This is definitely one of the best fragrances I’ve ever smelled. I agree, it is a special occasion fragrance. It’s mature and classy, but fresh and spicy and fun. It smells like something you’d wear to a winter wedding, or a New Years Eve or Christmas party. Overall an amazing fragrance. I love it.

Great channel and brilliant analysis of Sauvage and its versions. It takes a certain kind of cognition to be able to dissect scents into their constituent components and you, Sir, have done a great job, so glad I came across your channel. I don't care if every second person I ran into had the Elixir on. It's just pure masterpiece. Just wow is only zone I can go. I tried Asad and they did an incredible job cloning it. The lack of that quality lavender smell is exactly what made me fork over $200 for a 100ml bottle. Lattafa is my new favorite house but Elixir is undisputed 🏆. Very divisive scent. One of the most. For my it smells like 1980's drakkarish. Reminds me of stone washed dad jeans with a mullet. Buy a decant first. It last a long time. It's a scent that I get sick of pretty quickly. I want it off of me and it won't go away.
1. In Italy I paid 90 euros for it 2. Projection and performance really are pretty monstrous, definitely a quality product. 3. The "throwback feel" isn't just hinted, it really smells like those aftershaves from the early 90's that you would smell on your father when He shaved or on those piny shampoo/shower gels from that era, strong barbershop feel. I would say it's a product that has nothing to do with the line, not really groundbreaking but a very masculine clean-feel performance beast. Your review was incredible. I tried a spray on me at Macy's tonight to check it out. I was trying to think of what the scent was reminding me of and when you said incense, I thought that was spot on. Also, there's a note that made me think of a tiny piece of the original Green Ralph Lauren Polo from the 1980's but wasn't sure what that note was. Any way, nice job.
Great video as always Ash! I still need to check out Elixir. Especially since you used terms like “throwback”, “fragrances from the past”, and “”mature”. 👍
For me it is the only Sauvage that is worth owning. Absolutely fantastic make over. Welcome to the world of maturity Sauvage. In my top 10 out of over 200 designer and Niche fragrances I own. Shout out to Ulta for having it in stock.
Love this scent but only got a sample to try. After about 3 hrs , the wife said it smelt like fresh cut grass. After 11 hrs I could still smell it close to my skin. Saving up for the larger bottle . Great review as always. Thanks for the information and entertainment.
Due to the price, and maturity of Elixir...this definitely isn't for everyone. I think it's more situations specific than Ash leads on but hey its Ash he's known for fragrances lol. I'll say this...when the kids are in bed, I get a shower and me and my wife are hanging out "watching Netflix"...I'm wearing Elixir to bed and she loves this stuff
I wasn't drawn to the Sauvage line-up at all. But recently, I got a sample of the Elixir one. Man, was I amazed. I decided to buy it, and could find one at 70€, which I'd say is totally worth it !
I wish you'd do a review on the classic Dior Fahrenheit. I've seen it lumped into reviews you've done on multiple fragrances but I've yet to see a video that focuses only on Fahrenheit alone
I'm still fairly new to the game. At first, I found all of the Sauvage line to be a little too loud for my liking. Elixir felt the same at the opening but the drydown is absolutely delightful. Might go back and retry the others now
I need a question answered for you Elixir owners, or you Ash I've had two bottles of Sauvage Elixir in 4 months. Both from Ulta and BOTH HAVE LEAKED at the base of the atomizer. I've opened the top to it being wet every time. Is this a common occurrence?
Upon first smell I felt this was something very special. I could definitely smell pine so I'm glad you mentioned that. But as it started to settle I felt that it resembled axe body spray, albeit a very high quality version. I will have to try this again to see if I'm convinced otherwise. But despite that comparison I do think I like this one.
Absolutely adore the Elixir. However, CAUTION: It is CRAZY strong! And will project all day. Started off with 3 sprays. Felt like that was the nuclear option. Ha. Especially at work. Down to one HALF spray (for work) and it’s just about right. People will still notice it 8 hours later, long after I’ve forgotten about it, and can’t smell it myself. So be warned! It’s a beast. Even when you can’t smell it yourself anymore. Also: I wore Burberry London for 10 years and got zero compliments. (But I still loved it.) I’ve had the Sauvage Elixer x 2-3 months and have got at least one compliment every day. From both men and women. All tell me I smell amazing.
Doing 2 to 3 sprays is already pushing it with Elixir for sure, but in one of Curly Fragrances videos she recommends doing a maximum of 5 sprays with this. That woman is certainly something....

I need help guys.... bought tbis for £112 And it smells amazing I checked I don’t have a fake and mine is real... but when I wear it I don’t notice it lasts very long .. I’m so confused because I can’t really smell it when I wear it unless I smell my wrists ? Can other people smell it on me?? I’m worried maybe I got a fake but I did all the checks it’s real... very annoyed as it only lasts 2 hours max for me. Even with 2-3 sprays
Yeaaa baby finally going to pick this up next week, it's been on my wish list for so long, I absolutely love the way it smells. This and night vision edp are the winter time kings
Sauvage EDP for summer, Elixir for fall, winter and spring. No brainer and your, "Sauvage is po-po...." in the accent @ about 3:00 in. 😄 Not sure how many times I replayed that. LoL Excellent review worthy of the sub and the 👍.
Is my Prada luna rossa carbon fake? Batch code is 22U8002 (aint prada batch codes only 5 digits) and the bottle desing seems to be different from the videos I've seen like the one GS has made. For example just a small sticker in the bottom of the bottle and no batch code on a glass behind the bottle.

I just tried it today and I'm wearing it now. It's very mainstream, not very special. It's very powdery and blue-ish in my opinion. The hype is too much if I'm being honest. And I'm a big fan of Francois DeMachy. I'm back editing this again... I think it's a nice perfume. Very powdery and classic. Not niche but nice... I'm back again 3 hours late. It's a nice perfume. Very creamy and powdery. It's an extremely complicated scent.
I’ve never had more compliments in my life than with this fragrance. Truly a masterpiece. It really does have a throwback scent to it. My gf’s mom always says it smells like her father and makes her happy. 10/10
Have the entire Sauvage line and absolutely LOVE Elixir as the best of the line. I even layer the original EDT or EDP with the Parfum depending on what I'm doing but the Elixir gets a full solo and maybe even a bit of overspray when I do. 100ml of each except this and if it was available I would have paid for it.
Is there a difference between the edp and elixir? I've been told the elixir is just a stronger concentration but I've also read that they're different. I have smelled them both, they do smell different slightly but it's hard to tell lol. What are the differences?
@@lofasz3328 The parfum is very close to the skin but lasts forever while the EDT and EDP are variations of the same theme. The EDP is the loudest but the parfum is the deepest and then Elixir is a whole new experience but with clear connection.
@@WireHedd how citrusy is the parfum? I love mandarino di amalfi by Tom ford if you've ever smelled it, but I know the sauvage parfum probably isn't anything too citrus prominent.
This is a great addition to the Sauvage line but I find it too loud and too harsh. Sprayed a sample on my arm and I tried cleaning it off with sponge and soap but the scent is still strong on my arm. I still prefer my darling Sauvage EDT.
Are there any fragrances similar to Sauvage Elixir in terms of projection and longevity? I'm a really sweaty person and have trouble finding something that lasts as long as Sauvage Elixir; about 5 to 6 solid hours. Granted, I've only tried random oils, Ultra Male, Guilty Black and Eros EDT. I've heard Ultra Male was a beast, lasts hours and projects heavily but it did the exact opposite for me.
I hope we just get an eternity of Sauvage flankers. Firstly because I love Sauvage and second I love how much Sauvage triggers the fragrance community.
Just brought from boots and it's so so weak compared to the 2022 batch iv got. Done 1 spray on each arm and new one was completely gone after 5 hours. Can't believe they've re formulated it and not made it public. My old one project's like crazy and lasts all day

Which are the other 9 perfumes of your top?
What are the other top 9 bud do it for my Christmas list I'm 26 and just got some $😢😅😂
Pretty close to a masterpiece. For older gentlemen in the fall/winter which is perfect.
I would love this so much more if it wasn't for the liquorice note😢 the lavender in this is truly beautiful though
That was it for me too the liquorice note was too much.
I love it. My wife got it for me for Christmas. I sometimes I put 2 sprays of elixir to add to savage EDP like a another layer it’s awesome!
I wasn't drawn to the Sauvage line-up at all. But recently, I got a sample of the Elixir one. Man, was I amazed. I decided to buy it, and could find one at 70€, which I'd say is totally worth it !
That still works out about $205 AUD or $160 USA .
@@dazzac74 70 euro works out to 77.50 dollars and 105 aud how did you get 160 dollars and 205 aud ??
Yes it is!
RIP Bob Saget❤️
I wish you'd do a review on the classic Dior Fahrenheit. I've seen it lumped into reviews you've done on multiple fragrances but I've yet to see a video that focuses only on Fahrenheit alone
I'm using Alexandrias Ete Sauvage Elixir, absolutely amazed by how similar it is smell wise and longevity.
This stuff is the real deal! I got some sample bottles. This stuff is a beast. Got a compliment right away
For me the best Sauvage is Elixir and the best BDC is Parfum. I love those 2
this perfume reminds me my dad, he had that fragance in the 80's
Very helpful video!!
So how many sprays and where do u guys apply?
Love this is a very compliment getter , curious about what Chanel plain to launch something like this Bleu Elixir 😂
Chanelixir :)
I wanted to love it, but I don’t. I do love the lavender note. Smells great on my son, but on my husband it’s way too much.
I think u just hate your husband
Upon first smell I felt this was something very special. I could definitely smell pine so I'm glad you mentioned that. But as it started to settle I felt that it resembled axe body spray, albeit a very high quality version. I will have to try this again to see if I'm convinced otherwise. But despite that comparison I do think I like this one.
The drydown is similar to Initio Oud for Greatness.
I love Elixir. I’ve said that in many comments.
It’s amazing. :)
Expensive but one full spray on your neck area is plenty :)
When u go in the shower do you just wash your neck? Use it 5 Sprays minimum
@@P0rn0ralle84 wow that is nuclear 😂 you must still smell like elixir after a shower
@@alextanguay5886 yeah 🙃
Bought the Sauvage elixir 100ml two weeks ago and performance is really not what it used to be when it was released. It is less potent and sweet. It lacks the smokiness of the initial batches. Regret buying it. How is the performance? Does it need macerating? It looks like it has been reformulated.
I was about to buy creed and tried this wow I got 2 bottles ;)
If you already have Gisada intense would it be pointless getting this I've heard they are very similar 🤔
Probably the best men's fragrance from 2021
I need help guys.... bought tbis for £112
And it smells amazing I checked I don’t have a fake and mine is real... but when I wear it I don’t notice it lasts very long .. I’m so confused because I can’t really smell it when I wear it unless I smell my wrists ? Can other people smell it on me?? I’m worried maybe I got a fake but I did all the checks it’s real... very annoyed as it only lasts 2 hours max for me. Even with 2-3 sprays
Honestly people who dislike Sauvage are just in too deep
R.I.P Bob Saget.
Elixir is my 2021-2022 signature scent, I absolutely love it!
Yeaaa baby finally going to pick this up next week, it's been on my wish list for so long, I absolutely love the way it smells. This and night vision edp are the winter time kings
Great review and I enjoyed it and Dior Sauvage Elixir is my favorite one from the line it's a 10 out of 10 in all categories and have a blessed day
Sauvage EDP for summer, Elixir for fall, winter and spring.
I got a question, what’s the difference between the one that is 2.0oz and 3.4oz? And 60 ml and 100ml? Is one better then the other one ?
Same stuff

10/10
I prefer Sauvage Parfum but with Elixir I smell a celery/kitchen spice note that annoys me....
I like this sauvage but i only have 1 problem with it, and that is that it just leaks from time to time. How can i fix this?
Have the entire Sauvage line and absolutely LOVE Elixir as the best of the line. I even layer the original EDT or EDP with the Parfum depending on what I'm doing but the Elixir gets a full solo and maybe even a bit of overspray when I do. 100ml of each except this and if it was available I would have paid for it.
Is there a difference between the edp and elixir? I've been told the elixir is just a stronger concentration but I've also read that they're different.
I have smelled them both, they do smell different slightly but it's hard to tell lol. What are the differences?
@@lofasz3328 No ambroxan bomb and deeper spicier notes. The metalic note is heavily reduced.
@@WireHedd what about the parfum vs edp and the parfum vs elixir? I've read the parfum is pretty different than the edp
I don’t know if it’s just me but I smell something in Elixir that I don’t like in Layton Exclusif. What scent is that?
I hope so too. It's better for me if a bunch of clueless people wear the same boring fragrance so I can stand out with way better and unique perfumes.
@@RAAZR- “ what do you mean you don’t like my fragrance?! This is REAL OUD. You just don’t appreciate ART” cope a little harder 😢
@@jamesdaviesanswers8751ikr what a dB lol
You take fragrance suggestions?
Just brought from boots and it's so so weak compared to the 2022 batch iv got. Done 1 spray on each arm and new one was completely gone after 5 hours. Can't believe they've re formulated it and not made it public. My old one project's like crazy and lasts all day
Same story here. Bought the Sauvage elixir 100ml two weeks ago and performance is really not what it used to be when it was released. It is less potent and sweet. It lacks the smokiness of the initial batches. Regret buying it. How is the performance? Does it need macerating? It looks like it has been reformulated.
I bought the 100 ml version now for only 130€ and I fing love this fragrance
Can I wear this is summer/high heat?
Yeah I paid $250 for the top perfume and 250 for the elixir definitely wasn't cheap but well worth the purchases
I absolutely love it. Its not the best in super hot weather tho. But its longevity is the best I've ever seen
What do you mean by "not the best in super hot weather"?
Spot-on review!! This stuff is amazing! I will always have some of this moving forward.
I actually was shopping at macys and the guy offered me to smell it when I was walking through the cologne section. I didn’t ask any questions. Take my money.
Dior Elixir Sauvage is the master beast mode...big compliment puller long lasting❤❤❤.
Sprayed both edp and elixir on each side of my neck, but I kept smelling elixir,it overpowers edp
Very Nice Ash!
I just purchased a bottle today and feel like I've died and gone to heaven. I love this. I Iive in Thailand so fall and winter is really outta the question.
Today smelled it... Since I love EDP so muuuch, yes, its diferent, and I fkn love it! Very bossy and stronk frag out there. Price is really not friendly but worth getting for collections and get thous compliments. My lady loved from first spray at shop I tried on my hand. 🤟😎Defintetly getting this one.
