    Great video! Loved how you showed the facilities as well. I’m planning to study abroad during the fall and am hoping to be able to secure a single at SK global ! Crossing fingers tho~ I’m not sure if you would know this but since the application is first come first serve, are you limited to just your first choice? I understand that single rooms are extremely limited, so if I did not get a single room, will Yonsei give me a double room or will they not offer me another option?

    I did a three week program at Lexis a year ago too. It was around Halloween. I liked the school. My Korean level is pre intermediate too which is an awkward place to be because you still sound like a beginner but at least for me I’ve already studied all the beginner grammar and vocabulary quite a bit. But you can’t necessarily tell that when talking to me 😂. Maybe it’s better than a year ago. I think they put me in the low beginner class and after I complained they moved to the upper beginner class. I think the jump from high beginner to low intermediate is really big. If they had bumped me up another class my poor ability to output would have slowed the class down most likely. So I didn’t ask to get bumped up again even though I knew all the grammar. I only knew about half the vocab in the book we studied but in my defense the words I didn’t know seemed pretty advanced unless I wanted to work as a nurse maybe. Do you recommend the online classes?

    • @yyaksok5039
      @yyaksok5039 6 месяцев назад

      hey I think the online classes were pretty good, but it's hard to compare that experience to the IRL classes tbh. still useful tho! I think I was in pre-intermediate at lexis too (or one higher??) and it was a bit awkward, I had to move levels and it was still an awkward fit after self-studying, since I already knew the content but wasn't good at speaking,, I get what you mean, I have been struggling w the difference between intermediate to advanced, the only thing that's helped me at this point is reading novels but it's still so tough...

    • @paulwalther5237
      @paulwalther5237 6 месяцев назад

      @@yyaksok5039 I’m reading novels too. I’ve tried several. Most are professional translations into Korean but currently I am reading a DeepL translation of Alcatraz versus the Evil Librarians. It’s not bad at all. It’s easier to understand than real Korean novels and I’m increasing my vocab. Obviously I’ll have to make the jump to real Korean novels later. If I lived in Korea and could just walk into the older kids section of a bookstore to browse that would be perfect.
