The most important element in ALL of this is the care and attention and patience the technician brings to the job. Too many tire techs act like they're competing in an F1 race pitstop, and that's where things go wrong in the shop.
Thnks again Korey for another super informative video. Let’s see, it is just as you said having the proper equipment and being specifically trained at two non negotiable. Definitely on a Hunter Rev new tire changer for my vis CF wheels when I need new tires. Thank you.
Great video, would be awesome if the company that makes the Hunter Revolution machine list all the shops nationally that use this machine. Would love to use a shop that has access to insure no damage is occurring even on my forged wheels.
The other part of Austin's problem was getting the new run flat tire bead to seal on the rim. It looked like you remounted the old tire. How has a new tire worked for you?
Austin was having issues with the Cup 2 r'S which are the runflat tires. The vehicle we had to work with didn't have this factory tire option but the install would work the same. The difference is the Cup 2 r's have a much stiffer sidewall being run flat so it's much harder to seat the bead. I have no doubt we could get the bead to seat at Shottenkirk given the opportunity :)
@@koreypayne9610 Video shows dismount and mount of a PS4S ZP tire so it is also a runflat tire. A C2R might have a stiffer sidewall but there shouldn't be any issue as you've shown in the video. Yeah like the other person said lose the music and show the whole procedure in actual time and not speeded up in some areas otherwise great video!!!!
Ok, cool. Now Chevy needs to make sure , that every dealership has a $45K to change the tires. This is a MUST tool for every dealership that sells high end sport cars !!
Perhaps a LIST of dealerships that have these machines and can do the work? Perhaps knowing we can't get screwed like Austin from Speed Phenomenon did will actually SELL THOSE $20.000 sets of wheels and tires...especially when the much awaited ZR1 with 850HP Is due out in a year and will be using these wheels and tires!
Hunter revolution reached out to Speed Phenom. The amount of Carbon fiber wheels that are hitting the market place might want to make you ask who has this machine?
Did you guys roadforce that assembly after mounting the tire back up or you just did a balance? You have the procedure figured out re: mounting and dismounting but if you did a roadforce and it wasn't in spec that would mean another bead breaking and spinning the tire around to redo the roadforce. More attempts of the wheel on the Revolution could mean more chance of damage but looks like you guys got this just hope another place does also.
As I watch the video there appears to be some contact with the wheel. There is no contact of the wheels on the front outer edges. Am I correct that the tools touch the inside edge of the wheel? Could this cause the coating on the wheel to crack or flake off? I wish you were closer to my location so I could have some of your products installed on my 70th C8. enjoy watching you on Rick Conti channel.
On the tire machine itself, the shaft gets pulled down & applies pressure on the very inner portion of where the center cap would cover with the small coupler. Due to the pressure being applied down & not having to twist the shaft to lock the wheel into place, the chances of it causing wear, damage etc.. is very very slim. There is an adapter that can be used to go through where the lug studs are but we found that the Carbon wheels have a spacer where the lug studs go for the extended lug nuts so the adapter wasn't able to be used. There are shorter adapters to allow this but we didn't have any on hand at the time of filming.
Can you help me Corey I know Shottenkirk as they havr multiple dealerships and I’m South but can you help me get a set of All Seasons for my Z06? I go to Colorado and every month of the year I can (and do spend time at elevations. Thus, Chevy said once they were “producing the ERay” (not selling) they would release or have Michelin release the array tires that would fit the Z06. Got mine from Rick Conti! Just saw you doing some amazing work for him! I have 70th anniversary in White! Please contact Rick he will give you my number. That way I can come visit! Hoping you can help me not destroy my summer tires and still when I visit in May and June getting ice/run off. Help!

Paragon is the place to go for ALL C8 needs..
Don't waste your time and money Fu@@ing around with inexperience shops.
Perfect timing, thanks Korey!
No problem Rick!
it would be nice to be able to have a one stop source to find locations across states that can do this !!!
Awesome video!!
About time someone obtain the equipment and know how to do the job!!
Awesome Video Korey!
Excellent work Paragon and great video!
Excellent video. Exactly the information I was looking for to insure the tires on my Carbon Fiber wheels could safely be replaced.

Absolutely great
Thank you!
Now that was pretty cool! Made it look easy!
When you have the right equipment and great technicians it is easy!
Ive never wanted a corvette so bad

I was thinking about run flats also. Discount had a tough time setting my beads

Awesome video and information…will help me when the times comes to have the tires changed on my CF wheels 👍
Glad you found it helpful!
Nice job. Speed Phenom / Austin was a sell out for blaming this on GM. It was the shop that messed up his wheel.
I needed this for my Forgeline Wheels. Discount scratched the barrels!
Sorry to hear that :(
Great video, guys. I would assume GM will make this required equipment to sell Corvettes inthe future.
All the hand involvement means the walk away is you replace the tire. There is minimum automation

Another great video
My dealer won’t do it and they don’t know of any place around Michigan that will. Hence no CF wheels for me
Your dealerships needs more training. If they can't service CF wheels can they be trusted to work on your car even?

Can you change tires on a CFTP Shelby GT500? Nobody in town wants to mess with it.
I’d be s…ing a brick every time I had that worked on or even taking it out with the pot holes here - hard no

So only a HAND FULL of dealers have this $45,000 tire machine 😕
You can search their site to find a shop with the machine near you.

Wheels will get damaged in every day driving . Pass on carbon fiber wheels . 95 % of shops will not have that tire changer.
Turn the music off.
Now show a candid shot of some disgruntled garage monkey after a rough day or two...
I will take a pass on carbon fiber wheels to much of a pain in the ass
