Samsung's Mind-Blowing Hylex Heat Pump Revealed!

- The Hylex™ from Samsung is compatible with virtually any existing HVAC system out there. Even better, there's practically no additional equipment needed - no new wires, lines sets or piping. This also makes for much faster and easier installation should the consumer choose to replace their existing ODU. In other words, the Hylex™ is going to be an HVAC game changer.

Just got introduced to Hylex a few months ago and I’m seeing MAJOR opportunities down here in Texas !
Wow that original setup was a mess! Great job on doing it the right way, true professional
Thank you my brother
That’s a sweet set up! I’ve done a similar set up for a shelving manufacturing plant. The redundancy sells it. If one goes down the others can continue on.
Nice products and nice install Tad ... Thx for posting
Thanks for watching!
I never knew you can do this.this is amazing
I love these Hylex units.
me too bro
Samsung makes good equipment.
I agree they did a good job with it
Exept for vrf systems I have had nothing but problems with them
Nice work 👍🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey Tad have you installed any of the Hylex systems in a residential application yet?
Can individual thermostats call for cool or heat on their own furnace with the other two furnaces not running? If yes, then what is going to prevent recirculation of common supply air back through inactive furnaces into common return? Also what prevents heat and cool from being set on different thermostats at same time? I started an Am Std 5 Ton 14.3 SEER split heat pump today...total amps on hp was 14.0A. What was your TA on 2nd Stg on those 5 Tons? My old 18 yr old burnt up Rheem's were typically 19.5A, one noisy one was 29.0A! Thank you. Looking like good work and nice units. I'm still slammed for at least two weeks. School starts soon and it always dries up a little. It's been a great summer up here.
I'm curious why didn't you move the thermostats to not overwork the units? If you have three different zones, why have the thermostats in all in one' zone
is there a reason you flip the image when you do "selfie" video? i've noticed that all of your videos are like that, but only with video of yourself.
there is a setting in the camera (or app) that can change that, just didn't know if you had a reason for doing it.
Are you running these units as heat pumps? If so, how are you controlling your lockouts between the gas heat and heat pump heat?
Also, the Hylex manual calls for installing a bi-flow filter drier on the liquid line, but they don't include one with the unit, so you need to buy one in addition to the new unit.
Flushing line sets great! But you have 3 evaporators. How do you plan to clean three evaporators with the snake oil flush fluid>
Good question!
How do these compare to the York/Coleman HMH7?
So the Hylex just brazes right into the existing ev coils or did you add new flare fittings to the ev? Very nice job by the way!
Everything was existing I just added the condensers
Did you add the extra r410a before you started them up. Or did you add after
before I started, I added 12 oz 410a
If those furnaces are all connected to the same duct system, all of the blowers MUST be twinned...
What’s the power consumption of the outdoor condenser? I honestly forgot if the indoor coil has a TXV cuz I’m curious how much power it consumes during heating
I will do another video and feature the power consumption for you
So the air handlers and thermostats are still running on legacy wiring and the control boxes convert that traditional wiring to the communication signal for the condensers? Is it DC voltage?
DC voltage for the communication between the condenser and the a h u control yes
@@TaddyDigestdo you have to have all the blowers running since the furnaces still share supply and return?
I've never seen those type of condensors before could you do a video on how they work, those are pretty cool. 🤔
Yeah I can do a video about it
I have seen for years already chines manufacturers like innovair and comfort start or something chineses innovation are way ahead...
@@jibaritomxit’s Korean, not chinese
how have these units fared after nearly a year?
So far so good no problems
We’re having issues with a hylex where it’s utilizing the cooling function for the heat pump but when we set it to heating, it’s using the American standard furnace and turning it on instead of utilizing the heat pump for heating
Did you make sure that the programming of the thermostat was correct
Whats keeping supply air bypassing if only one or two fans are operating???
They all stay on the same temperature on the thermostats
And the thermostats are right next to each other
Are you going to measure actual CFM??? Where are the bidirectional filter dryers?
Inside the unit
Of course
we have to use a sleeve w/ velco uv resistant on exposed lineset. its $450 for 75ft. to save costs we use line hide. but even that 4 feet to the wall, code prohibits from using that uv tape. id imagine mitsubishi cost more than samsung. from seattle.. im not a tech
Those heat pumps will have issues in a couple of year's , too many components imo
This will be my first test I'm excited to see what kind of issues I deal with
Hi BOoS
