    I'm building my 72. Once it's done I'll be putting the 67 68 fender badges on it. Not original to the year but I really like the look. Haters can hate 😊

      I think it would look good! I love those fender badges. Customize it the way you want it. That's what I'm going to do too.

    I like the testers paint. In the process of restoring mine now, but the truck will be badge less when finished. I just think it give a cleaner look. And last, I remember my Dad customizing the badges on his 53' Hudson. He would fill the area where paint went, with what was call Space Tape, which would cause a rainbow color effect when the sun hit it.

    Hey there Chad, cannot thank you enough for all the tips. I'm making my way through all of the videos. One thing I do not see yet is how to remove the various types of trim and emblems safely without destroying the clips, trim and paint. I'm talking about the belt line mouldings, grill trim, back of cab chrome strip, letters on the hood, fender emblems, etc. Would definately help me, might help others. Thanks again.

      AND, I got a 1970 C/10 that came with small jack and tool bag clipped in the side at the back of the cab. It's long gone by now and I was wondering, where can a feller find the tools/ bag to get this back together? Could be this a vid that needs to be done by an enterprising guy such as yourself! @@C10TruckNerd

    I prefer the blue in the grill . I was hoping to see how you put that 67 fender emblem back on. I mean to take mine off and I'm wondering if there's a way to do it without removing the fenders

      OG blue looks the best to me as well. It is very difficult to slide your hand from the bottom or from under the hood to reach them. As you can tell, I have little bird arms which helps. Pulling the back of the inner fender down might be the best bet if you soak the bolts first. You have given me an idea for a video!

    • @C10TruckNerd

      They started in 69. 69-70 they were under the C10 or Custom badges and then moved under the side marker for 71-72. I keep a bunch of them when I part trucks out.

    Chad you have some great ideas. I imagine. If you use the material that the truck lettering places use to cover the back of the emblem after you clean it that would last a long time . Just a thought ...

    Chad ! Have a question you'll probably know ! Was the 66 C10 1500 the last year for wood bed floors ? I think so but another guy says NO ! Thanks for ur reply ! 👍

    • @C10TruckNerd
      @C10TruckNerd  Год назад +1

      It was not. Wood continued to be the standard floor in 1967 as well and was still painted black. In 1968 metal floors became standard with wood as an option through 1972 but would have been painted the body color. Hope that made sense.

    Chad, thanks for all of the information that you have been providing.
    I have a question, 67 with west coast/trailer mirrors, when new were the nuts and bolts used painted or plated.
    Most of the trucks including mine that I see have everything painted white. Is that the way they came new?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    • @C10TruckNerd
      @C10TruckNerd  Год назад +1

      Looking thru my info it looks like they came both ways, but the plated all rusted before the brackets.

    CHAD MY 1967 DOES NOT HAVE CHEVY ON THE HOOD HOW ARE THE LETTERS SPACED

    • @C10TruckNerd
      @C10TruckNerd  Год назад

      I have never found an answer to that question. I’ve seen guys take large masking tape or a roll of paper. Roll it onto another 67-68 hood with the letters removed and punch holes in the paper and tape. Then tape it onto the hood you want the letters and start drilling. Some after market hoods don’t have access holes for the nuts to tighten.
