Occasionally people ask you politely not to photograph them, occasionally they throw vegetables at you, but nowhere is quite like the capital of Mauritania where filming yourself gets the locals screaming at you! What a bunch of Mauritanian madlads! Fortunately the people got a lot more chill on the road to Nouadhibou.

Hey mr. Bald! I left this comment under last video with Kolya Stalin. My girlfriend's grandfather is living in that village! And he knows Kolya! And babushka from shop wich said that Kolya is her fiance, she is a neighbor of my girlfriend grandparents. We even found a house of grandparents in video. I can't believe that world is so small. I think you have a lot of viewers in Belarus, so think about possibility of meeting with your fans in Minsk. We could go to some bar together and drink vodka telling interesting facts about Belarus and some cool places to visit for your videos. Think about it!
P.S. Probably we could organize for you a meeting with my girlfriend's grandfather in his house. He was a collective farm director when Chernobyl disaster happend. And his story could shed light on Kolya's and another viliiagers lifes.

What bad experiences did you have? I’ve been to Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal and Cabo Verde...never had a single problem except the annoying peddlers and maybe the risk of pickpocketing in the medinas but that’s common in any crowded market worldwide.

The truth of too is people on these countries are often worried about seriously attacking foreigners because it is much more dangerous and will get much more attention than attacking a local. Not saying it doesn’t happen though obviously.

You just have to look at Bald's videos and hear the people talking about the Soviet Union to realize that, outside of a few lucky areas (like the Baltics, Azerbaijan, maybe Kazakhstan, maybe Georgia - where at least the capital Tbilisi looks vaguely touristy and European), the downfall of the Soviet Union was a major economic catastrophe that plunged millions of people into destitution (when previously they at least had something).
I am not trying to glorify that regime, communism was bad for its lack of freedom in all aspects of life. But for many inhabitants of the former Soviet republics, it was much better back in those days.
