I was an exchange student at Ewha last year during Spring and this video already got me in the first 20 seconds!! Just seeing the room again brought back so many memories. I was in I-House A too but my layout was just a bit different with me and my roommate looking right into the room and our window/balcony from the door, with the closet on our left and the door to the bathroom right after that, on the left as well. With the fridge sitting across from the bathroom entrance, so on the right from the door’s POV. I was so scared living in the dorms would be kinda shitty but it really felt like home after just a couple of weeks. You could put me in there again and I’d be happy… aside from the ‘wet room’ style bathroom!
I didn't have a meal stipend or meal plan. I ate out most of the time at nearby restaurants. A lot of the nearby restaurants are usually very affordable because most of their customers are college students.
Hi! Thanks for this useful video hehe :)) I am also going to be at ewha from feb on and as we only receive dorm placement info at the beginning of feb I wanted to ask if you have any experience (also friends etc) how many people do not get in? I applied for double room cuz I thought it would be more likely to get a slot but the first come first serve kind of scares me :/
hey! thank you for watching and congratulations on your acceptance! I honestly did not hear many stories about people not getting into the dorms. A lot of study abroad students even make the decision to live off campus and don't go the dorm route so I wouldn't worry too much! However, I know there are some cheap housing alternatives if there are no more dorms available. Often times, the university will provide students with alternative options that are close by to the university.
Hi, could I ask a question? How much do you have to pay to live in the dorm? Should it be paid in full at the beginning of the semester or per month? Is it possible to book for a whole year? Thanks.
Hi! The amount to live at the dorms for one semester (4 months) was about 1,888,000 won. I paid this amount at once at the beginning of the semester in mid-September. If you're staying for the whole year, you might have to pay for the dorms again during the next semester which I would assume might be the same amount!
Congratulations on your acceptance to Ewha! There is no kitchen in the room but each floor should have a communal kitchen that anyone on that floor can use. I never got to use the cafeteria myself since I ate out most of the time and the cafeteria was somewhat far. But, I do believe you have to pay for each meal which is usually not that expensive. Alternatively, most restaurants around the campus are also inexpensive!
hi! i only had to pay once at the beginning of the semester in September. The amount to live at the dorms for one semester (4 months) was about 1,888,000 won which is about $1,480 USD. Hope this helps!
hi! thank you for watching my video! I studied communication and korean! I'm not sure how much each course cost but I got to study abroad in korea through my home university so I was able to receive financial assistance!
Since I studied abroad in Korea last fall when covid was a higher risk, students who lived in the dorms didn't have a roommate. This was to prevent any spreading of the virus! I also stayed at Ewha from late August to late December. Hope this helps!
Hi! My study abroad experience is unrelated to my current job as an english teacher. It was just an exchange semester abroad to finish my bachelors degree from my home university. I have no previous teaching experience. I just applied to EPIK and you only need a college degree and a TEFL certificate to be considered. Hope this helps! :)
Hi, could you help with smth? actually i applied to ewha to fall semester, and i notice in the guidelines you have to comprove $20,000 in a bank account to get there (in the consulate interview) did you have to do this?
hi! I did have to show proof of a certain amount of money in my bank account. I think for me it was between $5,000 - $10,000. Maybe you can contact your nearest consulate to confrim the correct amount!
Since I was an exchange student at Ewha, they didn't offer any financial aid. Most of the financial aid i received was from my home university back in the states.

as someone who is hoping to go to Ewha in the fall, I was wondering if through your program you had a meal stipend or if there was a meal plan?
I didn't have a meal stipend or meal plan. I ate out most of the time at nearby restaurants. A lot of the nearby restaurants are usually very affordable because most of their customers are college students.

hi! i’m going to ewha this coming fall! what were the rules for the dorm, in terms of curfew and bringing friends into your dorm room?
Hii sisi?! Did they teach ur course in English? Like r the books in English? (both learning and writing)
Thank you❤
Hi! Yes, all of my courses were taught in English. The only textbooks that were in Korean were for my Korean language course of course.

I am going to EWHA next year. Is there no kitchen in the room? Also, how does the cafeteria work? Do you have to pay for each meal?
The way I have similar questions lmao, I'll be studying abroad there for the spring '24 semester.

Does ewha provide financial aid or student loans for foreign students?
