This is my third full year as a special education teacher. I am so grateful for your vlogs! You have been more helpful than all of my college courses! I look forward every week to watch your newest video! I have to get going on preparing my IEPs for this year!
Good Morning Braelen from Chicago. As a Special-ed teacher with CPS, your video was very informative in having the students IEPs and assessments organized in Google Drive, ways to accommodate my diverse learners with modifications in the classroom along with other important matters to get my school year organized! 👍
This will be my 3rd year teaching special education preschool. Your videos have been so helpful! I cannot thank you enough for all the information you give. During the school closure last year, I felt a little lost & your videos helped me get through. Thank you again!
Braelan - I never write comments in any videos but I just had to say thank you so much for sharing these great organization ideas! This will be my first year teaching in a high school special education school with students with moderate to significant disabilities and all of your videos & podcasts have been SO helpful for me (and helped ease my anxiety 😂) You are such an amazing teacher and my role model!! Enjoy the rest of your summer 🤍
I love your organization. As a special education teacher for the past 20 years, I always like to try new ideas from younger teachers. Do you teach in a small district? I am amazed at how small of a caseload you have. I always have at least 20 students on my caseload per year, so summer prep is always a must. Thanks again for your videos. You are doing great!!!
Thank you for the organizational ideas. I believe these resources will help me be less overwhelmed by the IEP. I hope to use your videos as another resource for myself. Again, thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! I’m entering my first year of teaching. I’ll be a Special Educator and I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed because I have no clue where to start. This video is super helpful. ❤️
weaknesses vs. needed supports seem like two different things. Please explain. I am starting my first year as a special education teacher, resource/inclusion.
@@ncuetlach So instead of saying, "Billy's weakness is math", provide teachers with comments that can offer a way as to how to help the student. With supports in place from the beginning, the teacher working with the student has a better chance of setting them up for success. I would write, "Billy does best when given a hundred's chart to solve blah blah blah"- this way the teacher doesn't have a negative representation of Billy as "weak" in this area but instead capable when given the proper supports. I find that this information is more helpful for general education teachers because it provides them with the "issue" and the "solution" in a sense. Congrats on your upcoming first year! Hope this helps.
Thank you for making a channel. I am a first year teacher and have a position as academic support. I have no idea what I am doing and although I learned a lot in college, I feel very unprepared 🤣🤣
love it: can someone please interpret: what do the SP OT PT C VI ELL stand for? I am thinking Speech, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Counseling, (VI idk) and obv English Language Learner?

Can you do a video about IEP calendar days? Like scheduling meetings and being within the 10 days, 60 days, and all that jazz that I can’t remember 🤣

20 for a self contained room? Wow that’s a lot! My district isn’t that small, just the self contained classrooms are smaller than resource

Interesting. Our iep meetings are all done at the same time each year.

Same!!!
Me too!!!
I would change the word "weaknesses" in your snapshot page to something else like - "needed supports" just something that doesn't make it negative.
