The original berber are black. The ones you see today are mixed with greek, roman and vandal blood. They have been faking like they are the original berber in order to falsify the history of north africa to make it seems as if tbey have been tbere for thousands of years but saharan paintings prove otherwise. The haratin are an original berber population thats why they make the claim that they have always been in the places they can be found. The mixed 'socalled berbers have falsified the bistory. It is true that other black etbnic groups were made slaves but they should not be confused with tbe original 'haratin/ berber who are tbe original inhabitants of north africa.

i have been to Mauritania and I can confirm that there is a serious problem. First, the hotel guy was trying to convince me that he appreciated black people. I was wondering ...why is he saying that we are in Africa right???... Then I noticed that there wasn't a single black guy in all the offices I visited (except for the servant bringing the tea). In the streets, it was even worse. Shops are all held by white maurs and served by black people . Finally if a black guy wanted to get served, he was just ignored until he showed some serious wealth or was a foreigner. I really couldn't believe that this was a country this close to Senegal or Mali (black) and the society was this much segragated! this was in 2015.

The first time I heard about the "blackamoors" (that's how it was translated into English then) was when I came upon one of the oldest (if not the oldest) English translation of what we now know as Arabian nights (or 1001 nights) in it's unabridged uncensored version back in 1997. It really helps understand the dynamic between these enslaved black people and those who exploited them, feared them, despised them, mutilated them and killed them. It makes you think twice about work which is presented to the wider audience as being children entertainment after having been modified to fit the demands of a capitalist machine dedicated to the financial exploitation of children. These are folk tales bearing witness to patterns of social behaviors and beliefs from another era, not fairy tales as we've been led to believe. Best way ever to keep our history hidden...

There are some errors in your presentation.
    1. yusuf ibn tashfin was a black man himself just as he was described and the way his cousin abu bakr was depicted.
    2. the Europeans depicted the moors as black Africans because the word moor means black and historically Mauritania was inhabited by black Africans.
    3. the Wolof used to inhabit Mauritania in ancient times before they settled in Senegal.
    4. the word morocco comes from marakesh which means "the city of the kushites" because the almoravids were seen as children from cush
I advise you to read more primary sources instead of secondary sources

From what I have read the haratin, as a distinct group bearing that name (in the form of the Amazigh: ahardin and ihardin) pre-dates the arrival of Islam and is not derived from any Arabic word. Bro thanks for this bid you really educated me on one of my larger biases. I would constantly argue with any black man who took pride in Moorish history. I feel like we were used and discarded and like many other times just because the so called heroes or victors better yet conquerors were from Africa with dark skin , many African American men take pride in their actions . Personally i see it as just another subjugation of our people but since there was certain gains and victories we are grasping at any trivial little success while in my opinion ignoring the overall context. In The Taking of lower Spain really what is there for us to celebrate especially without acknowledging the subjugation by Arab and Berber leaders. I feel the black man should not be proud to be called a MOOR. You even in your video show how the black men were still just used as warriors, bodyguards and then chattle and were only prized for their fighting ability because it helped their leaders that was their value. Now look how today Mauritania still treats dark-skinned Africans as slaves are you kidding me and you brother still have the nerve to be proud to be called a MOOR. SMH. I apologize for my renting as well as my punctuation but I was Furious trying to get the thought out LOL

spain was originally captured the ummayad caliphate in the 9th century! the almoravids inherited this land after unifying several independent states that were a result of the ummayad caliphate dissolving earlier. however they were key in defending the territory from european invasion.

@@isaach8289” They were key territories to protect from European invasions “. What European invasions are you talking about? Spain was always European territory and the christian spaniards were trying to retake their own territories taken by not African and Arab moors.

I think we should write an open letter to Paul Kagame, Magufuli of Tanzania and others to act upon this criminal and inhumane situation swiftly. If you want endorse and sign this open letter let's go. Please support this channel by sharing this video and give some money so they can continue with this great work.

They're far away from Mauritania. Mauritania, Mali, Senegal, Morocco, all countries bordering Mauritania have a French "post-colonial" relationship. This is an International crime and the French probably have the most power to stop supporting Mauritania with this horrific practice.
But we have to keep something else in mind. Black empires and structures had caste systems and slaves as well (like the Wolof). There's been a programming of some of us to think we're slaves, even if those that are hate being slaves.

Pastor I serve two tours of duty in Europe and I never heard of a European referring to other Europeans as white and I’ve met many people from Africa while serving in the military and I’ve never heard any of them refer to themselves as black. In fact as far as race go,The only ones ,the only people I know that use the term, white, black, yellow and red are Americans/citizens of the United States. The Term black was not even used are excepted with Americans of African dissent until the Sixty. We were call people of color of which I consider a better description as citizens of the United States who are of African dissent. I don’t know if you noticed lately ,but there been some very negative comments about Americans of African dissent by other Americans of African dissent who they call traitors because they do not have Dark Skin. When will we ever learn ,when will we ever learn.

I have had experiences of reading enslaved telling their stories. I had to stop reading to get my mind right to continue. It took me a couple of hours to recover. So it was a back and forth thing. It was excrutiating, at times, but I had the courage to push on through.
    They are like us. Painful!

The Arabs did the same thing to the Berbers as they did to the West Africans. This is why the Berbers speak Arabic practice Islam and are subordinate to Arabs in North Africa.

    • @TheSonny3333

if i don't get wrong the reason wey some berbers speak arabic instead of berbers language (will the others still speaking berbers/amazigh) is mostly due to modern day pan-arabism rather than the first "umayyad arabs" invader in the region
