I loved this cameo but it left me wanting more. Michael is weirdly quiet in the wedding and had very few dialogues. They should have paid Steve more to get him to really participate in the 2 last episodes as a normal character and not only a guest one. Imagine Michael answering the questions in the documentary interview along with the rest of the cast. It would have been a perfect finale.
I felt it was made to leave is wanting more. I thought it was perfect as he was no longer the star and as he said his children have grown up so it's their time. Interesting point about being on the doc panel... I hadn't even thought about that but I guess again it proves the show and cast are extremely strong without him - but thanks TO him.
Jennifer Walne Dwight low key liked Jim since always. Remember the episode where Dwight quits for a while because Michael thinks he betrayed him again? He goes outside and hugs Jim. That was too cute.

You know what's sweet? Michael's hair was probably already greying when he was still around at Stranton. I mean, you don't get from all black to that stage in just a few years. He dyed it to look young and hip, but he stopped once he felt happy with himself and realised he didn't have to pretend to be something he wasn't.

Watched the finale today. Cried the moment I saw Michael. Every single line was worth it in the finale. The Office is nothing without him. I'm glad he was there.
At first I thought Michael was annoying but through out the seasons I got attached to him , when he left I actually cried 😭😭😭 then he appeared on this episode.....I CRIED EVEN MORE ❤️
I just watched the last couple of episodes in front of my family and I was too afraid to cry so I just held back my tears and now I’ve gone upstairs and I’m rewatching all the scenes and absolutely fucking bawling my eyes out, I’ve never had a show where the characters literally feel like your own friends and family, in times when I would feel so shitty and life would throw me under the bus I would always come back to the office as it always would cheer me up
I kept waiting on Michael's return until the finale. God this was so beautiful to watch. I really wished he returned as early as season 9. This was one of my favorite scenes together with Jim giving advise to Dwight who had teary eyes.

I love Michael on the last episode. He was there for Dwight, but being happy and having had fulfilled his life long dream of having a wife and kids, he was quiet, didn't try to be the center of attention, he knew exactly what he's role was. Also, the same way I never thought I'd cry with someone saying "take it sleazy" as I did when I heard it on the final episode of the good place, I never thought I'd cry hearing Michael saying "that's what she said".

I was really surprised Michael came back. I was thinking that cuz they never talked about him much in the last couple of seasons and I may have thought the team was bitter about him leaving. When I saw him standing there I balled my eyes out. Perfect scene and when he said my kids are all married and grown up it got to me too. Great show. The UK version was more shorter and unique but both are brilliant shows. It will be missed.

The show should have closed with Michael anchoring at least the final 10 or 5 mins. He started it, he should have ended it. But I understand Steve Carell wasn't officially/contractually obliged and was too busy for it. And Michaels arc ended with Goodbye Michael episode. From there on it was focused on the supporting cast and finale was about tying their loose ends sending those characters off. It makes sense. But oh My God I would have been so happy if they ended with Michael leading for at least 10 mins straight like the good old days. If you notice Steve Carell isn't quite Michael-ish in these minutes he appeared. But very heartwarming to see him back.

Not gonna say the finale was bad but I personally think we needed more Michael Scott at the end and maybe he could play the final guitar song having maybe learnt in Colorado. Something like that would just make it the best finale to a show ever as Michael is the best known character from The Office and made so many of the memorable moments iconic. He was the 1st character we were introduced to and the best. They should’ve lived up to his legacy in this show just a little bit more. Nevertheless, the finale was great and I enjoyed every bit, minus the non Michael at the end.
HanMeel 23 A bigger role was offered to Steve Carell in the Finale. But he stepped down and only did a cameo as he didn‘t want to take the attention away from the cast that stayed till the end. That is why he isn‘t appearing in the final scene
I think what a lot of people are missing is the look Dwight as at 1:25 you can tell how happy he is, he is marrying the woman he loves and his best friend is back. Genuine excitement and a look you dont see from Dwight, brillaint acting by Rainn.
This scene deserves an Oscar. I never experienced so many emotions at once in my life. Laughter, Cry, Pain, Happiness. Seriously fuck this scene. Out of world.

The reason why they did it that way it's because if he had more lines it was going to get on the credits and they didn't want to spoil it.
He didn’t say much is because he recalled he didn’t want to take away what the actors had all created over the seasons. (Something along those lines)
