This video is super helpful. I can't wait for my next winter project!! Thank you. One question though on size. Throughout these comments it mentions 66mm and 70mm as the correct size. I assume 66mm x 101mm on ebay are the right ones to order??? Thank you!!!
Ok I tried with the dremel! It would have taken forever! I went to harbor Frieght ant got a Hercules die grinder (super sized dremel). The abrasive wheel barely cut on mine! I bought a Lenox metalmax 2” Diamond wheel #1972917. Cutoff all 4 tips in 10 minutes. The 66mm is the inlet size. Hope this helps.
I can't thank you enough,I went to harbor freight grabbed the die grinder I couldn't find the cutting wheel you had so I ordered some from Amazon went through 2 of them for the 3 tips I had left after slam dunking my Dremel back in the tool box. it took 10 mins to cut off all 3 vs 10 mins for one with the Dremel.
Thank you!!! Short of replacing or removing the c8 Cats, there is no big improvewmnt in sound over the OEM performance exhaust. I think replacing the catback- spending time and money is not worth it. Replacing the tip only was on my mind. Thanks!!!! This was awesome .
That is brilliant! Dremels are the shiz. Lotta shops raging about this, but cutting is cutting. Dremel no worse than sawzall or torch for tip removal. and in some ways better since you're cutting from inside. Thanks for the tip (no pun intended)!
I love the Ackrapovic tips you installed. Can you tell me the size you recommend and where you purchased them so I can make sure aI don’t buy a cheap knock off. Did you use a SS clamp to secure them to the factory system? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Man this is awesome. Great job and thanks for sharing. I was going to just paint the factory tips but this looks so much better. Any new advice since you posted this?
Great video. I'm new to the corvette world. I just got my first vet. 2022 2LT. I'm going to change the exhaust eventually but I'm ok with the sound of the exhaust for now but I want to change the tips. I was wondering if it could be done without taking the bumper off. After you changed the tips did it change the sound and what tips did you replace the old ones with?
Look for any exhaust tips you like they have to measure 70mm inlet 101 mm out make sure they come with a strong clamp and bolt.if not pick a few clamps up at any muffler shop.ref the sound no change in sound
You appear to cut the tip off from the inside. Does a section of the tip stay welded to the factory pipe slightly increasing the diameter of the factory pipe size or are you able to separate the entire tip from the pipe leaving the original factory pipe size. Just want to do this right.

It appears you are cutting the entire inner circle of the tip along with the pipe? Is this correct?
Ignore my earlier questions. I pretty much found my answers in the other comments. Thanks for the helpful video
Just make sure you go to a muffler shop and get better clamps

A part of the factory outer welded ring stays. so its 2.75 inches or 70mm in and you would want 101mm out wich is 3.97mm close to a 4 inch out.
Ty. This clears up a lot.
Does this car have Z51 exhaust? I’m wondering if the base exhaust and the performance upgraded exhaust would use different size tips.
There all the same size z51 or non z51
What cut-off wheel did you use - I tried a fiberglass reinforced wheel, I am getting no where fast with it
Homedepot dremal section for cutting metal
How do you know how deep inside the tip to cut?
You can see a line inside the pipe
Would you mind changing out my tips on my c8
What’s the name of the tips you put on?

Disregard my question. I found my answers in the comments. Thank you all
