I thought I recognized that Bridger Jacket. I have one and it's my favorite, and I have a lot of waxed canvas to compare. The fit, details, liner is all top notch. Love the brown, and might need to get one now.
Did you size down one or two sizes in that Filson thermal? I just got mine today sized down to a medium and the shoulders are still a little bigger than I'd like.
Great stuf, sadly in UK we need something for the rain !!! How about a waterproof Parka or such like ? Thanks for your time, I'm trying to nail down my heritage style at 68 years old. Regards from England.
Been working on getting down to a capsule wardrobe, myself. Mostly just replacing multiples of low/mid-quality with one or two high quality item(s). These are pretty good suggestions, though I lean toward shirt colors that pop a bit more and I live in the midwest where we have 3-4 seasons and it can get really hot and really cold, so I have a couple more pairs of shoes, another pair of pants, and a few more shirts - more like a 20-item capsule.
For merino wool socks, the smell will definitely stop (there’s a massive difference), but it won’t necessarily stop the sweating. I worked in a refrigerated warehouse (30 degrees) and at the end of my work day my boots would be visibly we looking from sweat, and that was with a single mid weight to lightweight merino wool sock.
@BootSpy Ordered some of your socks couple of days back(new, not your oft used socks), I don’t believe I’ve received a purchase receipt of any kind. Whom might I contact. Thanks!
Practically the same. Canvas is cotton. The most popular one is the Flint and Tinder one from Huckberry. It's made in USA. Also have a wool lined version if you're in colder areas.
Will, you’ve been rocking that Filson jean jacket and the first time I saw you wearing it I knew it had to be a Filson… (I have a lot of Filson gear and jackets) so of course this Old Timer had to check on Filson to see it and I bought one…. I sure didn’t need another jacket but they just put it on a Black Friday sale, so I jumped on it….! I read the reviews and sized up a size…. Bought it yesterday so I haven’t received it yet… That is one sharp looking lined jacket….! I have to quit watching you, I spend to much money….😂 Another excellent haberdashery video buddy….. 👍Greg
Red wings are not exactly good for walking around town. Great for onsite jobs. They hold up more than anything from my experience. Majorly rugged. But boots for style and daily walking around, red wings are not it.
A possible choice for under $200 are Clark's desert boots. And if you get them in leather rather than suede, you won't have to worry about getting them wet.
Also, if I narrow the broad term "heritage" down by genre or decade, yeah, it becomes really simple to dress like a greaser or an 8th Army Airman from 1943 because you're just wearing pretty much the EXACT SAME OUTFIT every single day....
If you throw in a pair of black denim in there you'll have even way more options.
But then it'd be 12 pieces. We're sticking to 11 here, buddy!

I don't know if it's because i'm approaching my 30's but heritage style make so much sense to me now 😅
Same 😂
Same, very weird because 13 years ago I thought this style was for wannabe hipsters and trend followers. But it stood the test of time.
@@louiothe hipsters definitely took it too far in the early 2010s haha.
Nah facts. I’ve been feeling the same way😂
Same. I feel way too childish in streetwear nowadays. I've been buying alot of heritage stuff.
Would you wear green pants with green thermal or green flannel?
I thought I recognized that Bridger Jacket. I have one and it's my favorite, and I have a lot of waxed canvas to compare. The fit, details, liner is all top notch. Love the brown, and might need to get one now.
Hey man, how is it compared to the other ones you have? I was thinking of maybe going with the flint and tinder one. Do you have any recommendations?
Awesome video - especially when just entering the heritage scene!

Great vid, solid advice all around. What's the ID on the waxed jacket?
Great video William.
Beautiful video, however you HAVE to include a classic white tee.
I missed it! Will have to make another
Which flannel is that? Really like the style.
It looks like an Outerknown Blanket Shirt in Faded Olive Check?
You could make a nice Canadian tuxedo here
What brand/model were those olive green chinos?
Brave Star denim is the best it's made in America and affordable!
Hey just wondering, where did you get the pair of Fatigue pants from?

You live in North Carolina so you may share some of my pain what do you do when wearing pants is just not an option
Great video!
really wanna know who makes those olive pants
Sooo, where’s that waxed jacket from?
Came here for this too. He never mentioned the brand.
Not fully sure, but looks very similar to the one from P&Co
That is the Flint and Tinder Waxed Trucker Jacket. Flannel lined. They also have wool lined and unlined.

raw denim jacket link or brand name please
My only problem with heritage atyle is that jts heavy ish and not enough stretch.
I like this kind of video, i think the dark colors for tops clash with your skin tone though.
Are waxed canvas jackets the same as waxed cotton jackets?
Practically the same. Canvas is cotton. The most popular one is the Flint and Tinder one from Huckberry. It's made in USA. Also have a wool lined version if you're in colder areas.
@@FishnchipsyipHuh good to know. I've only ever heard it called waxed canvas, but makes sense. Do you ever have to re-apply wax to the outside?
@@porkchopproductions0314yep. It’s recommended to reapply the wax as it wears out. Usually beeswax or another one from a brand called Otterwax.
@@Fishnchipsyip Thanks! I was in the market and your advice helps

Just wash your socks my friend😂
Literally have thousands of socks. I won’t do it. I will wear them 3 times in a row forever!

Ok. Everything but vintage underwear. Lol

i want to dress like this but i look like a baby😭
Grant Stones are awfully expensive for being made in China
They’re high quality though. Alden is like twice the price and worse quality but made in the USA.
Grant stones are the highest quality boots I own besides my Nick's builder pros but that's a very different boot
It’s not the 1970s, made in china no longer mean cheap poor quality. Get with the times lol.
YEAH, so here's where I will likely disagree with the math and probably some of the styles and therefore combos thereof...
And how many months does this last before the key items need replacement?
Also, if I narrow the broad term "heritage" down by genre or decade, yeah, it becomes really simple to dress like a greaser or an 8th Army Airman from 1943 because you're just wearing pretty much the EXACT SAME OUTFIT every single day....
Don't forget the South Seas in the chambray and denim, too.
But you should also have more than ONE pair of shoes or boots and rotate them, so already we're at $400 or $600 for 2 or 3 pairs of Thursday boots.
And we're already at $1200 if we buy three pairs of Grant Stone, so I guess gotta settle for two?
