Can't take criticism but dishes it out all day.
I met my narcissist at church. We were both devout, so no moving in together, or sex, or fooling around before marriage. It was easy for him to wear his charming mask whenever we saw each other because we were not living together. Of course he was love-bombing me and gushing over me the whole time we were dating. It must be true love. So we get married and go on our honeymoon (that was not fun). We come back and we are moving things into our new rental, which is a rental in someone's backyard. We unloaded the stuff onto the driveway and we are pushing it around to the back. He wants to break for lunch. I said I didn't want to have lunch when all our furniture was in the front yard where someone might steal it. He did not want to push it all the way around in the back. I said, "Let's compromise and move it on the side yard out of sight". He said, "Compromise is a sin". I said, "I am not talking about MORAL compromise, I'm talking about compromising to solve a problem". Nope. Compromise was a sin. He NEVER compromised. This never came up when we were dating because all our dating was things like church fellowships, going out to eat and hiking. I had no idea that I married a tyrant until after we tied the knot.

Haha that’s funny you thought you meant Prince Charming and he turns out the opposite now if you want to get divorced you’ll like you were desperate to get married and can’t handle marriage up and downs my wife is a churchgoer now we rarely talk no intimacy sex nothing my choice she’s a great woman when I ask for divorce I’m staying single for sure if she finds a holy man and turn out to be like your husband wish her luck when he tells her to summit (sex) every day obey your husband says the lord she’ll be so fooled and stay in this marriage she should of tryed to keep her 40 yr marriage but if she didn’t want to well I understand point is stay what you have because you’ll never know what you’ll end up with 😮

When your narc says they are leaving you, make them repeat it.
"What!!! You're leaving me? Are you sure?"
Make a big deal out of it, so that it's harder for them to deny later.
Like in 'A Few Good Men', Tom Cruz reminded Col. Jessup (jak nilklson)
"Remember, I asked you, 'Grave danger?' and you said, 'Is there any other kind?'. I can have the court reporter read back to you (what you said)".
Then journal the time, place, date, exactly what they said...

I used to ask him repeat back to me. He'd be angry, and say "He wasn't a child!" "I know, but I'm just making sure we understand clearly what is what so there's no "misunderstood" later." I said. He was so frustrating and ridiculous.

This is exactly right, you do not owe them anything. It is merely a fiction of theirs
We don’t owe the narcisist anything. Nothing at all. And any abuser should be treated as an abuser and there is NO excuse for abuse. No end justifies abusive means! Never!
i totally agree with your script in their head theory. its very ridged, and varys from narc to narc, but they all pretty much play by the same book.
I am generous by nature but have come to the conclusion that the narcissist I know/knew is not worthy of a glass of water from me any more.
Speaking of a glass of water... There was a time when my narccy-narc asked me to go get her a glass of water right after I had gotten into bed. I said no. And so she just laid there in the bed. Probably just going to wait until I'm almost asleep and then repeat it, whine, start an argument, disturb me from going to sleep etc. Now, keep in mind, I have a short temper (probably a key factor in her choosing me, it's quite easy to provoke me into reactive abuse), so I yelled at her and told her to get out of the bed that instant and go downstairs and get herself a glass of water.

what ive found out, and have personally experienced it 2x. they rage, when they know all is lost, cats out of the bag, its over. at the same time the mask falls off, because there is no need for that anymore, and you get to see the actual entity you have been dealing with.
