I'm hesitating to go whether in Yonsei or Ewha but you really make me want to go there thank you for this detail video I really was looking for this kind of video thank you so much☺
@@aureliegeoffroy3972have you decided yet? Because I just came back from my semester abroad at ewha and I can really recommend it! It was so nice to just be surrounded by women, especially during group discussion in the courses. And I think the nice thing about ewha is, that the campus isn’t as big as yonseis so almost every building is in walking distance, which is especially nice during the heat of the summer haha
Great video! Loved how you showed the facilities as well. I’m planning to study abroad during the fall and am hoping to be able to secure a single at SK global ! Crossing fingers tho~ I’m not sure if you would know this but since the application is first come first serve, are you limited to just your first choice? I understand that single rooms are extremely limited, so if I did not get a single room, will Yonsei give me a double room or will they not offer me another option?
Love the video! Im gonna be in a single dorm this coming semester, Ive seen some singles with a balcony type window, and some that are a window like yours. Do you know which ones are more common???
hello! yes, there are lots of clubs and things open to students. some clubs aren't open to accepting exchange students though. I'm not sure about sports specifically, but I guess there are probably sports clubs!
Thank you so much for such a detailed video ♡♡ I have a question, do you need to pay for internet, electricity, water and heating or dorm price covers them?
yes but there’s not much to rearrange lol! i applied for a single, so that’s why i have my own room. because it’s so competitive, it mostly just depends who’s lucky with the application though
Hi! Since you did multiple levels, I was wondering if you know if you can stay in the dorm during the time between semesters (the 2-3 week vacation time) if you pay extra?
you mean like the dorm rooms r big?? i’m not sure 😅 but the dorms for exchange students and other students aren’t the same so i’m not very informed haha
it definitely depends on a lot of factors,, like your major, what you’re used to, what classes you take, etc. for me it wasn’t difficult compared to my home university, but i took a lot of study abroad courses. overall yonsei doesn’t seem more difficult than schools in north america tho for sure, but the ways you’re graded is quite different:)
hello! no, there are many different dorms. some dorms are only for foreigners. it’s also very competitive to get a room in the dorm, so many people have to live off campus
Hi!! thanks for this video. It helped a lot. Well, there's a system on Yonsein's page that seems like the first comer will get the room ( first come first serve). Did you have a hard time finding it too? I'm a little worried I'm going to come to Korea in September and I'm afraid that I won't be able to find a dormitory :( I would be very happy if you inform me about this...
hey sorry i didn’t see your comment for so long, i hope everything worked out for you. yes, the program is really stressful because its first come first serve. i had a few different devices open and kept refreshing on the sign up day! so its all kind of by chance/luck. my friend who was faster couldn’t even get a spot, but they ended up finding a great share house that i was so jealous of lol!
hi! no, you aren’t allowed to have anything to cook/heat in your room. but in SK there is the kitchen in the basement where you could probably use one, i’m not sure.
the process is seriously terrible!! basically you’ll get all the links etc from the school before the application opens, but the most important thing when applying is speed. everyone logs in to the website at the same time to get a spot, so expect to be reloading for an hour or so. the single rooms are more competitive than the double from what i’ve heard, but in reality it’s hard to get any room. i think SK is more competitive than international house as well. as for who gets a room and who doesn’t, overall it’s kind of random/luck. since everyone is reloading at the same time, there’s no way to know if you’ll get a spot or not until it’s announced. i’m glad i got a spot for sure, but there are also some other great options near campus. i have friends who live in share-houses and their rooms are better and much nicer (and still affordable). i don’t regret living in the dorm (the location is nice if you’ll be taking korean classes or IEE classes [i think most of those classrooms are right next to the international dorms]) but besides the location there aren’t many other perks. there aren’t dorm activities or opportunities to meet people, and some people have problems with persistent mosquitoes in their rooms (even in november!!). anyways, i think it’s worth applying to the dorm but don’t worry if you don’t get a spot!:) lmk if you have any specific questions
yes! for exchange students, there are many options for classes in english. for regular students, if you enter into UIC, all your classes will be in english i think.
Hi, thanks for the video! I’ve just been offered an exchange place at Yonsei, and I was wondering, cos the website isn’t that helpful, what do you pay for your single room? Xx

you can only stay in the dorms while you’re a student, you can rent an apartment after. it’s not very common to buy a house in seoul
