  • The 2023 Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 992 GT3 are some of the most exciting dream cars in the world. With manufacturer support, we compare the engineering, driving character, pros, and cons, then set lap times at Autobahn Country Club to determine what makes both of these cars so capable. While the Z06 and GT3 are expensive, ranging from $105,000 to $250,000, these cars represent many's passion for driving. We attempt to unique the automotive world by celebrating these special cars.

The Porsche on the other hand makes me feel like they made that car for me- the driver, no compromises, just pure speed and passion. Both companies made an emotional decision to make a car that was for us. I just feel like they were both thinking of me when they designed them. The past few years have been shit for all of us. Chevy and Porsche made things better, even if I can't afford either the world is better now that they are here. I haven't seen that in any industry in a long time.

Excellent video. A recommendation is to do the video as sold price, not MSRP because it’s misleading.
The admin price markups were briefly mentioned but are a key factor. In SoCal you can more easily get a C8 at MSRP and maybe $10k- $25k over for a floor model that is needed ASAP. Porsche on the other hand has dealerships that screw over its clients with 150k-200k+ over (pricing as of yesterday, 4/22/2023) at local shady dealerships like Porsche San Diego or Porsche Carlsbad. So a $175k C8 Z08 v. a $375k+ 992 GT3. It’s time for Porsche to actually solve the dealership problem.

Yesterday, I saw a C8 and C7 within about 15 minutes while driving and was struck by how graceful the C7 body remains, despite its technical obsolescence. If Chevrolet can control themselves with the ridiculous carbon fiber parts - splitter, wing, engine intake, and silliest of all the ‘diffuser’ - the C8 stands a chance of one day being the only Corvette, as they got the important stuff really right.

The main thing is the rich history that Porsche has on the track from day one with no floundering, no wavering and no compromises. All of their special models from the beginning of their history are valued and highly cherished and Porsche still supports them. GM on the other hand is still a newcomer to this in comparison and my only reservation is will they be able to bang out the laps and compete with the proven quality that Porsche brings to the table. Porsche was winning races in the 1970's with those outstanding racing cars when Chevrolet barely phoned it in with their production Vette. Not enough CVT and corporate buzzwords on the video. Very dissapointed Mark and Jack. Disliked and unsubsribed.

Thank you for pitting some of the best cars in the world against each other! (The Lotus Emira is very close to my heart, too...) I have a deposit down on the C8 Z06 and while I am patiently waiting, I cannot get enough of my base manual 996 911. Long live gas-powered cars!

You guys have officially found and blown your niche wide open within RUclips. So much quality over absolute quantity, which is a rarity now. It's become simply incredible.... a true automotive pleasure to watch in so many regards. We cannot thank you enough.
These cars have gotten so insanely good that it seems to be splitting hairs to find where one excels over the other, especially when they spend most of their time on the streets for a lot of buyers. And finally, thank you to GM and Porsche. Where some other high end car manufacturers have openly stated they don't want their cars being benchmarked and compared against one another for these videos, both of these companies were willing to step forward and show the best of what these platforms currently offer with nearly every controllable variable being held equal. It truly feels as if the lap times could have been multiple seconds apart and no one would really have lost. Two world class vehicles.

Wow, I think this was one of the best videos I’ve seen on RUclips. What a showcase, it was incredible to see the collaboration and friendly competition between the two OEMs. Truly amazing cars and it’s crazy to see how far we’ve come. Great video
