Rugged Heritage: The ULTIMATE Guide To Achieving The Look
Gents, want an edgy look that isn't based on boring basics, allowing you to express yourself and look stylish at the same time? Blending casual workwear with heritage and a sprinkling of Western Americana, Rugged Heritage is a style that's evolved over the past 20 years. You'll find it in certain corners of the US and Japan, and it has become the go-to street style for men over 40 in Europe's capital cities. The men who have embraced it put a lot of thought and effort into the aesthetic, showcasing their personality as well as their eye for craftsmanship, much the same as the Italian philosophy of Sprezzatura. Intrigued? In this video, we'll show you how to put this look together, and where to shop.
We will look at Rugged Heritage: The ULTIMATE Guide To Achieving The Look --Keep watching to see heritage clothing, such as Henely shirt long sleeve, selvedge jeans, fedora and tweed clothing. Also Barbour waxed jacket, and waxed trucker jacket, and Harris tweed. Stay tuned for slow fashion, heritage style for men, and selvedge fade. And also Nudie selvedge denim, Carhartt, and stylish grease monkey.

Quite a few pics from the & Sons Trading range there, but no mention. They're a UK brand well worth checking out, although a lot of their stuff isn't made in the UK which is a shame.
Well spotted! Thanks for watching.
Guys, it's unbelievable work. Keep going. I love this staff
Thanks so much!
I's a gr8 fashion style that I try to take advantage of, but I still think it is utterly useless for warmer climates, and it will only get worse while the climate is getting warmer.
I live in the Mediterranean, and we get sun, and > 17ºC (62ºF) days for 3/4 of the year, which means that even slightly ticker fabrics are a no-go unless you want to feel uncomfortable for most of the year.
Also, I think everything that draws from heritage... workwear... americana... military... needs a desperate re-think. The so-called "good quality fabrics" means that most of the time we are talking about heavier weight cotton, but bear in mind, the world has and is changing, fabric technology and techniques have evolved, my most comfortable pair of... let's call 'em... mid-season denim pants, are a cotton/linen blend, anything on the heavier side will only be tolerable when autumn/winter are upon us.
TL;DR love the rugged... workwear... americana... heritage influences, but they mostly work for colder climates.
We absolutely agree. We too live in a tropical climate. Although there are many ways you can adapt the style to the heat: opt for loose fit green or blue trousers, for example, in linen or lightweight cotton. Ditch the boots for some funky sneakers. Pack away the flannels and instead go for a lightweight Tees or linen shirts. Alternatively, you can become a chameleon: dress in your favourite heritage wear during the colder months, and switch to something more season-appropriate when it heats up. The beauty is that this style is open to interpretation and there are no hard and fast rules.
