An example that kinda fits here that very few people have probably played (but I personally loved) is "The Last Remnant". In that game you are actually punished for farming weak enemies. The reason being the game kept track of a rough number of enemies you had killed in the form of you battle rank. This basically acted as a level up system for your enemies. The higher your battle rank the more powerful every enemy in the game became. Battle rank however didn't affect your unit's strength in anyway. This meant if you killed lots of weak enemies that didn't yield much XP you could actually soft lock your whole play through because the enemies would out scale you.

And then you have Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, that punishes you for using the character creation system in a role-playing manner (the intended way). The game scales the enemies with the level of the PC. So if you pick a character class with the skill set you actually want to use, then you level up fast, but eventually your attribute stats will be ridiculously low for your level and your character will be weak compared to the upscaled enemies. A solution for this was not picking the skills you want to use during the normal gameplay as class skills, but instead pick easily trainable skills as class skills. This way you accumulate attribute stats during play and then level up by training whenever you want. It was annoying.

I always find it curious when people say the name Bob-omb. Because it actually pronounced Bo Bomb except the Bo is pronounced Ba and sounds like Ba Bomb. He pronounced it wrong like 3 times trying to sound it out phonetically but then gave up and pronounced it the correct way 😁
FF11 outright forces you to enter a tonberry filled cave as part of MSQ of their expansion, so it's very hard not to kill those green little shits. Thankfully the reset quest is pretty simple to do and cheap (not cheap if you do it when a tonberry boss is part of that month's trial challenge and every new player scrambles to buy the quest item to reset hate)
See, stuff like that first example to me isn't cheating. It's not a glitch or anything where you break the physics of the world, it's just you using common sense to overcome a poorly constructed challenge. Now I'm not saying that to the perspective of the game devs, I'm going for the immersion angle and saying that in universe, the boss has chosen to fight you in this arena and he's created a gauntlet that's easily circumvented. It'd be like if a villain is supposed to be taken as the scourge of the earth and the end of existence as we know or something dramatic, and I just waltz over to a tightrope across a gap and the boss can't reach me and accidentally falls to his death. That's not cheating, that's just using the tools of your environment mixed with common sense. That's why you've got to love fights in games that're designed to accommodate the different ways the player is likely to approach the challenge. Maybe the boss can jump across gaps or maybe he has a ranged grapple attack he can use to pull you back across the gap, or maybe trying to escape the boss temporarily grants you a small advantage that only lasts so long and is only so effective

If it's possible to add something in a game that specifically recognises itself as illegitimate, why not just add a seek and destroy code to it that will wipe it from the machine using it?
I imagine the notion or idea of punishing hackers by putting something in the game that makes playing an illegitimate copy a living HELL to play is somewhat more appealing or fun to the developers.....Invincible enemies, inventories that wipe themselves periodically, or even eventually lock themselves so the player can't use the locked items, levels that start off seemingly normal before becoming more corrupted or unbeatable, or even start themselves over *just* as you're about to reach the end, meaning that everything you did is wiped out. Either way, it sends the same message that putting in a code that simply makes it so you can't play it at all, if it's an illegitimate copy would: Don't hack/steal our game!
I remember that witcher 3 cow hide farm but I also remember the best of the best money glitch. It was with that loan shark in one of the cities. I can't remember which city or how you even do it but man I made so much money within 30 mins it wasn't even funny🤣
Not true with that Serious Sam enemy. No seller has any right to take away anything you paid them to provide. And any technique necessary to prevent them from doing so is both legal and moral.
That's not a Rapier Rafe is holding, it has a single sided blade with a curved tip. Probably a cutlass if the uniform he took it from was a navy officer.
Honestly there's one way to deal with the scorpion in serious Sam god mode and one-hit kill from a trainer lol
In Dungeons of Dredmor if you steal, an infinite army of demons attacks and chases you
0:50 this is not a cheat, this is employing game geography. Not the player’s fault if a natural pocket of safety occurs.
Didn't Revolver Ocelot make the comment about autofire on the original version? l've only played the PS1 version and he absolutely said that.
I always find it curious when people say the name Bob-omb. Because it actually pronounced Bo Bomb except the Bo is pronounced Ba and sounds like Ba Bomb. He pronounced it wrong like 3 times trying to sound it out phonetically but then gave up and pronounced it the correct way 😁
Jules the GoAT is still here!! been watching since 2016 much love
Always love a FFXI shoutout! But I don't know why I'm the jerk when they're the green slimy horrors trying to doink me with giant butcher's knives.
Is it bad I instantly chuckled at Sans for being at number 1? Like anyone else would just be incorrect.
Another thing about sans is if you kill only papyrus he calls you out on it
After all these years I'm surprised that there's no cheats to make all DRM scorpion, mortal
Never forgetii, Mr. Resetii.
Tonberry King in the intro video lol gave me problems
Is the background music from the Gamecube game Tales of Symphonia?
Stealing from Kecleon in Pokémon mystery dungeon being missing is a shame
The one from Hades reminds me of Kecleon from the Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team games.
Ironic We never get this anymore in future Gaming
Revolver ocelots torture part...i literally had to drop my memory card of in my buddies mailbox to get thru it. Paid him 5 bucks an got the memory card at school the next day. Lol i tried it again last summer, and STILL couldn't do it. No idea why i cant do it
Nemesis from RE3 original game was such a pain in the ass that required som corner abuse too
If skill isn't necessary, then the fault is on the challenger, not the player.
For some reason I could not beat the cake 🎂 boss in Mario rpg! It’s like it had infinite health
5:44 if you dont want to use auto mode dont include thisone is just a sucker moves.
"React to you being a jerk"
Said the guy defending "buying isn't owning" game companies
It's not illegal to pirate a game you already own. 🤷♂
Titular warlock?? What do you think a witcher is?
lol i thought you said "hades' son zack" 😆😅
im not a jerk just broke :D
I remember that witcher 3 cow hide farm but I also remember the best of the best money glitch. It was with that loan shark in one of the cities. I can't remember which city or how you even do it but man I made so much money within 30 mins it wasn't even funny🤣
Sans also confronts you in the 2nd zone if you pirate the game =p
Not true with that Serious Sam enemy. It was widely documented that it would appear if the game protection had a 'fart' and thought that your version was 'piwated' when it was actually LEGALLY BOUGHT AND GENUINE!
In fact, the pirates literally NEVER SAW THAT ENEMY because the crack of Serious Sam was so PERFECT the very first time the game protection never activated!
Was hoping to see the yuyu hakusho ps2 game on here when you fight toguro in the beginning and can’t be beaten without cheating and he’ll bring it up when you do use the cheats you can claim after beating the story mode
are there monsters or bosses that punish greedy and incompetent developers also?
