I don't think it was about hope. He'd lost his wife, been forced to kill his own daughter, and the city had gone utterly to crap. He'd made his decision. As far as he'd known, he'd lost everything....and then an old friend tells him that he's found a way out, and he's *not* going anywhere without him. Meaning he's willing to die to see Kendo get out. This isn't a story of hope, it's a story of loyalty. His friend is the last precious thing he's got. He's not fighting to save himself, but his friend's life.
Its the same that in darkest dungeon when the hero after a full amount of stress instead of lose his mind he overcome to it and it becomes determinated
he did only shoot once in re2 remake. as dumb as it sounds i sometimes wonder. but youd think jill would know or chris. but maybe they do and we just dont.
Pretty nice to know he had a better personality here then in the original. If you played the Claire A scenario Robert sounded like he was hitting on her if you talked to him before zombies broke the glass in his shop and ate him alive.

This reminds me of original Dawn of the Dead. There was a character that has kinda given up and is ready to face his death because he's surrounded by dozens of zombies. He is about to commit suicide, then he changes his mind and starts shooting his way through the horde because he decided it's not his time yet.
Peter, my man... Always loved both him and Roger, the whole film amazing. But always got a kick in the stomach when I see the trucks when rewatching the movie...a classic.
I love how Kendo has to put aside his grief if he wants to make it out of Raccoon City alive, his daughter may be gone but he knows he can't just lay down and die, there's truly no time to mourn..
To me I love it, cause track one seems like he's still not convinced, still thinking he shouldn't keep going. Second part is a little more hopeful, seeming that he is still sad but more motivated, and finally third phase seems to be just a full on I have to survive and do this.

too bad the build up part actually lasts for just about 30 seconds long when you play the mode. I wish the "intense_part_start" script would be far further in the map
