, but if you venture out into the country side you will find black slaves with their so-called “white” masters. They still practice a form of chattel slavery reminiscent of the American slavery of the 18th century, using the Muslim religion and pseudo-Koranic verses to brainwash people. The black Africans and anyone of indigenous African descent from countries outside Mauritania are considered free slaves, including Goblack, himself.

    • @Hippobottomless
      @Hippobottomless 9 месяцев назад +4

      I agree with u on the slavery and mistreatment of our fellow blk Africans but I disagree with u on the Koran or Islam having anything to do with it. It’s more of an Arab Bedouin culture. The prophet MOHAMMED (AS) was against slavery. The PROPHET (AS) and his companions used to free blk slaves one of the first muslim was a blk african slave called BILAAL freed by the PROPHET (AS) and his companions.

    $500 for a market place a month and the whole place is owned by one person. The price fees predatory. You have to sell at least $17 a day just to go towards rent. This is the neglect of African governments. The government should be owning such kind of place and offering reasonable rental prices.

    Arab or African? Like, Egyptian or Arab? Yemeni or Arab? American or Black? Canadian or White? The subject of identity by race, ethnicity, and nation-state is often misunderstood. However, Arab identity is from the language not from tribe, nation-state, or geography. Those who speak Arabic fluently are Arab. For example, Abu Hanifa, the father of the Hanafi school of Islamic thought, is an Arab. Many Muslims in Africa follow the Hanafi school of thought. Abu Hanifa was originally from Persia, not Arabia. However, no one will deny that Abu Hanifa is Arab not from birth or geographical location but by his mastery of the Arabic language. Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim are both from Uzbekistan. Their origins are Tatari or Turkic from Central Asia, yet no one will deny that they were Arab. Finally, the best example of all is Islam's first Mu'addhin (caller of the Muslim prayer) and an original Sahaba (companion) of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله علي وسلم. His name is Bilaal Ibn Rabah رضي الله عنه and he was from Ethiopia or Habasha. He was also African, but no one will deny that he is Arab. Prophet Muhammad صلى الله علي وسلم said in an admonishment to a few companions who had referred to Bilaal Ibn Rabah رضي الله عنه as "Black Bilal", Bilal is Arab, and Arab is not from your mother or father, but from this (and he pointed to his tongue) and said min al-lisaan which means from the tongue. There are many Arabs who are originally from the Sudan (Egypt), Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and all over Africa. You cannot identify an Arab by skin color, geography, or religion, but only by language. My background: I am Muslim. I graduated from the University of Washington in Near Eastern Studies: Culture and Civilization, with minors in Diversity Studies and Human Rights. I also have three Master's degrees in Education, Criminal Justice, and Forensic Psychology with a specialization in Terrorism and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice. I am currently working on completing a second Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology and Data Science. I have been a student for 13 years consecutively and of all the channels I subscribe to, GoBlack2Africa is among my favorite to watch. The work that our brother is doing with this channel is fearless, bold, educational, inspirational, and super eye-awakening. Thank you.

      Honestly the Arabization of Africans has been a ploy to subjugate the natives, no matter how articulate you try to be Abrahamic faiths are a plague for Afrika, it is also an oxymoron for a black skinned African to call themselves Arab. We hope one day black Muslims will wake up and know their true identity is not inferior to Arab Supremacy.

      That is the problem with Africans, and it is that we take on identities that are ours, and thus, we fight with one another based on those false identities. In sudan, currently, we have one group of black people who identify as Arabs committing a genocide against another group of black people who have maintained their African identity in Dafur. The fact that I speak English fluently doesn't make me English. As Africans, we need to shirk these foreign cloaks that we have put on ourselves and start looking at on another as the same people. Africaness is what should prevail at all times.

    Great video,. I don't know if you did any local history of Mauritania, but I heard and read some stories about the country. It hasn't been so long ago that Mauritania had officially got rid of slavery. The Arabs had enslaved the black Africans, and some were kept hidden in their Arab homes made to work and do as the Arab's wanted with no freedom to escape. Have you heard about the slavery in Mauritania?

MALARIA is a deadly disease. The Fy(a-b-) phenotype is RARE in caucasians. The Fy(a-b-) phenotype is predominant in AFRICAN BLOOD. To be clear:
      The Fy(a-b-) phenotype protects AFRICANS from the DEADLY MALARIA.

    Lighter skin Arabs are Black African and Roman mixed. When I say Roman, I'm talking about, Italy, Spain, Greece, etc, these nations were mixed with the Carthaginians black in the day. The Carthaginians were black men who laid seed with European women, and thats why the above mentioned nations are of a somewhat darker European people compared to Europeans who live in the Northern parts of Europe. The Moors black then are the same Carthaginians, or Phoenicians, and check this out, they are all SHEM and Hebrews.
