  • Often we are no longer aware that we are constantly accompanied by a background noise. Airplanes, street noise, industry and man-made noise pollution significantly exceed the natural background noise, even in many nature reserves. Noise pollution is often viewed as an urban problem, but the expanding development through people and activities in rural areas increase the reach...we have almost forgotten what silence actually means and how important it is for us humans and for nature with all its living beings and life forms. Critical noise pollution has also increased in the habitats of endangered animal and plant species. Even if plants are not directly affected, many animals and insects that spread their seeds or pollinate their flowers can be affected by noise, causing indirect effects on plants and habitats. As a Field Recordist and in my work for Nature Conservation, I often face this problem. For this reason, it is important and necessary for me to point out these changes in order to sensitize people to them. We should monitor this change closely. We have already lost too many such areas in recent years. Despite all this, we can still find the wonderful natural sound of nature.
    Enjoy listening
    If you can quality open headphones are recommended while listening at mid or low level.

    Thanks for this recording. I agree with you on every point. It's important to represent that sound. That's the reality. There are too many people who are completely disconnected and running away from reality. Lie behind soundproof windows and watch highly polished Netflix documentaries from distant worlds. Thanks for taking us to the Haßberge.

    Amazing recording! Unfortunately it's almost impossible to have a place perfectly noise-free. Anyway, thanks for sharing your great work! Ciao!

      Thank's for your comment Giuseppe. I'm glad you like the recording. I thought for a long time whether I could publish this video on my channel. Then I decided to make the reality and the problem audible. That's why I'm happy about your positive comment even more! It's always a pleasure for me when you visit my channel. I hope you're doing well. I'm looking forward to new videos from you on your channel. Best regards from northern Franconia

      I share your point of view. In Poland, where I live, finding noise-free places is almost impossible. Currently, we are struggling in the country with a massive problem of quads and enduro motorcycles, which enter even protected nature reserves, destroying plants and causing noise above 100 dB.

    What I love about this mic is however you place it, it records all sounds around it in high fidelity details. Sometimes I tried to use the NT-SF1 (Ambisonic Mic, what it was not bad), but with BP4025 I prefer its natural way how it sounds at the end! Of course this is just my opinion based on my experiences! Thanks for sharing this recordings!

      Hi, please excuse my late reply. Thank you for your comment and for stopping by my channel. I completely share my experience with the BP4025 with you. I completely agree with you. For me, this microphone is a great addition to my Omni Mics, which I also really like and work with. Very good work on your channel, I can only recommend it! Wish you and your channel all the best. @@HpBeck_Fieldrecordings No worries about timing, sometimes is not possible to answer in time, I get that! I have very good experiences with BP4025 especially in High Mountains and when I was recording very distant sound sources. No matter how you place it, it records all sounds in the area around the mic (I have experienced that when I was recording the paraglider).
      By the way, in 2-3 weeks I will be driving through your area and city towards the south. A time ago I sent you a message to your messenger account, did you get it?

    I'm so happy to watch your videos. You very accurately described the problem of losing access to silence, it is so important that we draw society's attention to this issue. Thank you for the great work you do, it is important for all of us and future generations who - if we do not stop negative changes now - may not have the chance to learn what true silence is in natural conditions. All the best!

      Thank you for your comment and your kind of words. These mean a lot to me. Your view of things and the way you describe the problem of noise pollution are very special and inspire me. I often don't have the right words to describe this problem, which is what I found to use photos and recordings to sensitize people and bring them closer to the topic of noise pollution in our natural environment.Thank you for your great work on your channel. You are making an important contribution to pointing out this problem. I wish you and your project all the best and send you greetings from the Haßberge Nature Park in northern Franconia. Keep up your great work, I think there is still a lot ahead of us.Best regards😉✌

    Nice recording. Very peaceful except for the airplanes, but they are very hard to get away from. I'm in the US, pretty close to NYC and it's crazy noisy. QUESTION: I have the BP4025 and for wind protection I have the Rycote BBG, but I would like to get a better solution. What are you using? How do you like it? It looks like one the the Rycote blimps in the image. Thanks!

    • @HpBeck_Fieldrecordings
      @HpBeck_Fieldrecordings  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thank's for your comment and for stopping by my channel. I'm glad you like this recording. The wind protection I use is the Rode Blimp MkII. It is really very suitable for my areas of use. Strong winds are not a problem. It also offers good protection in snow or light rain in a sheltered environment, such as here in the forest. But I would be careful for several hours. The workmanship is for this price also good. I hope I was able to help you with your question. You've already made a good decision with the BP4025. I really like the sound of these microphone when it comes to stereo mic's. And yes, aircraft noise pollution is a big problem in our recordings , for animals, nature and us humans too. If you have any further questions, just ask, you are welcome. Best regards from northern Franconia Germany

    You should probably check your compression, it is way too strong (check the background-noisefloor while there is the plane around 3mins in).
    And yes, noise pollution is a big problem, especially with new areas being used for windmills, which can be heard from huge distances. Unfortunately those windmills are mostly being build far away from urban areas. Many quiet places get destroyed that way. I have seen and heard that many times in the swedish countryside, which can still be dead quiet.

      No compression was used during the recording or post-production. Of course, the compression of the programs when rendering in Ableton, in my video program and RUclips can create a similar effect. Sometimes these processes produce audible artifacts and anti-alasing. It's quite possible that you can hear this or see it in the analyzer .And yes ,windmills also contribute to noise pollution.Thanks for the addition
