It’s 100% a compliment puller for me, the women in the office noticed it from a good 2-3 meters away. BUT it’s hard to justify that price tag on a designer even if it is an elixir concentration 🤷♂️
Sauvage has 10% muscenone, a very expensive musk in very high dosage. Most niche houses could not afford such a high dosage. Although I do not like it, I must say that the raw materials are very high quality.
I initially liked this, like really liked this one, but found it annoying after a few hours. The spices are fine but there was a sweetness that just wouldn't go away. Maybe ambroxan? It just became kind of heavy and cloying. Just my two cents. Great review, loved the ending!

The price for a 60ml is high , but it’s a better quality than aventus and my god it lasts over a full day on me and my sleeve on my jacket , in fact the downstairs cloakroom were my jacket Is smells like there is a beautiful air freshener in there and I only sprayed a bit on my hand in boots and a bit went on the sleeve
I’m pleased you like this. After much testing I decided to buy it. It’s the most I’ve ever paid for a fragrance and I don’t regret it one bit. It’s quite addicting, and very impressive to my nose. I’ll wear it a lot over the next 6 months. What other scents do you recommend in this vein? I’m not sure hot to think of this style, but I want more of it. @NTR same here, most expensive frag I've ever bought too but you're right it's very impressive and I've just ordered one at £85 so a bit of a bargain if it arrives. As for an alternative? I would happily buy Ysl Y edp if I hadn't have splashed out on elixer.
Mate i love sauvage elixir. If you like this style you gotta check out the dna of oud for geratnes by initio. It’s very expensive (like 250 bucks for 90ml) but it has this dna plus oud. If you want a cheapie clone of that smell check out supremacy in oud by afnan, it’s a little less quality, yet a bit sweeter than oud for greatness but it’s only 35-50 bucks. It’s definitely in the same ballpark as sauvage but where sauvage uses licorice, oud for greatness and supremacy in oud use oud, both not real ouds btw.
Very Nice George! I agree George the prices have become stupid expensive now days...I have stopped buying them because of that...I mean i will buy it if it is some super duper good one otherwise i am done buying tell the prices come down to earth which i do not think will happen!

Love your take on it. I found this to be fantastic and thankfully I had the money to spend on this and not feel remorse. Im with you on the prices being insane overall for a lot of fragrances.
Yes a 50ml with a discount would be the way forward ! Very expensive at a 120 quid and headling into niche territory I imagine it will sell and you will smell it on the london transport system and all over the place like you did with aventus in recent times and the original sauvage
Creed????? Seriously Aaron?? Watered down and ridiculous price. But yes price is insane. Almost 200 dollars for my 60 ml bottle here in Kingston Ontario Canada from Hudson Bay.
2 sprays will fill a room an last the whole day so to me its worth it my bottle will last a long time plus I already have a ton of fragrances an im not wearing it everyday
It is about $200 with tax here in Canada. That is only a 60ml too. However, Tom Ford has crazy high prices for a designer, so I guess Dior said we can too.

Lol it only comes in a 60ml as far as I know. I like it, but I don’t own any other Sauvage. For me the size and price works. It is expensive, but for how long it lasts and projects. Also where I live, it’s hot for the most part of the year. So I have a smaller window of wear lol.

Don’t focus too much on the price. I got my bottle in France with 30% discount ie 144€ down to 97€ at Marionnaud. Moreover instead of applying 4 to 5 sprays, 2 sprays or 3 are enough. That means you have a 100ml or 120ml for 97€. And it is a wonderful scent as you said. 👍
People complain about the price. Distributors are the main reason for astronomical prices. Aside from all fragrances from being overpriced, this is relatively not bad. Many niche fragrances are astronimical, and one could argue that the artistry of some warrent the high price. A painting can fetch thousands, although the canvas and paint cost well below a hundred pounds/dollars etc. Sauvage Elixir contains some very beautiful and very expensive musks and materials. The naturals are brilliant quality, e.g. the bergamot and lavender. It apparently contains 10% muscenone and also could contain an expensive form of ambroxide called Ambrox Super. Both these synthetics smell amazing and at such high dosages make the sauvage quality top notch. Yes it is not niche-like artistic, but the quality is better than most niche you would be happy to pay a lot more for. I honestly think no niche house would be happy to put 10% muscenone in their fragrances, its extremely expensive. So, in all honesty, within context I do not think the pricing is that bad relative to what many niche houses are asking for, or even the Dior Collection Privee. Just a thought. Disclaimer, I am actually not a fan of any of the Sauvage line, including this latest flanker. I am just trying to be objective. All the best :)
There’s no getting away from it, it’s good in fact it’s very good. Cost hmmmm you can get it around £90 if you drop on a deal still a little high but worth it. Of the line head and shoulders above the rest for me
Own Sauvage, never wear it (I just prefer carbon so I wear that if I’m ever in the mood) but I do have to say this one took me by surprise and it’s pretty damn good
Same. I have Sauvage (edt) and find myself only wearing it because of the idea that everyone else likes it. This one on the other hand, I wear for me, it’s almost like a treat 😂
some other tubers make me laugh when they moan about the price, especially american ones that brought out there own frags early on and charged 300 plus! seen vids of women choosing lynx/axe over the designer stuff so anything over a few quid is over priced really, from all the designer crap i had over the years, only dior stuff have i really got my monies worth.
Hi George, I look forward to your reviews and opinions in general whether I agree or not. I agree that this is massively overpriced and undersized and I only bought it through a sizeable discount online. I have given it a few full wearings now and I have to say that I love it and how well it works in the weather us Brits are currently experiencing. It garnered some amazing compliments especially from my barber who I presented a sample to afterwards. I would say sample it if you can and only buy it if you can get at 20% off the rrp which is £112 for 60ml
Its a weird one for me..... I fluctuate between I love it, I don't like it, Its great..... Performance is great, dry down smells great after spraying on cloths(after 24 hours) I kinda reminds me of a ladies perfume from about 20 years ago... can remember the name, anais anais comes to mind but might not be that one.
I seem to be one of the few people who actually prefer the parfum concentration over the edt and edp, and while I've only worn my sample of Elixir a few times, I've been really enjoying this one too. Plus, I'm a sucker for "cool" bottle designs and they knocked it outta the park here, so its gonna be really hard not to just throw away my money and pick this up for retail 😄
It's honestly really good, but, yeah the price is definitely high. You're better off getting it from discounters or FB groups to get it at a better price.
It's pretty good. But per ml this stuff is just as expensive as creed, PDM, roja and initio. At the end of the day no way i'm spending that much for this. Btw I just found 2016 Millisime Imperial and holy fuck it's the same sparkly notes as the new formula, but lasts 8 hours. I finally understand your addiction George.
@@xSnowboardStarzx yeah Initio's bottle is only 90ml, PdM's big bottle comes in at 125ml and you can get them at discounters so, price per ml isn't too high for PdM and quite comparable to Elixir. Other ones are still significantly more expensive.
The sillage is a confusing beast. My office (and they don´t blink an eye when I am wearing something from Orto Parisi) gave really positive, but also really confused reactions. I got it for 84€, but from how little you need to spray, the price is OK-ish. When ATH tells me the raw materials are expensive and exquisite, that also helps^^
Sadly this bags a lot of compliments. Sadly? The lavender note gives you a relaxing and confident mood wearing it. I had no intention buying but was worth every penny. And as a sidenote, this actually lasts and performs. Do you hear me aventus?
get in my son!! so happy he liked it. I'm a Dior fan and Sauvage was a disappointment to me. when I got the EDT I gave it away the next day and didn't bother with the EDP or Parfum. I'm telling you now to all you people who didn't like Sauvage, like myself. elixir is everything Sauvage should have been from the start. .... watch it get discontinued. I mean I can't believe I'm even recommending it now.😕 I'll be getting a back up bottle, only because Dior keep reformulating everything or even that, discontinuing. got mine for 90£ and a free Dior water bottle.
Dior is bouncing back!! Thankfully!! With the new release of Dior Homme 2021 Original (which smells like the 2011 formula) and Elixr not being Suavage at all and it’s all day projection! Wish the name was not Suavage
Elixir does smell great, but I also find it quite too expensive. I find the drydown also somewhat similar to the drydown ol Pasha de Cartier Parfum, which is great in and of itself, plus more affordable. PS. The Elixir bottle is 60 ml. I doubt they would bring any 50ml presentation, but who knows. Given than their first bottle is 60ml already, I'd have more hopes for a 30 than a 50 ml.
I'm curious what is the deciding factor when you use the words "quid" and "pound"? Do they mean the same thing? Is it like americans saying "dollars" and "bucks"?
New to the channel, but where did you get the decanted sample from? I can't find any Dior fragrances decanted. I was tempted to order it from the states and wait for 10 days or so when it was first released, but patience prevailed, and got it when it became available here in this sandbox metropolis. Damn, it was worth the wait. It might be the only actual glass bottle of cologne I travel with if I can't find it decanted.
its a quality juice couldn't initially get any of the metallic notes in the original but a few hours in they seemed to be lurking around the edges...where's that decant atomiser from?
I have to Get This off my chest. There is something About This guy thats so personal and speak to me In a Way that No other youtuber has. Btw im buying elexir :)
Haha a 50ml… there’s only a 60ml dude. Dior is putting one over on all of us by trying to convince us that the $155 for 60ml is justified because the marketing says it’s such a POWERFUL CONCENTRATION. All that to say goddammit it really is good and harkens back to old school aromatics while still smelling modern. I hate that I like it, but it is what it is.
We are all living in a flanker world. It seames to me there needs to be a breakthrough for all the major designer houses. Even Creed is going flanker. That's scary...especially when your asking for the same or even more then the original.
I do love Suavage Elixr but I would rather eat and pay rent then smell like every f boy in a 100 mile radius

some other tubers make me laugh when they moan about the price, especially american ones that brought out there own frags early on and charged 300 plus! seen vids of women choosing lynx/axe over the designer stuff so anything over a few quid is over priced really, from all the designer crap i had over the years, only dior stuff have i really got my monies worth.
Should've sold it in 100 ml. For only 60 ml, it's daylight robbery
Lol I like roberry. Had to have it🙂
Hi George, I look forward to your reviews and opinions in general whether I agree or not.
I get a Yankee Candle vibe from it. Nice enough.
When it really dries down, it’s basically Sauvage. I am with you on the price. Not worth it!
Bonkers in a good way. Love the drum roll. Well produced video.
Comrades, I think you should try 3 sprays of Spicebomb + 2 sprays of 212 sexymen. The feeling of the scent is quite similar.
Its a weird one for me..... I fluctuate between I love it, I don't like it, Its great.....
Performance is great, dry down smells great after spraying on cloths(after 24 hours)
I kinda reminds me of a ladies perfume from about 20 years ago... can remember the name, anais anais comes to mind but might not be that one.
Macy’s has a 15% off all fragrances including Dior elixir . Today is the last day ends October 4 go fast !
I already going for my second bottle.
I seem to be one of the few people who actually prefer the parfum concentration over the edt and edp, and while I've only worn my sample of Elixir a few times, I've been really enjoying this one too. Plus, I'm a sucker for "cool" bottle designs and they knocked it outta the park here, so its gonna be really hard not to just throw away my money and pick this up for retail 😄
it is a good fragrance. I will likely enjoy it during the fall and then save the rest for the next fall.
These videos are fucking awesome big dawg. 👏
Hugo Red must be pleased with himself being placed next to enigma on the shelf
Absolutely hate the opening, the liquorice doesn't belong there. The drydown however is 👌🏻
It's honestly really good, but, yeah the price is definitely high. You're better off getting it from discounters or FB groups to get it at a better price.
If you went out George with no fragrance on would people compliment you because they except to you to be smelling good ?
I asked them to make a richer darker fragrance... I really enjoyed it on first smell... it works well for me like a PDM version of Sauvage
It's too expensive for a designer fragrance to me. Will try it maybe it will change my mind. Where did the Dior video gone, George?
Greetings
Robert
Me too I wondered why the Dior video is gone. He might have got problems with LVMH.....
Thank you for posting this video:)
You definitely need to spray this 4 or 5 times a day. Everyone is saying this is a beast but it isnt. It is a skin scent after 30mins. Very weak stuff
Totally agree it’s not worth it $150 us for 60 ml no thanks I’d rather buy another xerjoff
Aventus comes out to more than a dollar per ml compared to elixir.
PdM yes but not the other ones unless u get Creed at a steep discount. Roja is dang expensive, way way more expensive than Elixir per ML.
@@lettuce1305 right, and initio is not even close, especially if it’s retail.
Nobody complains about Niche Prices. This is Niche quality. My Opinion. Tom Ford Signature ist the same pricepoint.
I complain about niche prices all the time!
I really like it, I paid £82 with a discount which I think is alright given it projects like a monster
What happened to the "Day Dior Died" video, the one outside the pub, did you get heat from LVMH to take it down?
get in my son!! so happy he liked it.
I mean I can't believe I'm even recommending it now.😕
I'll be getting a back up bottle, only because Dior keep reformulating everything or even that, discontinuing.
got mine for 90£ and a free Dior water bottle.
GET IN MY SON!!
Wonder if MFK will release a Dior flanker when he starts his tenure as the new in house perfumer.
I got my sample today too! What a shocking surprise, Demachy went niche with this one🤯
Dior is bouncing back!! Thankfully!! With the new release of Dior Homme 2021 Original (which smells like the 2011 formula) and Elixr not being Suavage at all and it’s all day projection! Wish the name was not Suavage
Honestly the more I wear it the more I see the Sauvage DNA coming out in the dry down.
Brilliant. ✌
I was looking forward to this. :)
Did not disappoint!
Yes, they mean the same thing.
George, @5:08 you'd buy a 50ml instead of a big bottle like 100ml? Elixir only comes in 60ml fyi
This smells like dark rebel layered with old spice aftershave
It's a nice fragrance though, the ladies love it. Miles better than the over hyped Creed Aventus I think. £300 for pineapple spray...errr no!
its a quality juice couldn't initially get any of the metallic notes in the original but a few hours in they seemed to be lurking around the edges...where's that decant atomiser from?
It smells like the Parfum/EDP in the dry down.
Nowadays most of perfume house try to release flanker
I have to Get This off my chest. There is something About This guy thats so personal and speak to me In a Way that No other youtuber has.
Btw im buying elexir :)
Haha a 50ml… there’s only a 60ml dude. Dior is putting one over on all of us by trying to convince us that the $155 for 60ml is justified because the marketing says it’s such a POWERFUL CONCENTRATION. All that to say goddammit it really is good and harkens back to old school aromatics while still smelling modern. I hate that I like it, but it is what it is.
Great video. Doing my part for algorithms. Yes!! 😅
We are all living in a flanker world. It seames to me there needs to be a breakthrough for all the major designer houses. Even Creed is going flanker. That's scary...especially when your asking for the same or even more then the original.
Francois Demachy has retired from Dior as Head of perfume so I guess they just let him do his thing and he did e
